    Neat, so much more style than the new stuff.

    Very nice looking bike well done hard to compare this great look to the modern bikes if the old look is better makes me old fashioned then I'm old fashioned. 👍.

    That's gorgeous 😊 ,want a harley just like that, but dark red with a kicker, tyers go nice, I can smell the metal, I had old 70s harely shovel, sportster, bobber style ,it was put together bad, that's why it was cheep .then someone wanted it without paying for it , broke my heart that was about 30years ago, and now I'm looking for inspiration to build my own ,,😊😊 lovely sound, straight pipes, 😊😊 yeh more fun than a big harley ,😊

    Engine sounds really sweet and mechanically quiet
    Watching the effort required on the kick-start tells me I'd definitely need a slightly later one with electric start
    Too old these days 😂

    Nice. Always prefer a Sportster over a big twin. Had an iron head Sportster in about '83, brand-new, though i was the second owner. Managed to nearly get knocked off by a side swipe in traffic in East London, i was 22 years old and had sold everything to get it. Traded it for a 900 Honda and some cash. Of course i now regret it. Life, eh..?

    That hits a really nice lick and looks great. My first Harley back in the '70s was a '60 XLCH. One word of warning, they have perhaps the worst kick start mechanism in the history of motorcycles, prone to disengaging mid-kick, resulting in a hyper-extended knee, aka the "Sportster knee". Make sure the kick starter shaft never gets exessive play to help prevent this.

      @Jacobbray  4 дні тому +1

      @@Boreascorax Too true. I go through the entire kicker mechanism and primary on every ironhead I’ve owned. Doing my best to prevent the dreaded sportster knee!!

    Beautiful bike. The sissy bar is a distraction though. See what your machine looks like without it.

      @@richardw.9579 Thank you. I generally prefer some sort of rack over a sissy bar. That may be a future project. I need something to strap a bag or sandwich to!

    nice i ride BSA/Triumph/Norton and don;t really care for HD but that type is very very good would not mind having a vintage XLCH

      I used to have a 1971 Tiger that I liked. It felt similar to a short-frame XLCH, quick and nimble. I would like to track down a pre-unit Triumph some day. I think that would be fun.

    Don't like the clear fuel line next to the hot motor. Could be a fireball situation. If you need to see the fuel get a filter and use the heavy line or wear your firesuit!? Thanks MK

    • @Jacobbray
      @Jacobbray  5 днів тому

      @@MatthewKubon The fuel like doesn’t touch the engine. Stays cool to the touch while the engine is running.
