The problem with any of these M-formulas slogans starts with the first word "MAKE" because no amount of legislation is going to force a change - and it shouldn't. This was a lesson from the Prohibition era. . . but here we are again. People have to choose a life of health and integrity, it can not be forced no matter which politic.
@@creativefilmsmusic This is an excellent point. Removing choice and using force rarely goes well, especially in a country that is supposedly all about freedom.
I recall when Michelle Obama was First Lady, and she was encouraging healthier eating, people went berzerk crying, “She’s going to take away our tater tots, Mountain Dew, burgers, and potato chips!! She must be stopped!! ” And any time people bring up the issues with our food and water supply, there is the outcry that such concerns is “propaganda”. So I find it peculiar that people are not immediately shutting down RFK Jr. Just proves it’s not the message, it’s the messenger.
Different subgroups. The health food people like rfk jr and tended to be liberals, their racism is subtle and they dont think they are racist. Its a different group saying dont take my burgers and mountain dew. Those are the ones getting diabetes and dying young from heart disease.
I remember seeing a TED Talk from Roger, Kitchen Gardners International? His talk was "my subversive plot". MO dug up part of the White House lawn for veg. The horror lol. I had a sign made up for my veg garden.
This is so relatable. As a homebirth, homeschool, semi-crunchy Mama, I almost fell down the pipeline myself...and I've watched so many friends not necessarily go full alt-right but become alt-right apologists over wild "wellness" ideas. So much RFK fangirling. It's actually heartbreaking.
@@catalhuyuk7 like eating only organic, no sugar, no gluten, no processed foods, often vegan, but like... Obsessive with it to a fault, such as feeding a cat a vegan diet (when cats are obligate carnivores)
Sometimes people go so far left that they come full circle and end up on the right. Mind-boggling. Some of my favorite bloggers and influencers are completely unrecognizable to me now. I had a client the other day tell me how he was excited that RFK was going to get the poison out of the food. I was like, you know that you can avoid that stuff, right? I’ve been avoiding it for decades. Just eat whole foods . Grow a garden. No one is forcing you to drink Pepsi. All of a sudden people who wouldn’t have previously cared about the content of their food think there’s some big conspiracy. How they think brain worm guy is going to fix it is beyond me.
I have lost so many friends. I know I have changed and grown a lot over the years, but I do feel like fundamentally I'm still me. The friends I've lost to QAnon and the alt right and now MAHA...I miss who they were. That person is gone and has been replaced with something twisted and angry and deluded.
I refuse to blame anyone but themselves for the hated, ignorance, or greed that led them to voting for DJT after J6, the felonies, all the sexual assaults, Epstein FFS - my own father included who apparently cares more about helping a conman get richer than his own daughter.
Thank you for this! It's been horrifying and seriously perplexing to watch friends and colleagues in holistic health fields getting red pilled, making the rest of the community look bad and destroying our credibility. 💜
Growing our own food, even on the smallest scale, is one of the most subversive acts. Once upon a time, we grew Victory Gardens. It may be time to get community gardens going as a movement. It may help rebuild social cohesion.
Oh good luck with that. You’re not allowed to save seeds anymore. It’s illegal. If you buy different types of soil and soil additives that have any type of manure, they have treated the hay with herbicide so it kills your garden… on purpose. And if you get miracle grow and your plants miracle die just remember it’ll be a miracle if you ever get all of the herbicide out of that soil after 10-15 years. Thankfully, I have chickens so I seeded sunflowers and grass for a whole two years in a rotating constant sprout type situation and pulled most of the herbicide out, but the problem is feeding it to the chickens meant my eggs weren’t organic and I couldn’t sell my eggs to my neighbors because they only wanted organic eggs. It’s not like you’re not already eating it in your beef even the pasture raised beef because they eat hay. What do you think is in the pasture? So you’re already eating Grazon herbicide if you eat beef. At a certain point I just give up because they have robbed me as a single, senior female with disability. They refused to recognize my disability then they forced me with gouging groceries to raise food and then they taint everything I need to raise the food… like the chicken pellets Have made the chickens stop laying and to buy the pellets that are proper nutrition for the chickens is way too expensive. It’s just an endless cycle of attacks from every side to try to stop you from feeding yourself, or even just adding some extra nutrition that you’re not getting from the store. They don’t even want you to help supplement your food that they are ruining in the store. Good luck finding a tomato that actually tastes like a tomato anymore. Same thing with a strawberry. There is no sweet in the strawberries. It’s just a sour dry, crunchy spongy thing. Nothing tastes right. Oh… And when you buy the little plants at the store instead of buying seeds, they have hybridized those so that any seeds that come off of the fruit of any of those plants won’t actually grow anything edible. Even if they sprout, they don’t produce the same fruit or vegetable that you got the seed from and it looks nothing like that. You can get those beef steak tomatoes, and if you plant the seeds from those tomatoes, you get what looks like a little cherry tomatoes, and there’s only like five of them on the entire plant. They also actually treat the plant with chemicals as its sprouting that sterilizes the plant so any seeds that do sprout are weak. And so even if you got a few tomatoes from that beef steak tomato seed on the second season, you definitely are not gonna get anything but diminishing returns if you continue planting those same seeds. You’ll starve to death if you have to rely on those seeds. And now there are some legal attacks on heirloom seeds and you’re not allowed to sell them or give them away to anyone and even selling the fruit off of the plant that has fertile seeds inside of it… like selling a tomato… has been the source of legal troubles for some people. So you can grow the tomatoes yourself & you could use those seeds from those tomatoes to plant new tomatoes in your own garden, but you can’t give a tomato away. You can’t sell a tomato and you definitely cannot give any of the seeds from those tomatoes to anyone else to plant. And they will do some kind of genetic testing on the seeds and the plants to find out if they match the plants in your yard in order to prosecute you. That’s how far they are going to try to stop you from feeding yourself. Monsanto wants to be the only source of food and poison everybody apparently. They definitely want everyone to get dementia. This country has gone absolutely psychopath to its core. And I mean the clinical definition of the word psychopath, not an emotional slur. I mean, everyone seems to be missing their amygdala except for about 10% of us. No one seems to have any type of emotional normal range or ability to feel anything for other people and they think that they are the only real human being on the planet and everyone else is just an android. I feel like I’m in a twilight zone episode that just won’t ever end. But what can you do but keep trying? 🤷🏽
@@user-cz5tp5bp2x Many buy some products in bulk in the harvest season and do canning. Also, there are farmer’s markets where some Amish and Mennonite farmers grow organic greenhouse vegetables. Some grow leafy greens all winter long.
Practically all RFK talks about is giving power back to the ppl with common sense measures. Practically everything is anti-capitalist as well - very in-line with the Michelle Obama thing which was great. You do realize RFK has been fighting against the corruption of both huge corporations and public agencies for ,35 years.. ? Where is the gratitude for that work. It's extremely ironic that this guy who has TRULY worked for the common man - and for the environment, in tangible ways like cleaning up rivers and suing the f out of some of the worst corps - can be so reduced so much. He is anything but anti-vaxx for example - all he says is they should be held to the SAME standard as ALL other meds. How can that possibly be seen as extreme. If his work as environmental lawyer was legit - if ppl agree he applied reason and facts - and he did that shit for 35 YEARS, then why do ppl assume that wouldnt the case here...? Do you guys think the Means-siblings are lying? Just curious.
The day after elections, I decided to go on a 4-year news fast to maintain my sanity, but I had to click on this video because I've never heard the term "MAHA" before. I am totally in sync with everything you said. OK, now I'm back to my news fast.
Good for you. I’m promoting HAHA, since many illnesses seem linked to our gut function. And so many of us needing to heal our mental health, which ties into a better mental “diet”.
I don’t know if this is a conflict or not but, thought I’d put it out there. Food not lawns: how to turn your yard into a garden and your neighborhood into a community Heather Jo Flores
Except they’re making gardens illegal by making seeds illegal, and producing plants that don’t seed and can’t be replanted. Not to mention tainting soil with herbicides so you think you’re buying miracle grow soil and you put it all in your flower bed and nothing will grow and you find out it’s the manure because the cows ate hay that have an herbicide and it lasts for a decade in the soil until enough grasses have grown and been taken away to bring it back out of the soil. My whole front flower bed around my cabin is tainted and it’s been three years and I finally got a very weak tomato to grow but nothing else will grow properly. I keep seeding oats and wheat grass and sunflowers like literally spreading it across the soil in a layer of seeds and letting it sprout and then scraping off the whole top layer of sprouts. And doing it again because it’s faster. I had to throw away everything the first year that I did that and it cost me so much money for all that animal feed to use as sprouts and then throw it all away, actually in the landfill. Then the second year I was getting successful growth to a point so that it was such a small amount of herbicide that I could feed the sprouts to my chickens because we eat the beef that the cattle are eating the hay so I fed the chickens out of desperation. it ruined my organic eggs, but at least it cut my costs down. And after year number three of constant sprouts in this one small flower bed, I finally got one tomato to grow and produce a handful of tomatoes, and I do mean a handful. So I still have a long way to go. And this was with miracle grow soil. So like I’m saying… Good luck trying to garden because all the wealthy corporate people don’t want you to have a garden and they’re trying to ruin as much land as they possibly can and limit our food production to the point where it’s going to be an extinction level event within your lifetime at the rate that they’re going.
I love how many are turning their ornamental gardens into mixed gardens with both vegetables and compatible ornamentals as companion plants. And homeowners innovating with their spaces is fascinating to see. Some urban areas even allowing chickens, without roosters.

For sure. I hope that too many in America don’t have to suffer before many of that following catch onto the realities that this administration overlooks.
As humans we have been separated from our food sources. People are starting to garden, bake, can and barter with our neighbours again. That’s the movement we need. Support local food markets, craft fairs, etc. share with neighbours and they’ll share back.
Thanks so much. I also don't understand how anyone would think that RFK Jr can be that person who will deliver clean healthy food to our neighborhoods. After all, the man has always prided himself on the fact he will eat just about anything. (and he wasn't kidding) I am not one extreme or the other...for me it's simple... grow or purchase food to be prepared with the methods our grandmothers passed down. But, our neighborhoods have become food deserts. The most urgent problem I feel we face is the lack of real grocery stores in too many communities. It worries me that I haven't heard RFK Jr mention it one time.
I have been saying these food culture ideas for decades (waaaay older than this fine lady). I am a retired pharmacist who has always believed that the first medicine we should put in our bodies are foods that we know where they were grown. Either organically by ourselves or local small farmers.
Good people - before January 20, 2025, get your and your children’s vaccines up to date. For the anti-vax people, I highly recommend perusing the communicable diseases that killed thousands of children in the US Census Mortality Schedules per year and Tuberculosis ward Census Reports from pre-vaccine, pre-pasteurized milk days to fully understand why vaccines and pasteurized milk products came to be a “thing”.
@@jennifernordlund2691 Actually, it would because there would always be those few with questionable standards that had contaminated milk. It’s an unfortunate reality of the marketplace. While those promoting and supporting raw milk do tend to have good standards, anyone can break into a market. Personally I’d like to see niche regulations for raw dairy available everywhere, but not large scale. Many areas that have it for the cheese market do an excellent job of maintaining good quality and promote basic health standards.

FDA has been ineffective for a long time. They is why a lot of manufacturers and retailers came together to create SQF (Safe Quality Foods) and BRC (British Retail Consortium Global Standard) to assure customers that they are receiving what the companies claim they are providing. While not perfect they do help operate as a 3rd party check on the worst in manufacturer behavior. So look for a SQF or BRC logo on packaging. As someone who works in food quality, I am pretty concerned for what we are in for.
As an autistic, I was horrified when my own sister CONTINUES to bring of RFK and how he's getting rid of red dye so he can't be THAT bad - I genuinely don't know how to help her pull her head out of her ass...oh that's right, I can't. And THAT is what is the worst part because she's not stupid. She is VERY educated and in upper management for IT security and even she refuses to just do a quick google search about who he REALLY is and what he is actually planning on doing. I just - COME ON PEOPLE!!!
@@Painted_lady It's spread out, usually it's on various podcasts that he has been on. But he thinks that anyone who uses chronic medication should be forced to stop, if they die, they die, and if they don't die but need medication because they for example have ADHD or depression, they should be sent to "wellness farms". Which is just another word for forced labor camps. He also thinks that vaccines cause autism, and that there are zero safe vaccines in existence, so they must all be banned. As relevant to the person you replied to, he has apparently also said some pretty gross things about autistic people. Though people who say that autism is caused by vaccines almost always have those sorts of beliefs.
It's sad that they voted for crazy people instead of voting with their dollars by not getting their food (or at least so much of it) from big corporations who have zero care or accountability. This is why I do my best to get as much of my food as possible from my garden or from farmers that I have actual in person relationships with. I'd even call many of them my friends. They know and care about me as a person, and I them. That kind of connection ensures greater accountability and safety. We absolutely need regulations, but I think we also need closer relationships to where our food comes from, as these are also protective. Eating food that I've grown is such a joy! I feel it nourishes me on so many levels and certainly feels more nutritious than even stuff from the farmer's market. It connects me to the land where I live, the other creatures that live here, the cycles of the seasons and so much more. It makes me feel rich to be surrounded by food that I grew, like the 200+ pounds of winter squash taking up all my shelves. Everyone deserves to experience that and I hope we find our way there. An obstacle I see is that many people seem to think that growing food or even preparing food is somehow "beneath them" or a waste of their time. That they have more important and better things to do. I'm not sure how to work with that one. I'd love to hear your thoughts on shifting that attitude, if that's a video you'd ever be interested in making.
Thank you for making this point! Buy from local farmers if you can't grow your own. But defunding the FDA and stopping vaccines is not the way forward.
The problem is if you live anywhere near farms and ranches, like most places in Texas, E. coli comes with your tapwater. And good luck trying to not get E. coli if you’re sensitive to it and you eat tacos or hamburgers with the lettuce in it or any type of sandwich that has lettuce in it. If you’re eating that in Texas, you are definitely going to get the trots. But most people in Texas are not sensitive to it anymore because it’s in everything here because of the cattle ranching. And just like people in Mexico are used to their water there people in Texas are used to it in their water here so it’s not a big deal actually. It’s only dangerous for vulnerable population like certain seniors and infants and people with sensitive systems. Especially if you’re like going through chemotherapy and things like that. The E. coli is pretty much part of your life and you just don’t realize it and they’re just making a big deal about it to be alarmist and get everybody worked up. It doesn’t matter if the beef has E. coli in it all you have to do is cook it so that it is fully cooked and it doesn’t have E. coli. You’re supposed to be handling beef safely anyway. The whole E. coli thing is a scam.
5:21 Nope. In the 9th grade we were reading that waste of ink, Ethan Frome by Edith Wharton. And to think that this all could have been avoided if we read The Jungle or "It Can't Happen Here" by Sinclair Lewis.
I used to teach history to high school (until 2020) and I would have them read excerpts. The kids couldn't grasp the language usage, so I switched to videos. They were grossed out, but in all honesty, I don't think any of it resonated with them as they crunched their way through a bag of Takis and slurped down their Starbucks during classtime
It is easier to think there will be one person who can save us when the truth is we will save ourselves through knowledge not only of the food products and the deregulations we can change it if we vote in senators and Congress that actually represent us instead of taking the bribes from Big pharma.
Yes, unfortunately. Maybe the one good part in current developments is that a percentage will improve their scientific understanding as it relates to health and food.
This is horrifying. I’ve been a natural food person for ages and never heard people were being sucked into the right over this. Goes to show how much work needs to be done on our education system for basic science education. No child left behind was/is a disaster. Republican scheme to gain power at the expense of the well being of the country.
Agree deregulation hurts wellbeing of all. I invest in stocks and in companies that are not environment friendly- I guess very few companies if at all any are “green” - it is not that I do not realize the harm and the correct direction in which things should go. But I have come to realize that it is highly unlikely that corporations, governments or even public in any country will work towards values we all talk about. If you talk about India (born and brought up there) many values are just religious stories, chanting, rituals (with their own high carbon footprint) and all this when surroundings are full of poor homeless people, full of trash and stray animals, pollution. Not just the public but I have seen religious preachers not letting homeless people on road use religious place as shelter. Such is the psychosis of “being holy”. Few other facts - (1) Most of the public is not even ready to talk, forget about forming communities for any good transition. It’s a fact. I agree corporations are at fault first but deliberate public neglect in their own wellbeing is second. (2) The very public that a few great leaders have fought and sacrificed for has conveniently forgotten them, rather years later they are questioned. The sacrificial model that the public is so in love with- “talk good” may be even celebrate a day or two per year as a holiday “in their memory” isn’t going to establish any positive reform. “Dry day” on Gandhi Ji’s birthday is a perfect example. Yes if anyone chooses to self sacrifice they are sure to get their name written somewhere in history text books but values is a different game - another fact. Nonetheless- what make some sense to me is try and establish financial stability via job and investment and finding authentic avenues to support (Peepal Farm, One Tree Planted are few examples) besides keep changing lifestyle choices like growing food at home being one example.
Thank you for speaking/informing about this with such a respectful and loving tone. There's a difference between telling someone they've been fooled and telling them they are dumb. He's a useful tool and the minute he stops submitting to ritual humiliation exercises like being made to pose with a Big Mac and Coca-Cola (which he has called literal poison multiple times), or the minute corporate interests complain about his work, he's going to be fired, probably by a social media post.
He was a useful idiot to drop out of the presidetial race and endorse 🍊🤡. That's why he got his nomination for HHS secretary. He sold his soul. But hey, thanks for the votes, suckers!
It's ironic how they want to talk about living healthy, yet want to exercise environmental deregulation, which would contribute to toxic air throughout the country and world.
The worst thing about this "MAHA" movement is that RFK Jr. himself is still a very huge drug user. He doesn't even walk the talk. He has these half baked ideas that threaten our already very delicate healthcare standing. How many Americans have to die for folks to be like "Oooooooh, maybe this was a BAD idea?"

There's a movie called Food and Country that is a documentary that discusses this. It is imperative for people to watch that to understand everything she's saying. Every. Single. Thing. Taken straight from the farmers being screwed by these corporations on purpose to drive them out of business so these corporations win. When they win, all of us little people lose- we lose money by paying more for crap, and we lose our health because we're eating crap food that's genetically modified and grown with chemicals and hormones. The farmers talked about all this. I was nearly in tears when I finished watching it.
Thank you for this.. I've unsubbed from some channels because of their support for Trump/RFK Jr even though they (the channels) were promoting good health.. it just boggles my mind how they could think these individuals are going to actually help people be healthier
I, too, am a Biologist crunchy mom, and, knowing what I know, America never really was healthy like they think it was, so, just like their fantasy that the 50's was the ideal decade is garbage, the idea that there was some idyllic period of perfect health and wellness in the United States at any point in time is also a fantasy. Just like the notion that ancient paleolithic people were the epitome of health, etc. etc. Make America healthy, sure. But, make it healthy again? There's nothing to "get back to." We can only push forward with new discoveries and innovation as we apply newfound knowledge to our daily lives.
The only thing I can think of that made the 50s better is that fat was blamed incorrectly for heart disease in the 50s and the truth didn’t come out mainstream until the 2010s. Only in the last few years have trans fats finally gone but the damage over the last 70 years was done.
@@natehunter2961 I hate to break it to you, but saturated fat does cause heart disease. If it didn't, it wouldn't be the thing scientists use to induce heart disease in animal models. But they do, and it works. Saturated fat also causes Type 2 diabetes. I'll give you one guess as to how they induce that in animal models. The good news is that if you avoid all sources of saturated fat, you can reverse heart disease and type 2 diabetes. This has been peer reviewed and published. It is established science. Source: I'm a Biologist whose colleagues did this in the lab. I'm not going to argue with people in the comments section about it. You can believe what you want to believe, I'm not going to stop you, but if you're interested in the actual science, there it is.
The minute corporate interests complain to Dear Leader, he will be axed; DJT's personal behavior is direct evidence as to whether he values individual health or monetary wealth, more.
I am a Democrat, I have voted Democrat since the 1980s. We voters are well aware of the horrors that the lack of oversight will bring. We know that the federal government is not going to make our food into anything worth eating. The hope is that we on the fringe, the small farmers, could sell our foods in fair markets. The ranchers have had a real fight trying to get a foothold in the market place. The USDA has made small meat packing plants unable to compete with large packing plants. Like you, I voted for Harris but I had to really weigh out the benefits to the young people trying to feed their children. Democrats have done little to get nourishing food to our tables. And in the case of allowing the use of Paraquat, may actually be worse than Republicans.
Actually, the greatest barrier to healthy eating and access to food is better supported by adequate income. That alone could allow consumers to influence policy in communities and nationally. Allowing small markets and pushing back on questionable policies regarding ones that Monsanto and the like profit from help preserve smaller companies and farms. Maybe that’s one area that RFKjr will help us see some progress. Giving corporations the upper hand is something that Republicans are very good at. Getting money out of politics isn’t something that Republicans are ever likely to support. Probably, in the future, politics will become more about delivering than about branding. So far, Democrats are ahead on that. Personally, I’d like to see most people regard themselves as Independents and vote based on track records and Party funders. That’s going to hold them more accountable because many of the funders will be expecting reciprocity. Also, I don’t think Counterbalancing is an effective approach, which is something that liberals heavily rely on. I’d like to see much better versions of both these parties. Better and informed engagement will get us there much faster than continuing to play political Tug of War.
Maybe keep in mind that the Trump family and the right wing, in general, are very closely involved with high ranking members of Scientology. An example is two notable attendees at MSG. Grant Cardone and the Nation of Islam. Both are very closely involved with the organization. And the potential head of the military is considering getting Tom Cruise on board for recruitment advertisements. From my understanding of the organization, there are many promoting their Heath Products and Health Gurus like someone calling themselves a Doctor are promoted in the organization. They’re taking hold on right wing podcasts where few look past the money earning potential of these brands. I think Joe Rogan might be a friend of at least one.
Exactly I feel like the left needs to take a deep look at themselves and ask why someone as insane as trump was able to actually beat them in an election.
Hello fellow Portlander! I will look up your permaculture business, I am also interested in feeding my neighbors with fresh, healthy food, but am unfortunately stuck in a low income apartment without so much as a balcony to grow things (and kittens that make growing things indoors impossible)
Don't eat meat and 90% of the poisoning problems go away. Most families I am acquainted with eat massive amounts of fast food from McDonalds burgers to Domino's pizza. Salt, fat and sugar are king, again the majority of this type of food is just like poison it just takes longer
Great video. I am just discovering your content and am a fellow PDXer. I recently met up with an old HS friend for happy hour & discovered that she is on the wellness industry red pill pipeline. She said she was excited for RFK Jr and I almost choked on my bacon-wrapped prawn. I froze so didn't have a good response. Would welcome ideas.
You left out the raw milk that RFK is a big proponent of. Raw milk can go either way. Not to mention removing flouride from water and doing away with "seed oils".
Not an RFK supporter by any means, he’s said some bizarre things, and I feel he may have mental health issues. That said, when we criticize capitalism, we shouldn’t exempt the pharmaceutical industry or its 'science.' Take the massive Alzheimer’s drug debacle as an example. Mass labeling anyone who questions these practices as 'anti-science' only perpetuates the problem. We have a replication crisis amongst scientific studies for a reason
Oh, I absolutely agree that every aspect of our society that runs on profit rather than community care should be open to criticism. Including the for-profit healthcare industry, including media that relies on add revenue, and definitely including big ag.
Exactly. Something that the Health Gurus don’t want to talk about. They’ve sold out, unfortunately. Wellness culture relies on science not giving mega corporations more free access to markets. I doubt that RFK jr or Trump know anything about regenerative agriculture or permaculture. Working collectively is what’s needed. Not divisive leaders good at marketing, but poor on delivery to the average consumers.
I think we’re usually talking about Glatt phosphate and Neonicitide, Lowering arsenic. Our foods are less dense, because modern monoculture, large scale, farm agriculture destroys our soil, and after the dust bowl, the government realize they need to protect the topsoil in this country but then over the past 40 years, they’ve chipped away and chipped away at the regulations That protected the ground soil and they’ve also dried up pull out of the ground water. Why do we allow a desert like Arizona to be calmer this ginormous golfing center all that grass is sucking the life out of the state and damaging the Colorado River
These crunchy people reminded me of a weird exchange i had while working at my clothing store job. She (a white mom and her husband) was frustratedly looking for 100% cotton kids coats but the majory of the fall/winter clothing has some polyester, nylon, polyamide, spandex , etc. and i sort of felt bad for their girl child who might've been at home. Yes, natural fibers are great and fine, but having parents that limit your clothing choices out of fear of plastics because they are "endocrine disruptors" because.. maybe they are afraid of plastic making their kid gay, or trans, or ADHD / autistic/ depressed / could definitely cause unnecessary stress on that kid. They're gonna absorb the message that any sickness or variation from the majority she might exhibit later is all her fault, which no kid should have to feel responsible about. Crunchies unchecked by science are unfortunately eugenicists with a coat of eco-friendly green paint on them.
I often worry about the eugenics angle in many crunchy circles. Probably because I have two AuDHD kids (I can see where it came from... it's only new that it's labeled!), one with chronic ailments. The amount of acting like I could've done something to prevent it is crazy-making. There's eating well to avoid exacerbating the situation and there's thinking it would've been a preventative or a cure. And no, anti-vaxxers, I'd rather not have taken the risk of death via preventible disease over their lives with autism. That's appalling.
Goodness, someone besides me knows of The Jungle by Upton Sinclare! I was an avid reader and sometime, in 5th grade i think, i hastily reached to the library's shelf while seeking The Jungle Book; it was jarringly different but also riveting as I lear ed history could be interesting and encompassed by fiction. I do l known that i ended up with Rebecca by Dalphine Du Muir that year while seeking Rebecca of Sunybrook Farm to appease an aunt's reading wishes for me. I read the whole book and avoided any discussion of it with that aunt except to say that i had checked out Rebecca (as she called it) and i was enjoying it.

I am a The Longevity hacker, but I would not expect everybody to live by my standards. I do feel that RFK Junior lacks the subtlety and attention to detail to do anything safely if you are a responsible neighbor, have dairy animals that you work with and you can be confident of their health you can enjoy raw milk, but you know what happened before pasteurize milk. People just died often children they got profoundly ill without inspector’s milk gets water down to the point where it’s more likely to get infectious this is not gonna go well. by all means, we should have an attempt to introduce healthy lower carb options because over half of Americans have prediabetes or diabetes but whatever he’s doing it’s not gonna go well never forget you do not know if it’s him talking or the brain worm talking and I know it’s dead, but that doesn’t actually improve the situation and he got a brain worm because he ate weird, funky things.
RFK Jr. has some totally reasonable positions on food/diet and health and also an overuse of pharmaceuticals in the context of chronic disease. Everything else is insane.
I realize I came for the permaculture but the politics here is too much. I may be in the wrong space. I believe I disagreed with most of what you said here. I’m hopeful for our future, so many embracing the old ways of our grandmothers and great-grandmothers. I’m hopeful for inflation relief. I’m hopeful for a secure border. I’m hopeful my children will be able to afford a comfortable home for their families that won’t cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. Even if Kamala had won, I would try to be hopeful. It’s just an election. Living the lives God gave us to the full each day is what’s needed. We all judge each other too much. Pray, Hope, and Don’t Worry.
Just wondering if you are familiar with Joel Salatin. He knows very much about food saftey, the over regulation of food production, giving control back to producers who truly believe in providing everyone with access to healthy food at a reasonable price, and doing so without making people ill. Surely, since your are a permaculturalist, you must have come across his many books, articles, seminars.
First time watching and honestly after 5 min ...not a clue what your point is and I admit I stopped watching. I think you were leaning against RFK but it's too late unless trump changes his mind. I wonder if he will get trump to eat healthier although I really don't care unless he would be a role model for his cult. Our country is run by big business and that is why the gov't promotes so much unhealthy food and makes it taste so delicious...until it doesn't if one eats a nutritious diet. I worked in NYC public schools and as a teacher I was often able to convince parents to take the time to make a healthy lunch instead of the school lunch. The US would be wise to check out school lunches in Japan.
I am starting the MASA movement -Make America Sane Again....also a wonderful base for holiday tamales...😉
Yes!
HAHA = Help America Heal Again ❤️🩹
The problem with any of these M-formulas slogans starts with the first word "MAKE" because no amount of legislation is going to force a change - and it shouldn't. This was a lesson from the Prohibition era. . . but here we are again. People have to choose a life of health and integrity, it can not be forced no matter which politic.
@ agreed, it’s fascism and exactly what we’re seeing play out in real life, Trump is MAKING America “great” again (for rich white ppl).
@@creativefilmsmusic This is an excellent point. Removing choice and using force rarely goes well, especially in a country that is supposedly all about freedom.
MAQA… make America quiet again
I recall when Michelle Obama was First Lady, and she was encouraging healthier eating, people went berzerk crying, “She’s going to take away our tater tots, Mountain Dew, burgers, and potato chips!! She must be stopped!! ” And any time people bring up the issues with our food and water supply, there is the outcry that such concerns is “propaganda”. So I find it peculiar that people are not immediately shutting down RFK Jr. Just proves it’s not the message, it’s the messenger.
I find myself wondering if racism and misogyny was at play. A black woman advocating for children didn't seem to get through to some people?
I was coming to say the same thing.
Different subgroups. The health food people like rfk jr and tended to be liberals, their racism is subtle and they dont think they are racist. Its a different group saying dont take my burgers and mountain dew. Those are the ones getting diabetes and dying young from heart disease.

I had a client the other day tell me how he was excited that RFK was going to get the poison out of the food. I was like, you know that you can avoid that stuff, right? I’ve been avoiding it for decades. Just eat whole foods . Grow a garden. No one is forcing you to drink Pepsi.
We started our own garden a few years ago, but I need to figure out where to get healthy food in the off season - also farm-raised meat and eggs.

Practically all RFK talks about is giving power back to the ppl with common sense measures. Practically everything is anti-capitalist as well - very in-line with the Michelle Obama thing which was great. If his work as environmental lawyer was legit - if ppl agree he applied reason and facts -
and he did that shit for 35 YEARS, then why do ppl assume that wouldnt the case here...? Do you guys think the Means-siblings are lying? Just curious.

Food not lawns: how to turn your yard into a garden and your neighborhood into a community
Heather Jo Flores
Except they’re making gardens illegal by making seeds illegal, and producing plants that don’t seed and can’t be replanted. Not to mention tainting soil with herbicides so you think you’re buying miracle grow soil
and you put it all in your flower bed and nothing will grow and you find out it’s the manure because the cows ate hay that have an herbicide and it lasts for a decade in the soil until enough grasses have grown and been taken away to bring it back out of the soil.
Too many useless county ordinances. Magat government doesnt want us to have gardens or grow food.
I love how many are turning their ornamental gardens into mixed gardens with both vegetables and compatible ornamentals as companion plants. And homeowners innovating with their spaces is fascinating to see. Some urban areas even allowing chickens, without roosters.

Thanks so much. I also don't understand how anyone would think that RFK Jr can be that person who will deliver clean healthy food to our neighborhoods. After all, the man has always prided himself on the fact he will eat just about anything. FDA has been ineffective for a long time.
Ecoli is back on the menu.

When Kamala cozied up to the Cheneys are you really surprised?
Few other facts -
(1) Most of the public is not even ready to talk, forget about forming communities for any good transition.
Unless the for-profit medicine bill from 1972 is repealed and we get some sane nutrition standards, nothing is going to change. I agree that we are being deceived by MAHA and the system as a whole. Grow your own food and learn about herbal remedies. Food can be grown in a window seal, on a patio, on the kitchen counter, in a flowerbed, as well as the traditional places.
So agreeing with you…been increasingly sad and so heartbroken seeing the ‘wellness-yoga-fitness-apparently ultra spiritually aware- soulpreneurs- coaching -self self self financially aggressive/ambitious ’ groups - all of whom I have watched slide drastically to the right, all embracing this MAHA, ultra right-wing MAGA and conspiracy cultures. So sad, quite isolating…. So just know this, I am wholeheartedly applauding you, Parkrose Permaculture, and am really grateful and so appreciative of your posts. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Thank you! I appreciate this content.
Rebel economic developer here. So glad to have found you!
Thank you for this.. I've unsubbed from some channels because of their support for Trump/RFK Jr even though they (the channels) were promoting good health.. it just boggles my mind how they could think these individuals are going to actually help people be healthier
MAGA! 🇺🇸
Exactly my point. How will they make money from natural immunity?? I'm afraid to ask.
I’m not sure that he will actually do anything.
Summer child
The minute corporate interests complain to Dear Leader, he will be axed; DJT's personal behavior is direct evidence as to whether he values individual health or monetary wealth, more.
He wants to get rid of vaccines. Measles will run rampant with him in charge
I hear MAHA and I think of Amanda Bynes's Crazy Courtney character.
Your describing my best friend. It's very difficult. 🙌🤮💔
The Jungle applies to the pharmaceutical industry as well
5:11 *Trump deregulated our food industry in his last term but why didn’t Biden fix it?
Exactly I feel like the left needs to take a deep look at themselves and ask why someone as insane as trump was able to actually beat them in an election.
Hello fellow Portlander! I will look up your permaculture business, I am also interested in feeding my neighbors with fresh, healthy food, but am unfortunately stuck in a low income apartment without so much as a balcony to grow things (and kittens that make growing things indoors impossible)
Crunchy mom who loves science
Don't eat meat and 90% of the poisoning problems go away. Most families I am acquainted with eat massive amounts
of fast food from McDonalds burgers to Domino's pizza. Salt, fat and sugar are king, again the majority of this type of
food is just like poison it just takes longer
Im concerned about another pandemic happening if he gains traction and more people decide to be anti-vax...😢
I also agree that our food could become more dangerous under Trump and we need to be careful about what we buy!
@@ParkrosePermaculture Good to hear. Now say something positive instead of just bashing RFK.
@@charlesdevier8203 hey, that comment gives big "you should smile more" vibes. Do better.
Why would I lie to my followers?
@@charlesdevier8203 She says lots of positive things in her videos but what positive thing can be said about RFK?
Saw this happen in 2016.
I hope RFK Jnr can help fix the floors in Organic Certification but I'm not going to hold my breath
We? I didn’t vote for the Trump nightmare. It’s them.
The crunchy to alt right pipeline is so real
The wahaha.
These people want to drink unpasturized milk, its not about health to them.
Bryony Claire just did a deep dive _precisely_ on this! "Crunchy/granola to alt-right pipeline". Honestly love her so much, she brings up some valid points how this might happen, it's worth a watch
thank you I will check her out!
@@ParkrosePermaculture you are welcome, all the way from Germany! 😇😇 Love your content so much. I hope that if USA gets too unbearable, you can always come back! That's something to always keep in mind for Americans horrified at this election: Europe desperately needs smart and hardworking people like y'all ❤
My eldest kid is planning on studying abroad in Germany next year and I can't wait to go visit her!
@@Li_ToblerYeah, that's what I keep thinking, come to Germany, at the moment it's still better here. I just fear that the right-wing craziness will keep spreading here through social media and money Thiel/Musk/Koch and others pump into anti-democratic groups and parties like the AfD (as if they wouldn't already get enough money from Putin 🙁).
MAHA..ha ha ha
RFK Jr. has some totally reasonable positions on food/diet and health and also an overuse of pharmaceuticals in the context of chronic disease. Everything else is insane.
His anti vaccine stance outweighs anything else he believes in. Measles under him with come back with a vengeance
I'm curious to see what happens... I remain optimistic and hopeful for the future 😊
'the over regulation of food production'. Joel Salatin is a far right grifter. And go google Boar's Head listeria meat recall and get back to us.
Democratic tears are so salty Doctor of Looney Tunes.
That's so creepy and weird. I can't imagine why some of you are talking like this. It's embarrassing.
