Apparently "bangsang" (방상) which they translated here as "bang bang", is a buddhist term that indicates the act of surrounding yourself of a sort of natural protection (trees, rocks...) to protect your practice. If so, It would sure make a lot more sense than bang bang. Like saying "you can say whatever, if you bother me, I'll just raise that protection, what you do or say can't touch me. i'm a zen master."

I read from a korean army translator on twitter that "groin" in Korean culture can refer to the part of the body that is the centre for storing, processing and regulating emotions -- maybe the English expression "to vent your spleen" has a similar vibe. Also, hearing about that I now can't stop thinking about AMYGDALA, you know, our (brain's) centre for storing, processing and regulating emotions 😵💫
Heaven always makes me think of Uncomfortable Numb by Pink Floyd... I mean, the vibe.

Love, love, love Groin - yeah, Namjoon, don't hold back, tell us what you really feel, LOL! There are quite a few specific targets in this blow up. Straight talking to a foot-tapping beat and so special to me because, in a way, it assuages the feeling I had when I was watching his reaction to that pile-up on him during one of his lives (where he was accused of disrespecting Islam). I approved of the way he said he wasn't apologising but I was finding his reaction so mild, almost placating ("have a heart, guys") and I was muttering "come on, Namjoon, show a bit of mongrel. Tell them to go f*** themselves!" Of course, once I calmed down, I realised he was right because young ARMY was in the live and it would be a bad example for him to lose his rag with those idiots. So yeah, more than a bit of mongrel from Namjoon in this song and it's about effing time!
Why do I get the feeling from Heaven of coming to quiet waters after the storm? It's a song you can sway to, easy dancing beat. The words allude to refuge, strength in himself, not really happy but strong enough.

Heaven to me was more I am the holder of my true heaven or truth. So go ahead and take what you think is mine. I'm no lesser for it. Say, think, do as you please. I will be here and whole regardless what you do.

Tongue-in-cheek, yet wholly true to life. 'Groin' is a fun song, and Joon's prancing around feeling the beat of it in the MV. Expectations = entrapment, though, too. Making sense of non-sense - that's 'Groin' to me. 'Interlude' is whatever you/me/listeners want to imagine it to be in terms of the halfway point of the album. Hence, the question mark? You make what you want to make of it, he says to his fans - like an offering to us, and still smiling. 'Heaven' to me is like a respite, honestly. Then you read the lyrics, though. It's almost heaven, and (he is) getting there. He sounds calm singing it, and that calmess translates to the world out here. I am sure that's the initial response to this song, mostly. Lyric-wise, remember....? Making friends with your shadows? He is happy with the devils because they're always going to be there in one form or another. So....Joon's walking in the direction of a little bit of peace of mind now, I think. I hope so :) Haaa - I am writing my thoughts amidst your review. And there you go - peace struck both us, too. Good thing :)

I was listening live on Saturday for a few hours of a roadtrip to visit my aunt. I was literally yelling to you when you kept saying Groin was the first song on the album to have structure because, in fact, architecturally, that is exactly what a groin is:
