For me, this piece is about self worth. I made it at a time when I needed help processing the frustration that comes when someone fails to recognize your value time and again. In those moments, you don’t pity yourself, because there’s nothing to pity. You don’t put on a show to try and make them see, because all the proof they need is already right in front of them. You just keep doing what you do, and remember that you can always celebrate yourself. No validation necessary.
