The Tube was a British music television programme, which ran for 5 series (with 121 episodes), from 5 November 1982 to 26 April 1987. It was produced by Tyne Tees Television for Channel 4, live from Newcastle. It was an important outlet for the performers. In addition to being the launchpad for new and upcoming performers, The Tube became known for its high-profile music performance 'scoops' from established world class musicians. The cornerstone of the shows was the live performances from three or four bands each week. The Tube took its name from the plastic-roofed structure that linked Tyne Tees Studio 5 to the street.

1. if you are a fan of KajaGooGoo I'm sure you noticed mistake - the first song displayed title is: "Preparing myself for a fall". Of course that is incorrect, there is no song with such a title, the correct is just: KajaGooGoo (same as band name). "Preparing myself for a fall" is a phrase from "Interview rooms".
2. The vocals are live in this footage, but not the music.

What a great first song - Kajagoogoo !! That's a strange name, where is it coming from, that's a strange name..... AND let's not forget the FAB, Too Shy! I never tire of hearing that song. Oh What Could Have Been IF This Band Could Have Worked Out Their Differences Musically And Professionally.

Killer version of "Too Shy". Limahl's vocals are live but the music is the studio recording. It's sublime. Teenage years 1983.

Nick Beggs was and is a bass master. he has gone way beyond this band. Look at the albums he’s played on since whether it’s bass or Chapman stick. He is playing live and in the studio with the best musicians in the world. Look up Steven Wilson’s solo albums and sit back and enjoy that ride he takes you on. Worried if he can’t play live? Look up any videos with Steven Wilson live. The man has played around the world more times than you can spin a globe.

Even though I was still into punk etc they were a great band me & an ex(Siouxsie Sioux lookalike) went to see them in Aylesbury they were great we must of looked so out of place with all the teenage girls etc & they were Never New Wave 🤣

I think Chris had just an observation, without any offence intended, am I right? That said I did actually previously thought it is fully live, but without careful analysis.
Thank you. Yes, I wasn't seeking to offend, and for years I remembered this performance from the Tube, but when watching again, was disappointed to find it wasn't live at all. The awful fast fade ending of 'Kajagoogoo' gives it all away. Shame as I would have loved to have heard Nick's bass playing live.
Great bass player but it sounds like pretty tuneless
