The culprit for unit crashing is either low ram or overheating. Since you don't use your AC on hot sunny days, the high heat is probably trapped, goes into overheat mode and shuts down. Some units now come with a fan to help lower the temperature.
I have the same model and 3 takeaways for your 3 cons. 1: the glitches. Most of these will have some bugs and unfortunately it’s part of it. Some people have done firmware and CANBUS updates with success. 2; the AC is supposed to pop up when you touch your physical buttons. It’s a pop up menu from the bottom. Go into settings and Factory my pin is 3368. Or respond to this and I’ll find the exact steps. It works. 3: fitment. Unfortunately you have to be very careful when you are installing. The plates that connect the screen to the harness need to be placed specifically. THEN you need to add bolts for extra space to create better fitment. Took forever and was annoying but my fitment is almost perfect.
@@tonykingkeo5816 I’ve tried two things. The reset buttton Swipe down from the top of the Home Screen. On the far right you’ll see a reset button. That one works best. Last is a a complete system restore and reset.
I think it shuts down when it overheats, so adding the cooler should solve the problem. I don't have that problem but like sometimes when I turn on the car music sound doesn't come up (once a month), if I tweak it sometimes it helps, other than that it is really worth it.
I have a 2012 and I have the DVD player with the screen which I’m super happy with. The Bluetooth connects automatically with my phone and all that but the one feature which I wish it could do is be able to play UA-cam while driving. I listen to a lot of music there but the screen goes blank once you put it in drive. Otherwise would definitely keep the stock screen and controls.
I just mainly use my head unit for mostly music and spotify (from my phone) and if I needed gps, waze, google maps or something then I'd just use my smartphone. I am a music nut so I will not give up my car audio for this.
how about the audio? like i mentioned earlier i do have the Mark Levinson audio. I really don't wanna lose this by installing this headunit. Is it still possible to keep the original amplifier and CD?
If you have a stock screen navigation you should you grom vline for apple carplay and android auto, if you are like mine 2009 with no navigation this screen is good.
settings -- Car infotainment -- about device -- click the setting icon at the right corner, input PIN: 8888 or 8878, click "OK" -- CAN type-- Select No.204 option -- save Try that for your AC bro, same thing happened with me but after I did this the air conditioning app came up and now works fine

I have an autosonic android head unit for my Lexus is250 but it doesn’t work quite right for my car. It goes off and on whenever I’m driving off hills or going through curves. It’s really annoying. Any idea about what might be wrong?
Ive just installed one of these and the AC controls don’t work and steering wheel controls don’t work either. Only the hazard works. No lights on theses controls like the video either. Can’t see any ac control function thru the apps on the stereo either. I also have three plugs deft over that seem to have no use
@@Babyjay0901 my biggest issue was the rca leads were shorting out so had to tape them up. Stereo works same as ac control. Unsure if the lights work but some of the side controls don’t work
