    Drew: Congrats, one of your best videos so far. Based on this video I can't wait to order this card for our X32 at church in Puerto Rico. Please pray for us so we get electricity back as soon as God permits. Since hurracaine Maria, on Sept 20, we lost power and 70% of our island still has no electrical power (approximately 3,000,000 people). Our church is Casa del Padre and my pastor is Luis Roig. Cordially, Miguel Portillo

    Very nice Drew and lucky you to get your hands-on one lol. Just one glaring omission that i may have missed -- no fast forward or reverse for shuttling through tracks to get to a specific point. the markers are ok, but to sit and wait all the way through a file to get to a point you need perhaps near the end of the file will end up being frustrating i think,

    One question--your discussion of the USB Interface 32 in/32 out setting seems to say that this affects recording to the SD card. Isn't this just for the recording to laptop through the USB output of the X-live card?

    I live in Burundi (a country in East Africa).
    I would like to ask you to make a video on the "Behringer S32" stage box because we would like to know how to use it in its entirety in our Church, and until now I have only seen several videos well explained on the S16.
    Thank you, you are a blessing to all of us who follow you on UA-cam.

    Enjoyed the video Drew Brashler thank you. Question- when I recorded my band using the x-live card i followed all your instructions in your videos, but 3 of the instruments didn't record. Each of those 3 were routed from aux inserts into channels 5, 6, and 7. all the instruments that used a DI or mic and directly into their channels recorded fine. Any thoughts? besides go buy more DI's

    Hey Drew, love your work - question - on the X-Live, if recording 8 channels, what does the X-Live card default to? Which 8? I would guess 1-8, yes? the 16 would be 1-16, and 32 1-32. I want the X-Live to record whatever 8 I decide, but I don't see that as being possible.

    Drew - Great video! Was excited to give this a whirl so I could mix without the band and dial in my mixer settings, but ran into a problem this past weekend. I think it's in routing. I have AES50 for channels 1-24 (on stage) and local for 25-32 (in back of room for IEMs and Wireless Mics @ board). I set these settings for the card "Record" part. I also had these defined the same way in the Card Out tab. The "Play" part was card 1-32. But I had some channels muted (actually ocmpletely dead) during my XLive recording of my show. I stopped the recording, but could never recover those dead channels (which were all my local 25-32 channels). Might you or anyone know 1) how I can route to record my 32 channels (AES50 for 1-24, Local 25-32), 2) playback all of these for virtual soundcheck and 3) not have this muted issue? THX!!!

      I had the same issue. I had to play with the routing and finally got it to work. You have to make sure that when you toggle between the record/playback modes that you actually press in the knob to select the correct mode and then adjust your routing. I kept turning the knobs but forgetting to actually press it in to confirm my selection. Hope this helps some.

    • @DrewBrashler
      @DrewBrashler  6 років тому

      Great question. Yes, tests with larger than 32GB have been used, however, FAT32 format is only supported at a max size of 32GB. Therefore, if you have issues with larger cards, most likely that is the problem.

    • @themiddlecase
      @themiddlecase 6 років тому

      Just some food for thought, FAT32 isn't limited to 32GB in and of itself; Microsoft set the 32GB partition size limit in recent versions of Windows in order to promote NTFS. Most other operating systems support up to around 2TB.
      That having been said, has Behringer specifically limited their FAT32 partition size support, or is it just a recommendation to avoid having trouble creating partitions in Windows?

    • @keithericksen5756

      Manu Brown I have the same question. Do you now know at what point the signal is taken off for the card? I would guess that when AES50 is selected as the recording source, that the signal to the card would be post gain only, and before anything else. Is this correct?

    • @acidstorm001
      @acidstorm001 3 роки тому

      @@keithericksen5756 If it's the same as the USB interface was, it's post gain without any signal processing. You have to do some work-a-rounds to get the signal processing included. Drew goes over that in another video. I don't recall how to set it up that way, as I prefer the raw signal so I can mix it in a DAW later. I think it's the best way to record anyhow, as anything baked in that doesn't sound good can't be undone. Things like EFX may sound find during a live performance, but baked into the mix when playing it back on monitors or a stereo system at lower levels without all the band noise, those EFX may be too overwhelming or the EQ maybe not right , etc.

    the X-Live card can also handle bigger SD-card than 32 GB. But you can´t format SD cards with more than 32 GB within the card (x32 / m32 mixer)
    You have to insert larger SD cards into your computer and format them to fat32 if you want to erase recordings on them an reuse the cards with the X-Live card.
    Please always test the cards before use. That is also useful for 32 GB cards. The card have to be fast enough (Class 10).

      You can set it up to do 2 track recording, just depends on your routing to a laptop, or you can use the USB port on the top of the console. You wouldn't directly use the x-live card to do ovedubs, but you can use it with a DAW to do that.
