I'm a white guy who grew up in the midwest. Me and my friends used to drive around country roads and blast this song with the windows rolled up and a pipe or a joint getting passed around. This will always be one of my favorite weed songs.
I'm a German woman with Persian heritage and my mom listened to this constantly when she was pregnant with me. It's one of the first songs I remember jamming out to. Music is truly universal. God bless!
"Colors" Ice-T, "Slam" Onyx, "Posse On Broadway" Sir Mix Alot, "Mind Playing Tricks On Me" Geto Boys, "Me, Myself, and I" De La Soul, "Fight the Power", "911 Is a Joke", and "Bring the Noise" Public Enemy.....
I dont think we will ever have this kind of golden era in music again.. through out 90's to early 00 is just..👌 this beat still gives me chills every time..
Oakland stand up! They still play this song in the Bay. This is the hardest song to the ever come out of the Bay. the remix is fire to it has everybody from Oakland and E-40
The main source of the instrumental, is the 1987 song "Why You Treat Me So Bad" by Club Nouveau, in addition to 1973's "Jungle Boogie" by Kool and the Gang.
I am a 39 year old woman from the Netherlands and had this song playing in my head all day relaxing in the park, because I grew up with 90s hip hop. The era was a bit shit for other genres. I much prefer the 60s and 70s for soul and funk and rock. But it was the best era for hip hop. The melodies and beats were more iconic. Came to this page today to appreciate this song again. Was a young teen when this came out. I got 5 on it and gangster's paradise were the anthems. Lol. And Mariah Carey was a huge star that took over the world. Also, vividly remember when the movie The Bodyguard came out with Whitney Houston. Everyone was talking about it and crying tears. 😂Have you reacted to Led Zeppelin yet? Or possibly to Parliament-Funkadelic?
Thx for clearing that up cos I've seen Get Out and thought "Huh? I don't remember hearing this song in it..." I even looked it up and got nothing. So cheers. I'll look up "Us".
Now do the Remix version with Shock G and many other west coast rappers...it originally had 2 Pac on it....but he was in prison when the video was released. 👍
I caught the Luniz in Denver with Bone Thugs N Harmony Dec, 2019 at the Fillmore Auditorium. The smoke was so thick inside the venue you couldn’t take pics or even selfies 😆! These guys can still blaze! They had a dude dressed up like a gigantic blunt that danced around the stage and through the audience during their set😂! He was handing out joints with Luniz wraps on them as well as little sample bud bags with Luniz logos on them as well! A smoking good time was had by all! It’s Colorado too so it’s legal here 😉! Yes you will be enjoying this song forever now it’s a classic!! Great reaction as always my friend! Much ❤️ for you!!
Aaah, this hit me in the heart, i love this song, i always did! ❤️ I was a kid when this came out, and i didn't speak english yet, so i didn't understsnd any of it, but the instrumentals, the beat and the flow caught me instantly! It's funny to listen to it after years, when suddenly the words make sense 😄 Love your reaction too 😉❤️
@@baaz12 I don't know what your trying to say. A instrumental is a instrumental, UA-cam a instrumental of any song and 9 songs out of 10 won't have any vocals, hence it's a instrumental , FYI I'm been following Jay long enough to know what he means
Yes. That always drives me nuts when I hear someone using that word incorrectly. I've noticed that with several reactors. The word that they should use is instrumentation not instrumental.
Hip hop classic i remember being in high school when this masterpiece came.and remember in class had a crush on a girl in my math class.haha.good times.word up son
I’m an old skool DnB head and I used to blast the Urban Takeover remix of this from my car. I had 8 speakers, 2x10 inch enclosed subs and 3x500 Watt amps!
Now go play Club Nouveau "why you treat me so bad" where they sampled this from. Fun Fact: Luniz was the first rappers to use the phrase "Playa Hater" in their song "Playa Hata" in 95
If you want to play an "instrumental" of this, JSU (Jackson State University Sonic Boom Of The South) is very well known for their marching band playing this. Just search for it on UA-cam...especially of the video of them playing the song in rain...while wearing ponchos. They rocked on it! 😍
I had NO IDEA this song was even in that movie, Us! Lol 🤷🏾♀️ I’m old school, ok! This song brings back memories from my college days...and those were the days!! 👍🏾😉🙂 I can listen to this anytime! 💙 But when I hear this beat, I think of Club Nouveau’s “Why You Treat Me So Bad”!! It’s classic! (Check it out, Jay) 🎶 “Why u treat me so baddd? I don’t know why babyyyy!”🎶 😁
Oh boy this song is straight up memories piled in a slap dropped 1970s Cadillac with two 12s knocking in the back! Bone Thugs N Harmony has endless “green” essentials! They did a great one with Biggie too!
Honey, this song is sooooo tight!! Bravo for reacting! You are killing it! I’m new to you. Keep on keepin on, boo! You’ll find so many more treasures like this!
I am so sad I never got to experience the 90s. Imagine living in the US smoking cali weed the entire day, friends coming over, having barbecues and after that cruising in a car through your neighborhood
That song was so smooth and cool, I just had to learn the lyrics, without knowing a single word of English. Still can sing along 95%, only getting stuck at the abbreviations :) :) Learned years later what the song was about, or what any of the slang words mean :) Ahh, to be 16 again
Yeah it was us not get out lol
The song they sampled was Club Nouveau- Why You Treat Me So Bad
@@0bjones0 : Yes. Oakland style...
Honest mistake they’re both Jordan Peele movies so we can’t blame you
Bro you gotta listen to the remix, it's even better than this version if you can believe it.
E40 in the remix references this
The Original beat came from this group called Club Nouveau with their hit "Why You Treat Me So Bad" in case you didn't know... now you know.
I knew I heard it somewhere else! Other than this and the Diddy song
Knowledge.
... and nobody is reacting to Club Nuveau either! They got some joints.
I’m an 80s kid and I remember that song my sister jam to the club nouveau back in the day I think she went to one of their concerts
I did not know that. Thanks for the info.

👆 THIS... but in the UK 🇬🇧 👍
There is no skin colour in music. We can enjoy what we want to.

Same but in Scotland
This song was huge back in the 90s still sounds fire today 🔥
Nice profile pic ;)
It was all over the radio back in 1995.
I was 18 when this came out which, according to my mind, was yesterday.
I was 11 but I know exactly what you mean.
weird how that works i think of things 20 years ago as not long ago . i dont know where the time went
Goes quick huh?!
I thought I'd be a real adult when I was 40 ... I'm still an idiot though!!
@@commissaryarrick9670 I'd rather time fly than the alternative!!
but it was yesterday
otherwise, that means that we are.... old !
no, it can be !
It's one of the greatest beats in hip hop that's ever been produced. Instantly recognisable.
This song was THE SHIT in the 90's and 2000's man. Growing up if you didn't smoke out to this song, you weren't doing life right 😂
Old school classic bro these tunes will never be beaten
"Colors" Ice-T, "Slam" Onyx, "Posse On Broadway" Sir Mix Alot, "Mind Playing Tricks On Me" Geto Boys, "Me, Myself, and I" De La Soul, "Fight the Power", "911 Is a Joke", and "Bring the Noise" Public Enemy.....

The 90's were such a good time for hip hop, the list of great songs is huge.
One of the most recognizable beats from the last decades, amazing how well the whole song still sounds fresh.
That’s our homie singing the hook Michael Marshall. We all went to high school together

There are many rappers in Oakland ?

The main source of the instrumental, is the 1987 song "Why You Treat Me So Bad" by Club Nouveau, in addition to 1973's "Jungle Boogie" by Kool and the Gang.
Grew up with this song. The nostalgia is real.
Diddy used the beat on "Satisfy You".
I knew I heard it once upon a time somewhere else
Yep, 1999 I think, beast song too
Yasss
Also Jessica Simpson Irresistible Remix w/ Lil bow wow
And Lil Bow Wow.. Thank you (I think)
My Senior Year in High School 1995. Good times, thanks for the flashback ✌🏽

How could you not move to this; hip hop in the 80's & 90's were dope; the artists are brillant

The Luniz remix to this song is 🔥 prefer that version
💯

Everyone thinks it is Get Out but it was Us. Both movies by Jordan Peele. Both awesome.
I remember when this dropped, instant hit and always will be

"This is gonna be stuck in my head."
Tell me about it, been in my head over 20 years now (damn I feel old ... Enjoy your youth kids, it's gone QUICK)!
I used to play the instrumental to this on Halloween. Freaked people out.
I always thought that instrumental sample came from a Freddy Krueger movie.
Yes nothing like the 90’s, it was the bomb 👌🏼
I’m from The Bay and this song will always our town anthem
When I was in middle school I swore these was my jams- thanks mama 😂 and ❤❤❤ everyone late on the 80’s & 90’s frfr YAY AREAAAAAA

One of the best songs from the genre for that era, very underrated

I’m glad I was around at the right age at the right time when these songs came out. 70’s 80’s and 90’s best decades for music in my opinion.
one of my favorites of all time even though its before my time I still bump it daily

Their telling a story of how it was for all of us back in the 90s. R.I.P. THE 90S😢
This instrumental came from a R&B group name Club Nouveau, the tittle of the song is Why you treat so bad 1987 number 1 on the billboard.
FYI 'instrumental' is a recording without any vocals
When he says "the instrumentals" he refers to the music without the song/rap so I don't think he is wrong when he says it.
