Wow bro!! You did an excellent job on this track. I heard a lot of remakes before and you can tell it's a remake, but it is really hard to tell with this one. Two thumbs up!!!
If I'm not mistaken, the vibraphone sound is a direct factory patch from the Casio CZs. This guy's demo: ua-cam.com/video/Y5gl_8cGHak/v-deo.html has it at 4:54, but he has a bunch of added reverb. And I'd consider it a possibility that the bass is from a CZ as well. It sounds more digital than analog.
2 years before I was born. This is a classic! I never really cared for this song but after you broke it down, I think I am starting to have a deeper appreciation for this. And I heard a mix of Funk Flex cutting this up on hot 97.
Why not just find Tone Capone via e-mail or something and ask him what he did? dude can't be that hard to find considering all the tracks that he has done.
Hey i like producing music too but im not really good with sampling and i was wondering how do you pick a simple instrument/sound from a song.. like how can you separate 1 sound from all the other sounds of the song. Please answer me i've always wondered about this
Ever do any more underground stuff? I would love you to remake some of Necro's old stuff like Underground or Black Helicopters by Non Phixion or Agent Orange by Cage

This is one of the greatest Hip Hop tracks produced by anybody. Bar-none! Released in 1995 and in 2019 it still goes hard.
