Thousands of hours watching wc videos tells me that Louise is probably the best teacher. Straightforward explanations with first rate camera work. Many thanks.
Yes and dedicated hours of editing the content to piece together all the visual information that enhances her explanations and makes it so easy for us to understand exactly what she's talking about! 😊
I think you’re the best watercolor channel on UA-cam. I think you explain the behaviors of the medium the best. You don’t just show how to do something. You explain the WHY too. And thoroughly show visuals that show each step of what you’re explaining.
I always thought making blooms was a bad thing....now I know different! Thank you so much for explaining this and the process for intentionally making blooms. Tremendously helpful! ❤
Oh my goodness, I don't know why I've not discovered you before - I think I've just watched 5 of your videos in a row and you explain things better than I've ever heard them explained before! And your examples are so helpful! Thank you for sharing your understanding and love of the beautiful art of watercolour ♡
I really love blooms, but most artists will tell you to avoid them, not show you how to make them! They really do add interest, texture, and even subtle shading. Personally, I think they're one of the most beautiful aspects of watercolors. If I wanted flat colors, I'd have chosen to learn oil or acrylics, after all. (:
Exactly Stephanie! I agree with you 100%. I couldn't have said that better myself. 💜
This is such a great lesson on blooms. The absolute best lesson I have seen put together, explained in perfect detail, I finally understand blooms!! Thank you so much for making this tutorial, this was awesome!! Thank you so much!
absolutely agree.
I love to hear you talk you have such a smooth calming voice your paintings are great I love to watch your videos
Oh I love watercolor blooms! The shifting and dispersion are actually why I am so fond of this medium!!
You create such high quality videos that I feel like a thief coming away with such value. You have the best channel on watercolor that I’ve seen, and I’ve watched dozens of them.
Thanks Louise for your video on blooms, how to create them. Now I know to wait for five minutes before dropping in water onto the paint that has lost its sheen. Very helpful video.
I am just getting interested in watercolor; watching videos and trying to learn. These watercolor blooms are magical; I especially like the look of them in the background. Thank you; enjoyed watching you.
Best tip and explanation of blooms ever!
Thanks very much Susan.
my gosh as a brand new painter, I just wish I could sit with you and learn. A bit difficult since I'm half a world away, LOL.
This was packed with all the info I was looking for! Finally 👍🏾 thank you. As a beginner explorer of watercolor, I have no idea what I’m doing and this just solved one major question I was struggling with 😊✨
I always thought that I ruined my painting when I got blooms, thanks for showing me how beautiful they can be
Absolutely love blooms. They add such an interesting layer of dimension to my pieces.
It's so lovely to listen to you, you have such a pleasant voice.
I love this tutorial Louise.. and I love watercolour blooms too! Really nice to see how you’ve used them in your paintings 😍
As a young school art class student I failed terribly wc with holes in my paper. I had no direction, disappointment, I stuck to acrylic which I love. I am determined to give it a new start, 35 years later, I’ve learned so much in just a few if your videos. You are amazing. I’m painting a simple Koi, I am actually doing okay. Glad I found you!
I wholeheartedly agree with the people here…thank you for getting me on the way with blooms…you ar a great teacher!
I finally started my watercolour practice today and ended up with blooms. You have come to the rescue !!!
One of the best explanation. I love that you use blooms in your artwork.
Blooms add unique textures, love the spontaneous effects you get, with them.😀
Wonderful lesson. Finally I know how to control and utilize them. I agree with you - they are lovely and add so much interest when the painter knows what he/she is doing. Thanks!
This is the best explanation of blooms that I've heard/seen. Thanks!
I'm still not a fan of blooms in figurative paintings, but I also still am a big fan of yours. Especially, those roses you showed were exquisitely portrayed oh my!! Absolutely delightful!
Thank you so much! This was the best explanation ever on this! I am relatively new to water coloured and was struggling with the frustration of the blooms... now I know better!
Thank you for this lesson, I too think blooms are a quality of watercolour showing the delicacy of touch, and you certainly have it 🤩
You are such a great inspiration. I keep watching the same over and over when I paint whenever I get stuck if there is some more which i could do. Thank you for these learnings!!
Thank you so much for this, I was a bit intimidated by creating blooms because I thought it might ruin my painting but I never knew you can make beautiful effects from it! Thank you for this!
Thank you so much! This was REEEALLY helpful. I love blooms in watercolor, but it is nice to know how to avoid them and use them where I want. 🙂
My pleasure Krystal! Thank you.
Excellent video. Clear and concise. Just what I was looking for. Thank you.
I love blooms but now I understand how to control them. Asa a patreon member your teachers are more in depth so thank you for that, I appreciate you Louise 🙏🏽🙋🏻♀️👍🏽Mia
Blown away by the quality of these videos. Including time lapses is so helpful and thoughtful, and you explain concepts very clearly. Thank you!
I LOVE your work and tutorials. I'm a beginner and you inspire me to go on. even when it's not working as I had imagined.
And a compliment to your voice. Calm and relaxing. It helps to focus. Thanks
That's very kind of you to say. Thank you Coriene. Good luck with it. 💜
I think we all agree: you are the "bestest" teacher! (My grandies say that there is no such word, but what do they know?)
This is the best lesson I've seen on watercolour blooms, thanks!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you Doris.
I have never used blooms purposely but I will use them now. I paint very differently but I have learned so much from your videos. Thank you.
Hi, I’m new to UA-cam channel and the tutorials I have watched so far have been very informative enhanced by your gentle delivery of information. I love to create blooms and very often use a negative painting approach as well. Al that being said I’m still a novice ! Many thanks
An intentional watercolour bloom is such a thrill to make, I just need to learn how to control them.
I really appreciate your detail and good easy to understand tutorials.
Thank you again Louise for another stellar video:) I think blooms are beautiful when used correctly in a painting. Your gorgeous paintings have inspired me to use them more often. I agree that it is what makes watercolour so unique and special to use. This is the best explanation on blooms I have ever heard:)
Thank you! Problem solved! You explained this so well and what to do.
Dear Louise, I have started painting with watercolors again and discovering your tutorials was really really great. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and works with us :)
I love seeing examples of your existing work in your tutorials, it's very helpful to see a link between cause and effect. Your explanation of how these are caused is perfect. I now know what I was doing wrong. Thank you.
Hello Louise. Just noticed that this video is two years old. It wouldn't matter to me as your info will still be relevant no matter how old they are. Love your instructions. I'll keep your videos long term.
Again I'm amazed by your precise and patient way of explaining techniques. Thank you for this very interesting view on blooming watercolor
Well you change my mind , I know now that blooms could be beautiful

Very helpful video. You are so cute! Those rose paintings are stunning! Could you do a tutorial on one of them some day?
I'm loving the timelaps shoots. And I learned a lot today, as always thank you.
Thank you Meilssa. 🧡
great tutorial about blooms and how and why they form..............they used to frustrate me so much, as I didn't understand what was happening..........now I have a much better understanding of blooms, and how they can even be deliberately created for certain kinds of textures and interest........thanks
Thanks so much for this info.. I love blooms and am new to watercolour and loving it!
Explicit and enormously helpful. Thank you, Louise 😘
My pleasure Diane. Thank you!
I found you! Oh my goodness you are like a magician. I so enjoy your videos and you do such a great job of explaining. I can see the teacher in you, in every video!!! Thank you for what you do in these videos. Your work is amazing.
Such an interesting effect. It really does add interest but doesn’t distract from the focal image. The sea turtle is a really fine piece! The shell is wonderfully realistic. The blooms in the watery background seem to add motion. Can’t wait to experiment a bit!
I am so joyed that I found this channel. You are a great teacher. Your explanation of blooms finally make sense. I want to explore the deliberate use of blooms in my next test piece.
Thank you for explaining this! I've seen other videos that mention them and show them, but none have really explained them.
Louise, Thank you for this wonderful process video! I love the abstraction and freedom of intentional blooms.
As a bloom-lover, I especially appreciated your detailed explanations and examples! You are FANTASTIC! Some of the best instructions I've seen! THANKS!
Thank you very much Laurie. 💕
I've watched several of your videos, and you are such a good teacher! Thank you!
You are so welcome! Thank you.
Thank you, that was awesome.
I was always told that blooms are bad & I used to chuck my paintings which had too many blooms. Now, you have given us good tips to embrace blooms. You’re a lovely clear concise teacher.
Wow!!! This is amazing!!! No, you are amazing, truly! I feel so inspirated. WOW!
You're a life saver! Thank you for your precious lessons!
Thanks Louise, this was so helpful. I usually always make blooms accidentally, but now I can finally know why. thanks 🙂
Another great informative video. I am learning SO much from you. Thank you!
This is a very good explanation of how to avoid and how to create blooms. Thank you for you clear explanation and demonstration. When I first started playing around with watercolors, it was the blooms that excited me most. I hope I can now bring them into my paintings in a more controlled way.
love all the info
Your explanations are so clear and logical! I really got a lot out of this. Thank you!
That was so very helpful!!! Thank you so very much!!!
Thank you. So helpful.
Okay I have made watercolor blooms for textures on a few of my paintings, but at the time it was not on purpose. I just lucked up with it working successfully. After watching this very informative video of how to create or stop blooms & how they are made I can use this as a technique for my paintings. You are an amazing painter and an amazing teacher
Your lovely ! And i love you blooms ! Learned a lot in this video. Thank you x
Again Ive never noticed the blooms as such Louise. I mightbhave seen them in a painting and thought "how the heck did the artist do that"🤭🤭...one thing I am learning from watching your videos Louise is that 'acrylics are much more forgiving and dare I say easier!!' Thanks for taking the time to explain its much appreciated. 🤗🥰
Thank you, Louise - just what I needed!
Thank you so much for sharing ❤
