To hear a true acapella masterpiece check out HF's version of "Brothers In Arms".
Hope you enjoy this "rabbit hole".

Home Free is the best--period. It's easy to forget they are completely acapella and make all "instrumental" sounds themselves.
In this song they are making a distinct southern (bluegrass) presentation--it definitely fits the lyrics of the song. Chance doing the jaw harp sound really sets the stage for this song's story, which Austin's twang fits phenomenally. Tim's bass line completely grounds the harmonies and Adam's voice percussion simply cannot be beat. This performance highlights a lot of Home Free's strengths although they also handle ANY other genre just as amazingly❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️
Some of my favorites are "Working for a Living", "Land of the Free", "Elvira" (with the Oak Ridge Boys), "Undivided", "Ain't Goin' Down 'Til the Sun Comes Up" (which is not on YT--it's on their official Facebook page) and now "Listen to the Music" 😍!

Adam Rupp (beatboxer) is not called "human drumkit" and "freak of nature" for nothing. 😉 Tim Foust (bass) is a rich basso profundo - deepest of basses who rattles chairs and ribcage in concerts but he can actually go up to high tenor easely. Austin Brown is their cristal clear high tenor (in the middle here), Rob Lundquist is the lead tenor with a soulful warm voice and Adam Chance is the baritone who covers bass whenever Tim takes the lead.

This was the first song I ever heard from Home Free & I was instantly hooked. The talent of these 5 men is insane. They are known for their tight harmonies. Tim Foust is one of the best bass singer in the business & Adam Rupp their beatboxer extraordinaire can make any sounds & is in a class by himself. They lean towards country but can sing any genre. They are my favorite a cappella group. This song is very old & is done in the bluegrass country style. It was used in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" starring George Clooney.

I just found your channel with your "Brother" reaction (which needed a "10" score) so I subscribed for more Home Free! I've been a "Home Fry" for over 4 years & this was the song that introduced me to them & I've been an addict ever since. They don't make a video under a 9.5! These 5 guys are THE best in vocal performance, production, arrangements, humility, generosity & goofiness. One song that will help you learn their names is "Workin' for a Livin'" It shows each of their names as they get out of their "news van"! Two of their great newer songs are "Listen to the Music" & "Ain't Going Down Til the Sun Comes Up" (it's on their Facebook page NOT UA-cam). They have over 200 videos on UA-cam & there's not a bad one in the bunch! They don't do "covers"! They do "upgrades", but their originals are incredible too!😊

The jaw harp sound at the beginning was produced by Adam Chance using a throat singing technique.
Adam Rupp is the great producer of most of the other beatboxing music.
All the Home Free crew can do some beatboxing as well.

Home Free was on the NBC show the Sing Off and they won it in 2013. They are an amazing a cappella band. They sing a lot of covers but also write and sing their own songs. They went back to the roots of the song. It was written in 1913 or so and had a bluegrass style. Chance (last one in the video) was doing the mouth harp. They can all beatbox to a degree but Adam (beatboxer) is amazing. (I loved O Brother Where Art Thou but the song was a cover too). Tim, the bass, has a 5 octave range so he can sing super low, and sing up with the tenors. Not kidding. Try Country Roads, Helplessly Hoping, Brothers in Arms, Die a Happy Man. Good reaction Salty.😀

If I was you, I would try some of their older stuff, when Chris Rupp was there.
Chris are Adam's big Brother, and co founder of the group.
"Crazy life", "Everything Will be okay", "Anyway the wind blows", are all originals, and shows of their funny/ soft side.
Listen to them talk after the song in "Crazy life", hillarious.

Amazing reaction my friend Salty!!....In 2017, the music world was shocked by the bursting onto the scene of a 22-year-old singer named Dimash Kudaibergen, who performed on the famous Chinese competition show for professional singers called “The Singer”... It was just It was necessary for this young man to make his first appearance, making a cover of one of the most difficult songs in the world, a famous French composition called "S.O.S. D'un Terrien En Détresse", to be considered from that moment on as the best singer in the entire planet....No one in the musical field had ever seen a human being, being able to reach vocal ranges above 7 octaves and several semitones, that is, all 88 keys of a digital piano, which reaches a little more than 7 octaves and as if that weren't enough, sing the more than 12 languages...Since then all kinds of experts (Vocal coach, analysts, singing teachers, youtubers, reactors, etc.) have dedicated themselves to reviewing their presentations to try to understand how someone can sing this way...The incredible thing is that that presentation in China was in 2017 and 5 years have passed since then, but what Dimash has done in these 5 years is to further improve his wide vocal range, which is currently practically above of the 8 octaves... The Covid pandemic stopped his concerts worldwide, all with tickets sold in just seconds, via the internet, but at the same time it ended up catapulting him to the top of popularity worldwide...Anyway, since I think you are one of those reactors who have not yet met this impressive singer, here is the link of that presentation in China in 2017, with the song S.O.S. and I would like you to mention my name as the person who recommended him to you...You have to be prepared because you ar going to receive an avalanche of views, comments and new subscribers....I leave you one more recent video than the others, so it does not have the same number of views as the previous ones, which have millions of views, but it is a more complete video, with an intro, subtitles in several languages and with the improved quality of audio and sound....ua-cam.com/video/bDX3FhmyNac/v-deo.html

I started falling in love with a Capella groups about 3 years ago, and never looked back.....just the skill alone, in creating instruments like in a band, with just their voices, sets these groups apart from all the rest, and their skills are beyond mention! One of the thing I also appreciate as well, as they seem to be able to cross genres with ease, as in the case, where Home Free is generally Country, they can also do soul, rock pop, and everything in-between..I would love you to check out their version of Boyz 11 Men's version of End of the Road, just so you can see their versatility 😊

First, it's nice to see a geezer like me doing reactions. Second, I love home free. Third, there are two more acapella groups to check out.
    1. Pentatonix - I'd recommend Sounds of Silence, Hallelujah, or White winter hymn to get started. They are very different from home free but sound like angels.
    2. Voice play, not a big catalog of music, but some serious harmony.
    Hang in there.
    Edit:
Ring of fire, Home free with the bassist from Pentatonix.

Home Free is incredible. Everything they do is great. And although they are a Country A-cappela group, they can really sing all genres. They really all have great voices with their own specialties. Even Adam Rupp who started the group with his brother Chris Rupp. Chris left the group in 2016 to go solo but also to start other projects with his sister, among others.
Adam Rupp-Beatboxer but is actually an inhuman freaking good mouth artist.
Tim Foust- Deep bass but also as a tenor and everything in between is possible.
Austin Brown-High tenor with his great runs and high notes.
Rob Lundquist (beard and glasses)-Tenor, with a voice like velvet and so much soul.
Adam Chance (back left, who is called Chance) - Baritone/ Bass, a voice so smooth and sexy. And who here also makes the Jaw harp sound.
There is no lead singer in Home Free. They look at every song whose voice suits it best, no egos, no rivalries, great personalities etc. Besides, they can all beatbox (see their live performance 9to5). ..
This is one of the many covers they do in addition to various originals, and each one is just amazing.

Tim Foust and Geoff Castellucci / VoicePlay collaborated on the song arrangement of Elvira that Home Free sang with The Statler Brothers. This was a fun reaction! Home Fry here (Home Free fan). I always enjoy watching people discover Home Free do the video I saw first and was immediately hooked by! Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole (you’re so doomed, but in a good way) … and Home Fries will come and point the way (but don’t worry, on the whole, we’re a pretty enthusiastic but friendly group🙃).
I caution you not to react to Mayday until you know the guys and what they do. 😉
Let’s introduce you to our guys:
Front left in the video, we have the silky smoothness of tenor Rob “the beard” Lundquist. His lead in End of the Road is a must-see. I also love him in Bless the Broken Road and Blue Ain’t Your Color.
Back left is the smokey smooth baritone/bass Adam Chance, called Chance due to another Adam in the group. He took over for co-founder Chris Rupp, who left on good terms to pursue other things. Chance is the one doing the mouth harp here. I love his lead in Helplessly Hoping, Sea Chanty Medley, Winter Song, One Man Band, and Brothers in Arms - a fantastic tribute to troops and an absolute must see!
Center is the high tenor, the fabulous Austin Brown. When A Man Loves a Woman.
That’s all that needs to be said.
    Seriously.
Back right is founding member Adam “freak of nature” Rupp, tenor/beatboxer/vocal percussionist. He has several good drum solos (look for the one with the red plaid shirt), and to see his genius for arrangement, Do You Hear What I Hear, which (in my opinion) not only shows all individual talents, but also how well they blend as a group. In that video, you also see Chris Rupp. I highly recommend watching Adam’s “nomonica” in Ain’t Goin Down (Til the Sun Comes Up), which is only on Facebook due to some kind of copyright issue (but you can react to it on YT). It is amazing. In a rare video where you can hear him sing (he doesn’t often, and apparently doesn’t like to solo), How Great Thou Art.
Last, but not least, front right, basso profundo with a 5+ octave range: Tim Foust, who is apparently part dragon. His range, control, and breath support on his low notes is out of this world. He co-leads in Brothers in Arms. You should also check the collaboration with Avi Kaplan (former PTX bass) in Ring of Fire. I also love him in Hillbilly Bone, In the Blood, My Church, The Butts Remix (which should be watched for comedic value alone!), All About the Bass, and Champagne Tastes (which he wrote). There are several videos of “Uncle Tim Runs His Mouth” or “Story Time With Tim” that are pretty funny and worth watching.
To see their amazing harmonies, see How Great Thou Art, Helplessly Hoping, Mary Did You Know, and (again) Brothers in Arms. I also recommend Tim’s collaboration with Peter Hollands in Misty Mountains. These guys switch leads depending on who they think will be the best. They have no egos, and collaborate with other groups/artists frequently. They lean country, but obviously do many styles of music. They are amazing, talented artists and genuinely nice, funny, down to earth people, too. Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole. It’s deep, but you’ll never want to escape!

The lead singer on this (Austin Brown) spent years in college (on a full music scholarship) trying to nullify his Georgia accent. When he joined Home Free they told him to stop trying. The bass (Tim Foust) has a 5 octave range and the beatboxer (Adam Rupp) has won 2 world championships in beatboxing. There's a video of him doing a drum solo taken by an audience member at a live concert.

@7:42, that's not normal. Actually, that is his normal speaking voice. When Tim hits the low notes, he breaks speakers.

I'm a hardcore PTX fan but man these guys are pro, especially Tim the bass and their lead singer. I am not the world's biggest fan of the country genre but DAMN these guys know what to do and how to make it sexy. I can't help but love it. Thanks for reacting! I hope you have reacted to the Ring of Fire song, I'll check for that after, if not, definitely react to it! Especially if you want to hear DEEP AF voices.

I subbed. Loved your reaction, all of these guys can sing and make the background noises too and really you don't miss the instruments. To me, it's a true raw talent. They have hundreds of videos, but if you like this you might like some Johnny Cash "Folsom Prison Blues" or Kenny Rogers "The Gambler" covers they do, and if you like them, you would like the collaboration they did with The Oak Ridge Boys singing "Elvira"

\o/ They have so many songs in their catalogue it is hard to pick out something for you to watch. For something fun, try the Butts Remix, you will love it. For old school, their version of Patsy Cline's Crazy.

There don't seem to be enough words to describe these guys... I've been a music fan over 70 years and I haven't heard any group that I have enjoyed almost every single thing they did... Elvis and the Beatles were good, but again on an album you'd maybe get a few good pieces. It seems like every song they release just gets better. Check out their Butts Medley and In The Blood, End of the Road, and When a Man Loves a Woman. All awesome. I'm trying really hard to keep my suggestions short and it's taken me most of the last year! Love your reaction and have subbed hoping you'll react to more Home Free.

    Salty, most reactors start
with this one then go to their cov1er of Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire." It should not be missed, but as another old dude old enough to remember them, I think you would enjoy their collaboration with the Oakridge Boys. That's right. "ELVIRA!"
