Your garage is brill you have done a good job well done vauxhall are good to work on with lots of space I go twice on crank when finish keep the belt tight😊
Nice work. After flushing It's a good idea to replace the fan switch washer and also torque it to spec. As mentioned earlier, when replacing the belt it is also a good idea to replace water pump AND themostat with housing and housing bolts. Also you might want to check the plastic pipe going from radiator to water pump (below the intake) as they may have small cracks and could fail catastrophically. Always a good idea to make a pressure decay test on the cooling system before hitting the road.
That was bloody close mate, the bottom sprocket was starting to walk off. Another few seconds of cranking and it was chance of bent valves, you should have stuck the bottom pulley back on and done two full rotations of the bottom end to check timing marks and if the timing tensioner were in the correct spot too bud. Also it's honestly a false economy to do the belt and tensioner without changing the water pump, a bad idea if you plan to keep the car tbh. All that said I'm not trying to be a knob or anything, really enjoying these videos atm and can't fault your work and desire to get it spot on.
@@Jim_M_75 no worries I saw what I did when editing the video but I make a conscious effort not to cut mistakes out in the hope they may actually help others 👍
I appreciate that but I had to stop somewhere.. it’s going up for sale and I will be lucky to get all my money back as it is.. at least the belt won’t snap,

I’m selling the car pal so I had to stop somewhere,, I was worried about the sprocket myself, only intended on a quick spin.. all is good in the end
@@NicksGarageUk No probs mate, my reply came across a bit heavy reading it back but I'm not giving you crap, just happy nothing bad happened.

Good jop
👍
Hi mate are you selling the corsa if so how much would you be looking for it thanks
Nice work. But I’d of done the water pump. For the sake of a tenner
I appreciate that but I had to stop somewhere.. it’s going up for sale and I will be lucky to get all my money back as it is.. at least the belt won’t snap,
Yeah, if the water pump bearings fail it's the same as a snapped belt or failed tensioner.
@@NicksGarageUk yeah true. I get carried away sometimes. Spend a little to much.
@@Jim_M_75 I’ve seen them seize up and shred the belts. I normally do away with the tensioner as well and fit the short belt.
I didn’t know that was an option
False economy not replacing the waterpump when doing the belt.. why do the job twice when its better to do it once.
Fully appreciate what your saying but I’m not keeping the car and had to stop somewhere.
I could only dream of owning a car like this :(
