Why "his statement ...there maybe evolution...? why does Jeff Cavins doubt about this important point?" It takes faith to believe that which we cannot understand but the word of God states. The Bible says "... creation done in 6 days" no mention of the word "evolution." Thus, we either believe the Bible as it is written, or we do not believe the Bible. We have to be consistent. The creation cannot be explained with Science because the creation is supernatural in the realm of miracles; like the resurrection of our Lord Jesus after 3 days in the tomb. Science cannot explain how Lazarus resurrected after being dead for 3 days and his flesh had decomposed...yet Jesus rose Lazarus from the grave. Ergo, I believe that the word of God, The Bible, is true and there was no evolution process in the creation of the Universe.
Evolution is a just a scientific theory. Each Catholic is free to accept it or not. It does not contradict one's Catholic faith, since our own version narrates only about our salvation history. The book of Genesis should not be the basis for our scientific endeavors. So, each catholic is free study any scientific theories available out there regarding the birth of the universe.

Could you please put videos on bible study lessons on other books in the new testament so that we catholics have access to easy way of understanding scriptures. Hello! The Bible doesn't explicitly command it as you phrase it here, but it's worth checking out John 19:26-27 where Jesus gives Mary to his disciple John and vice-versa. The consistent understanding of the Church since earliest days was that John symbolizes all of Christ's disciples and thus Jesus has given Mary to be our mother. I kind of regret listening to these lessons now. This is my first time ever reading the bible. I heard that these videos were going to help me understand it. but i think i should finish reading it all first on my own. and then come back to this because, i have not read revelations, i have not been introduced to jesus just yet in the scripture so it kind of ruins the exitment... i feel that these videos are going to connect both the old and new testemant. but i feel i want to get the taste of them first. before i am overwhelmed with the back and forth stuff... i just finished leventicus. i wanted to understand genesis a little more in the sence of wethere i read it correctly which was in a more literal fashion but when he started connecting it to other parts of the bible it was alot like spoiler alerts. lol.. will definately come back to these lectures. after i am finished reading it all then. i wouldnt mind understanind the connections more.

Dear Catholic Church. This is a comment meant respectfully. Please come out of the shadows of the Galileo controversy and stop sitting on the fence. Stop trying to please God and humans by appealing to theistic evolution. I understand this talk may have not been the right occasion to address such issues, but the way things stand, saying that God could have used evolution , is a way to sweep the dust under the carpet or ignoring the elephant in the room. The Catholic Church seems to be appeasing modern views by being non committal on this subject, because it does not define what the RCC means by the type of evolution God could have used to create. Evolution, any naturalist will tell you, does not explain creation, but only the diversity of life. So why ride the evolution choo choo train? It explains nothing about creation anyway. So please stop saying that God could have used evolution
