@@gevanimation5324 holy git you’re doing exactly what @Ubnubmaster told us not to do in this video by making fun of other people. You reflect on the entire fandom, you know. I have an idea, what if you stop judging people by their abilities and start judging them by what’s in their hearts? I've never had such a deep respect for Vocaloid before, i tend to just listen to covers from like Rachie and Will Stetson (As i don't know Japanese lol). But they seemed just as regular songs even with dark tones, and they hit me and i love them. However, your channel actually gives me so much more insight into these themes, and I am upset I have never got this invested into Vocaloid before. Thank you so much for making these and I can't wait for more :)

Your idea of balancing out memes and analysis is something I've been trying to find the words for years now. You truly deserve all of your subscribers, really - I'm really happy me and a lot of others found this channel, if only recently. My journey into Vocaloid was mostly a solo experience as well, it was hard to find people who were enthused as I was about it even a decade ago, when it was at the height of its popularity. A lot of people have moved on from Vocaloid since then, but I continued to love the music that I grew up on, and I still follow the producers today. The music is so underrated, but it being a niche makes me feel an instant connection to this community too. Vocaloid wasn't a fad for us, we genuinely connected with it and saw the value behind the works these producers made. This is the channel people like us need, so thank you!

Not saying that memes are bad, but I've always been really interested in the deeper meaning of songs and the lives that amazing Vocaloid producers live. Thank you for bringing a bit more analysis to the Vocaloid Community.
If you take suggestions, I'd really love to hear an analysis of WONDERFUL★OPPORTUNITY. I think they make some of the best Kagamine Rin and Len songs out there. Unfortunately, I don't see very many people mention them, which is a shame cause they're music is low-key fire. Thanks! :)

Vocaloid also introduced me to different genres of music, and different themes as well, vocaloid was so different from anything i heard before, and to think i despised it even before taking it a shot, but suddenly i was getting addicted to world is mine from a youtube poop intro video, and them i gave up and looked up for songs, found the sapporo show from 2011 i think, and i got addicted to two breaths walking, albino and hoshi no kakera, after that my life wasn't the same anymore
vocaloid's songs themes, discussions made me grown and honestly, gave me inspiration, i always loved to write stories and each vocaloid song is a different story, in a different set, characters, feelings, emotions and a different end
EMOTIONS SPECIALLY, i really get to the mindset of the character or the story, and there's nothing more important than understand the psichology of one character
most stories i write today are somewhat heavely inspired in a vocaloid song, and now i tend to look to regular songs and give them a story too haha
and they made me learn a lot about myself, my feelings and how to surpass those sad moments we all have in life, just like perfeccionist complex, it's such a great song to understand sorrow and get back up
tbh it was frustrating when i showed other people (my friends/sometimes classmates when we talked about music in the lunch breaks) vocaloid songs and they would just say "it looks like something from a kids cartoon" and i wouldn't understand though i knew it doesn't mean it's necessarily bad.... most cartoons have good songs, but i still feel like they are.... diminishing it somehow, or when i showed anything japanese and my friends would just get "fuck, it's japanese..." and then suddenly change how they viewed the song and start to shame it, just because of the language
but i forgive them, maybe i'm the one who is getting it wrong, or they just need a bit more time
(and i always was scared to play vocaloid on the car, even though my family don't mind me not using an headset (specially because my sisters also like vocaloid, i showed it to them), i was always embarassed on how people on the street or nearby cars would think whenever we would be in a red light i would turn down the volume haha)

I've only recently discovered you channel but I love the history of stuff when it comes to Vocaloid. I don't see many people talk about just the songs or Producers and whatnot. When Super Eyepatch Wolf talked about Seraphim on the Ring (although briefly) in his Fall 2019 highlights I was like "I want more people to talk about these songs and their producers. I want to hear more people talk about this."
I also would also love to see you talk about the mangas, memes, MMD, and other media that came from this and how they affected the perceptions of certain Vocaloids and how it changed over the years.

Bit late to the party, but I really am grateful for this channel. I started listening to Vocaloid 4 years ago, but I only listened to the most popular ones. Some of my friends listened to Vocaloid back then, but not as much as me. I really started to listen and look for Vocaloid 2 years ago, when Miku's 10th anniversary (the medley video) came out. Then, I wanted to talk with others about the stories and songs I found, but none of my friends listened to Vocaloid anymore, and if they do, they just like it cause it's from Osu. So when I found your channel a few days ago, I was really happy. I could finally see someone talk deep into the Vocaloid community and its producers, and talk about their different songs. Thank you for everything you've done and I hope you do more.
P.S. May I give some suggestions? Can you possibly do Suzumu and the things he did with his songs? I'd also like to see Honeyworks and their Confession series, as well as Harumaki Gohan and how he basically did everything in his songs and videos.

I typically always put the name of the song I'm playing on screen when the music video for that song appears. It's typically the blue box that comes across the screen. Sorry if that wasn't clear, that's on me, if you have a suggest on how I can make it more obvious feel free to email me (I might not see a response back to this comment).
But I also started to put the songs I used in my sources as well (in order of appearance played in the video). And I also source the videos I used in order as well. I'm not really how can be more specific, I think that's several steps above most channels if I'm going to be honest

Hey. My native language is Russian, and I've been here, in the fan-base, for so many years, but I never even knew just how much I needed a place concentrated on serious side of the vocaloid music until I actually got it. All of the themes that you mentioned resurfaced here and there in the community, but never stayed long enough to make an impact. Both English and Russian communities (which is huge, mind you) lacked a place that was truly dedicated to the information that you gave. There was no sites, no blogs, no youtube channels, that could provide us with this part of the fandom. The part that requires you to dig even further then I thought you could go.
Yet finally, someone dares to fixate all of that in one area and talk about it loud and clear.
I'm-- my words are all over the place, but thank you so much for doing this.

I've never really been interested in vocaloid. I have heard of Hatsune Miku and have heard of some songs sung by vocaloid and I was not impressed. My friends have given me some song recommendations and I have watched them but it never really got me into vocaloid as I couldn't find anything that would compel me to dive in deeper and try to find what I liked in the vocaloid community. However, I was wrong to think that the little songs that I had heard was all to vocaloid as your channel helped broaden the horizon for me. I clicked on your video How Wowaka Changed Vocaloid Forever because I was bored and figured I had nothing to lose without even knowing who Wowaka even was. That video gave me new found respect for the history, producers, and community of Vocaloid. It also helped me want to search for even more vocaloid music and try to find some songs that I might like. It led me down a rabbit hole to watch all your videos and know more about Vocaloid. I'd say that this channel is the reason why I started to recently delve a bit deeper into Vocaloid and I truly appreciate the hard work you put out for your videos. I enjoy them greatly and sincerely thank you for helping me to become more invested in Vocaloid, even if it was just a little bit!

I'm not sure if I commented something like this before or not but if I didn't this is probably the best video to comment this on. So, thank you. I felt the same way about the vocaloid community not having enough people seriously talking about its great producers and songs, and I also thought there was no place you could really learn more about the producers and history of it except what you got from watching the songs, especially if you didn't know Japanese. So I really, really have to thank you for making these videos on so many topics and just teaching me so much more about vocaloid. And also like what you said, It's really fun to just see other people just talk about things I like, and makes me feel like alone in liking those things. So, your videos are perfect and exactly what I think the vocaloid community needs. Well, I think you're succeeding at your goal. Up until a week or two ago I only knew a few Vocaloid songs through Kenshi Yonezu, and I had never really bothered looking at the lyrics, other than the random phrases I understood with my limited knowledge of Japanese. I was such a big fan of Vocaloid, and then I just sort of forgot about it, forgot about it for a good couple of years. This channel, your channel, has brought me right back into this community and I love it even more because of you. You are doing a great service for those who love Vocaloid. You deserve so many more subscribers, and I'll be here seeing you grow :)

First of all, congrats for the 10k
About what you said about wowaka, I feel you, when I received all those comments for my tribute song, it really takes your heart with all the comments, when I did the song it, I stayed at my house becuase couldn't good to school having that news in my heart, my only way to look for a relief was to making a song(is my only way to do things...). But yeah, I really like your content, I have seen alot of informative vocaloid channels in spanish but didn't see english that much, so I'm happy to see you doing videos about vocaloid~ :D

Thank you for bringing these video essays into the vocaloid community. Especially how it's reviving my nostalgia for these older producers. I've long since stopped keeping track of my favourite producers since they moved into the professional music industry, and barely kept up with the new vocalo-Ps since the mid 2010s. You make me remember why I loved Kagerou Days and how the community would anxiously await every new MV wondering what would be added to the story; all those story series such as the Evillous chronicles that made vocaloid music so unique in that they told stories; and the intricate subjects written into the lyrics that a regular music industry would hesitate to publish in fear of a lack of audience for those who didn't have interest outside of popular love song lyrics.
It is because of vocaloid that led me into the utaite and NND world, and now I also cover songs online: vocaloid has definitely been central to my interests, hobbies, and growth as a person. I never would have improved so much in my knowledge of artwork, video making, and audio mixing if not for my involvement with vocaloid and then the UA-cam utaite community.

I first found Vocaloid two years ago from browsing through my recommended Aminos, I remember being interested as I had seen Miku around on the internet, the first song I listened to I wasn't sure but I thought it looked cool since it was an MMD, the next I started to appreciate the music, and by the third, I was all in. I hadn't enjoyed listening to any music before then but now even though I only listen to Vocaloid I can always find something to appreciate in other songs.
I recently went onto Nico Nico for the first time and the scrolling comments of everyone commenting "MIKU MIKU NI SHITE AGERU" brought me to tears, but it always makes me sad and honestly angry whenever people just brush off and ignore it, even when I get someone to listen to a song, they aren't listening. Almost my whole family makes fun of it and how it isn't real music and I have gotten in trouble for listening to Vocaloid in the same room as my younger sister, especially after she picked up part of Muteki pop from me singing it.
I found your videos last week and I enjoy them as I haven't been in the community for long and I'm not able to become a big part of it these videos have made me somehow love Vocaloid even more than before. I hope people start taking Vocaloid seriously and I think that your videos are going to be a big part of that happening. Thank you I hope you keep making these for a long time so that I and other newcomers to Vocaloid can learn and appreciate the things that brought Vocaloid to what it is today.

First of all, congratulations! I found your channel and I was very happy. The English community for vocaloid has been mostly those making covers. I stumbled across vocaloid and I can't sing but I still wanted to do something, so I did whatever I could at the time. I made my own music videos. I started learning Japanese so I could understand better. I still have a long way to go in that regard, but I can keep learning. I'm grateful for you, talking about the music I love. Thank you for building a community for us Vocaloid lovers!

Hey dude, I just wanted to let you know that this channel means a lot to me. I run a Vocaloid club at my school, and I talk about Vocaloid like this to my club members- I’ve been putting my heart into telling people how much I love Vocaloid, how much I love everything this fandom stands for. Clicking on one of your videos by chance and hearing almost the very same words I said to my club members when Wowaka passed away brought me to tears. I felt like I’d finally found someone who understood. Before, it felt like nobody ever took this music seriously. I felt like an idiot for finding so much meaning in Vocaloid songs. Thank you for reminding me that I’m not alone! Thank you for reminding us all that it’s okay to love what no one else seems to love. When I first found Vocaloid, I wished for a friend to guide me through the music and the history. 2 years later, and you are the answer to that wish. Thank you, I’ll continue to support you with all of my heart ❤️ love, ZORAKUN

Please don't feel forced to make videos though, just keep doing them in your own pace because you like it :)

Vocaloid has introduce me to loads of music such as underground music scenes and the touhou scene. I'm thinking about becoming a vocaloid producer and post vocaloid and non vocaloid songs just because I love music. Tho I don't know where to start its been on my mind for sometime now but I find a beginning to start at.

And this is unrelated is there any Australian vocaloid producers that you guys know of I just want to know as I'm interested.

I just finished watching all of your videos. I liked all of them, they are very interesting to watch. I'm looking forward to see who you will talk about in the future.
I noticed that you talked a lot about producers who started in Vocaloid, got success with it and left for other things. A producer that I think would make an interesting video is Utsu-P because he became popular with Vocaloid and started to do other things but he never left Vocaloid. Now he is popular in Vocaloid and has a very dedicated fanbase but he also works outside of it and makes concerts with his band. He had a big influence on the metal Vocaloid scene too so even if it wasn't for what I just explained it would still make an interesting video.
An other producer who is successful in Vocaloid and outside of it would be Camellia who just released a new Vocaloid song after what I think is 8 years.

DUDE IM CRYING AND SHOUTING THANK SO MUCH FOR DOING THIS! You basically said exactly what I thought, like why is such a vibrant music community that nurtured so many new Japanese artists somehow mocked or just not taken seriously by people. I just joined a music magazine of my college to start writing about Vocaloid as a cultural phenomenon and doing media analysis. And just at this moment, I saw your video, and also I'm a huge fan of wowaka and hitorie so I really really appreciate your analysis from my heart. I'm just so glad to see other people who want to think about Vocaloid in a serious way (as it deserves!) and I look forward to learning from your video! Keep up the good work man!

'If you have a producer you love, find a way to show that.' ...Ok. I Sub you. And I don't Sub to channels. EVER. Sit back, I'm gettin' wordy.
A friend introduced me to VOCALOID by singing Rolling Girl as I walked her home from school one day. I asked her what song it was and she said it was a Miku song, which ironically was part of why Wowaka quit the VOCALOID scene, he felt that his songs were seen as Miku songs and not Wowaka songs. Then, I was digging through the 3DS eShop for Demos to fill my time, found Project Mirai DX's Demo and recognized the name Miku. Add Senbonzakura and LOL(Lots of Laugh) to my experience, and Project Mirai DX to the list of 3DS games I owned because I loved the game. Luka quickly overtook Miku as my favorite, and Electric Angel jumped to my favorite song from the game the moment I finished it(it synced with me so well I perfected it the first try incidentally), currently the second most owned song on my iPod behind(of course) Rolling Girl(I have the original plus four different versions using Kanon, Aoki Lapis, V Flower and Luka as well as a wordless version). Looking around on UA-cam, I found a bunch of Luka covers for other songs, like Linkin Park's Numb, The Killers' Human, and Keane's Somewhere Only We Know, and VOCALOID was officially part of my life - I now have both Miku and Luka's Figmas, two Project Diva games(with a third coming as soon as I can get the money together for the Switch one), and I fully intend to write and publish a VOCALOID song before I die, with a current theme and module idea already established in my head but currently on the back burner while I try to earn enough money to actually afford the software.
However, this journey has not been without alienations, and like you I also found a surprising lack of people to turn to for thoughts regarding the loss of an important VOCALOID-related individual, though in my case it wasn't Wowaka, but an actual VOCALOID herself - Ring Suzune. I only found this channel today while pulling up Wowaka songs to show a friend who didn't know what VOCALOID was, but already I like what I see a great deal more than I expected. That said, as a rule I don't subscribe to channels. So why make the exception here? Because if I'm being honest I think there should be more guys like you out there, and I think you really should keep doing what you're doing, at least so long as you're the only one out here doing it for us all. Rock on dude.
