How dare
Too bad one can put only one thumb up! I'd put many. Schiff interpretation of this piece is otherworldly - particularly the Allemande.
I don't like how he played the courante but everything else was beautiful. ;)
You mean this:👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

András Schiff’s musicianship is so out of this world that it reduces me to tears. Sometimes it seems that he comes from another planet.
This is a pretty easy song as far as Bach goes and still he makes it appear so effortless and gentle. Like his fingers are just barely touching the keys and the piano sings
@@DangerRussDayZ6533 He plays with no tension at all. That's also why his trills are so clear and unique.

Not in the human realm at all!
I love J. S. Bach's music especially Andras Schiff. Very beautiful ! Thank you very much ! Master
I find solace in the intricate details of classical compositions. The nuanced phrasing, the subtle crescendos, and the delicate pauses create a mesmerizing experience that allows me to escape into a world of beauty and artistry. 🌺🎶

when i feel stressed this calms me down. just a stunning interpretation
Allemande beautifully played., without any use of the sustain pedal, excellent

Beautiful execution, such perfectly steady rhythm and even touch...Beautiful hands as well.
Schiff + Bach = Music of God.
Even with all this quarantine time on my hands playing at this skill takes so many years of just experience, at least I have the Allemande almost at tempo haha
It’s ok not to be that good. Most of us aren’t
My favorite out of the piece, what inspired me to learn it!
You got it!!
Great pianists, great violin players - they have to constantly, incessantly work on their art of playing an instrument - many hours of hard work every day, throughout decades. And yet, great instrumentalist musicians - pianists, violinists…complete orchestras with up to 100 (or more) musicians - even the greatest of them - are just our welcomed and trusted conduits for carrying, delivering, and relating to us - through the fabric of SPACE - TIME - the Creation of a Divine Genius. The creation of music, especially the music of such beauty lies on another, higher plane…it is a Divine Act. Composers like Mozart...or Bach, in this case, are these CREATORS.
❤
I like a lot of Bach's music, but the French Suites are my favorite.
I am learning Allmede and Schiff is really helping me.
Me too ! He's really helpful
Yes
Yeah Schiff is very helpful

I really like courante
Omg how does Bach come up with these divine melodies?
Schiff is like the dalai lama of music because his manner and expression as he sits there is just other wordly peace. The music makes me cry and just to watch him is so moving.
And i just met his music tiday
공감합니다.
Beutiful suit you play so great well done
If I must express myself in mathematics: Bach+Schiff=3 ❤
Bach's music - inspired directly from God...
I love to listen to his playing. I feel endless happy and all what disturbs my life disappears.
Beautiful... I am learning this right now and Schiff has an amazing rendition of this suite
how long did it take you to learn the whole piece?
it could take months to master for performance
I'm learning it too
I have recital with the suite in programme. Absolute favourite from these suites
It takes me about 3 to 4 weeks per movement.
The Allemande is one of most sublime pieces I know... It shares so much with Bach's inventions in C minor (both in 2 and 3 parts).
I have just heard him...he seems to me another Glenns Gould. I love his face expressions. How much would i like to meet such a person
without the humming...
His humming was lovely
I saw him doing a masterclass with this piece a few weeks ago. Amazing person!
This is honestly so helpful for someone that has to learn this suite. My teacher told me to look for his performance and "steal" what I can to perform it better. Beautiful beautiful rendition.
Oh wow my teacher told me the same😮
Classical and romantic at the same time - and neither is compromised.
Its barroco not romantic, romantic comes later
And neither is suiting!
There is a place for Bach played in a romantic style, and I don't think anyone does it better than Schiff.
This isn’t played in a romantic style
This is
This isn't.
he's literally sweating that's how well he plays
What a talent Sir schiff with all our Respect Thank you Sir
Fantastic music.
It takes your soul to float beyond the highest heaven.
Stunning story taler.
i didnt belive this was bach. damn hell thats good bach. reminding there is sth else from romantic and classic
He never sustains soprano melody above alto melody and everybody is ok with it.
One word: amazing
Allemande ,beautiful playing the real Bach ( JSB with soul ).😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
What is this minuet 2 I don't have it in my score of the french suites
Yeah, same. I’m very curious about this 🤔
darn this is SO perfect, I wish I could play this like him.
kevin wang well he did make a mistake towards the end, but it’s ok, we’re all human. And you’re right he is an amazing pianist.
@@adamchenadamov where?
It's a lot of practice but it's also a deep understanding of the theory
@@adamchenadamov I must have missed it, but keep in mind there are at least 2 versions of this. One version given from copies of Anna Magdalena Bach and the other from Kaysers copy
@@DangerRussDayZ6533 Thanks for sharing!
Dieses Video ist so perfekt, so dass ich das Gefühl habe den grossen Künstler wieder einmal live zu erleben es ist ein großes Erlebnis mit Bach und Sir Andras Schiff!😮
Schiff's performance is my reference for my own ongoing learning of this Suite now. So beautiful, clear, selfcontrolled, and understated. His Courante especially keeps me honest--it's so tempting to go "over"/turn it Romantic when playing it.
Andras Schiff can allways find the "linguistic" quality of Bachs music.
WOW
as much as i'm working on playing the allemande of this suite, i'm making sure that i work on copying his face expression and smoothness in finger movement. it really helps. what a flow
listening to Schiff will make it really challenging to listen to other renditions
not at all
Deliciosa. Te brinda armonía y esplendor. Gracias

He is an awesome pianist, but the piano tone, it sounds very musical.
All listeners look like they are holocaust survivors.... no offense though
표정이 완벽한 피아니스트군

Why is Menuet II missing in the Edition Peters, does anybody know?
This is a later version which in early one didn’t exist. If you check Bärenreiter you will get both
I don’t know
( Sigh ) just wonderful !
The expression on his face- as if he is transported by the music...
Disgusting advertisements. Blaspheme

Bach=divine
Why did he perform 2 minuets? I have the Henle-Urtext edition of the French suite and mine only has one minuet. Where did Minuet II come from?
I have Wiener Urtext and it has both. They tend to be a little more... than Henle for Bach. Barenreiter is better as well.
Nori Elisabeth Fahrig So am I required to find the other Minuet, or is it optional? Some recordings don't have Minuet II.
I don't think it's required. The differences in editions usually have to do with the original manuscripts that were consulted. I think the Barenreitter editions pride themselves on consulting all available manuscripts for their editions. So they for instance usually will include alternate versions. I know their WTC books do this. Pretty neat. The choice is yours as the performer what you will do. This is my opinion perhaps someone else will now the historical details further about the minuet inclusions
That minuet-2 BWV 813a appears on a early manuscript attributed to Johann Caspar Vogler which contain five suites. I
It's optional.
My Peters edition only has one minuet as does my Henle Verlag (pointed out below). I think the other minuet is optional. The Peters edition tends to not include alternate versions at least in the French and English Suites.

with his skill and that outfit this is definitely kung fu piano
Well! i really don't understand why listening to this music if gonna dislike?
The sound of music is beautiful
Bach is best..., and this is my favorite œuvre (Allemande), besides the cello-suites!!
이 곡은 천천히 듣는 게 내 취향이라 들을 때마다 0.75배 헤서 들음… ㅋㅋㅋ
OK - I am going to "re-learn" this now as an adult - so inspired to give it another try!
his face is relexed
Schiff has an overall warmth that Gould either didn’t possess or didn’t have time for. But both are my top two interpreters of solo keyboard JSB.
Watching from 🇫🇷
Thank you. 💙
What a beautiful suite
What bothers me about this is that he’s not holding the notes correctly in allemande, that’s kinda the point of all the weird fingering in Bach. But I think the rest is really good.
Sublime
Un de meilleur et unique musicien de nôtre époque, qui a transformé la sonorité de piano a la perfection💓🎻🎻🎻
Wonderful interpretstion.
Just starting Allemande and Courante very excited!

Absolutely superb!
The Henle edition of this suite does not have a Minuet 2...?
lflagr I just realized that with my IMSLP score!
Nicholas Tonini Yeah i did some poking around, some editions have an added Minuet 2, others do not.
necesito encontrar la partitura del minueto 2:cccc
Esta gratis en la página de IMSLP, en la edición de la Breitkopf de las 6 suites.
Awesome
Beautiful sounds...!!
…….
Stunning!
The allemande is so perfect, does he use the pedal?
I belive so..Schiff has been known to you light pedal in his bach
@@michaeltheophilus5260 he was strongly against the pedal a few years back and just recently started using lightly. He just used the pedal in a few passages where he couldn't do without it.
If you look at the dampers at around 1:40, you actually won't see them moving so k don't think be uses the pedal as the sound is homogenous during the piece compared to this excerpt.
@@Aezandris
Good to know, thanks..a stance on pedal usage in Bach influnenced by Glenn Gould, no doubt
@@michaeltheophilus5260 probably more so by his teacher George Malcolm who was a harpsichord player. Schiff has been taught about harpsichord properly which Gould hasn't as Scott Ross would tell you.
@@Aezandris ah ok thanhks..I forget the source, but he did acknowledge a debt to Gould's sense of clarity, not that I disbelieve your information about his primary influence😊
Oh my god ! This is so well played ! I can listen to this all day !!
