    I love these!! One I do that's similar to #4 is I create a folder called Morning Bootup where I put everything I need in the morning in that folder- attendance, morning slides, background music, etc. - then in the morning, I right click the folder, click "Open All," and then everything boots up for me! That way, the same morning pages don't open up everytime I make a new window such as in the afternoon and I don't have to remember to open everything 😅

    Hey Michelle - Do you think you can do a video about synching your bookmarks bar. I want to do this -but I don't want to lose any bookmarks that I have. I need a streamlined way and NOT to lose any in the process! Thanks! Love your helpful videos! It has streamlined my work!

    • @PocketfulofPrimary
      @PocketfulofPrimary  Рік тому

      Hi Melissa! I don't currently have a video about syncing your Google account with Chrome only because it's a fairly simple process... once you enable syncing, Google will walk you through exactly what you need to do. If you're worried about losing any bookmarks, you can always copy the links to all the websites in a Google Doc and then cross reference it afterward!

    • @mishymish80
      @mishymish80 Рік тому

      I wanted to jump back on in response to your answer - the main question I still have is does it sync with the computer you are currently doing it from or your district account. For instance - which one dominates the syncing process? Also in your book mark bar - can you color your folders? Or will they always be gray? Thanks!

    Love these tips. What if when trying to tile the screen, the tile to left or right is not clickable on the drop down window? The options for Window do show tile left or right in a light gray so I am unable to use that function.

    Question: I did my customizing chrome on my school Macbook JUST like yours (my preference as well), but when I closed the tab then reopen it to see if it "took", it's back to what it was before, which is different Unsplash photos each time. I can't figure out how to make that fix and I've been at this for 20 minutes...ideas?

    • @PocketfulofPrimary
      @PocketfulofPrimary  Рік тому

      Hmm... it sounds like your district possibly has certain settings in place that you aren't able to change that could be causing that, but you can always check with someone from your tech department to be sure! Otherwise, when you change the background under "Customize Chrome", it should save even after you close the window.

    Michelle, I am always eager to see your videos. I always learn something new and useful, including a few new hacks in this one!
    I would love to suggest some end of the year content. School years end at all different times, and the wisest teachers plan that way ahead. Yes, there are things like ABC countdown, but what about tech topics? What are ways to “keep it moving” using tech in some interesting ways? What about properly ending the tech side of things for the year? I’m retiring this year after 34 years, so I will need to close down tech stuff for good.
    Lots of teachers are leaving education, but want to keep copies of what they created. Can you show how to do that? I need to buy ALL tech, and get that transfer process started. That’s something that cannot wait. I’m certain you have had to deal with that, including transferring ownership of a tech creating to someone in your team. These would be important “Spring Cleaning” items to start now. Can you help?

    • @PocketfulofPrimary
      @PocketfulofPrimary  Рік тому

      Hi Lorie! Thank you for watching and commenting! I've done some videos in the past about cleaning out your Google Drive at the end of the year, how to clean out Google Classroom at the end of the year, transferring your Google Drive if you're going to a new district, etc. so I do already have some technology related videos for the end of the year and I'm always making more! I'll definitely jot down some of the ideas you mentioned for videos as we move into the end of the year! Thanks for sharing your ideas!

    The reading list in hack 7 could be seen as similar to a shopping list. Each of the website is like an item on your shopping list. As you buy it you then cross it off which is like marking the tab as read

    • @benhunter4093
      @benhunter4093 Рік тому

      Yes this is correct. Windows only does it by the click and drag method. As a recently graduated IT student who uses windows this is very frustrating

    Hack 3 Disadvantage: If you intenionally or accidentally restart or shut down your computer, and then open it again, the group tabs that you previously made will not appear again.
    Hopefully, Google fixes this issue unless they wanted this to occur.

    • @PocketfulofPrimary
      @PocketfulofPrimary  Рік тому

      That's what I mentioned in the video... the groups aren't saved. It's just a way to organize the tabs you have open. But, also as I mentioned in the video, you can always access recently closed tabs by clicking the down arrow in the top right corner or under the history and reopen the group of tabs.

      Hmm... can he explain how it's taxing on the device? I don't quite see the connection for how pinning a browser tab affects the physical device... but I'm curious about the reasoning and evidence!
