Do NOT get discouraged if you think recovery is taking a long time. I had this surgery in 2009 and was not prepared for the initial and long term recovery. You will be absolutely EXHAUSTED for several months. Be patient. Listen to your body. Take the time to recover. And the weird thing is: don't feel ashamed to cry! It is overwhelming and emotional. Praying for you ❤

I have Arnold Chiari Malformation. I had to have decompression surgery in Sept 2013. It showed up after a car accident. Mine was pretty rough, by the the time i has surgery, I couldn't walk, yall, take care of my children or myself. I didn't think i could hurt worse, but when i woke up from surgery i found out i could. But after about 2 weeks they got my meds under control and i was sent home. It's been all up from here. I do still have a pressure head ache maybe 2 times a year. But i know why and correct it. But God was so good, to give me a great surgeon. I pray if you read this you are on the up road to recovery, since it's been 7 days since you posted this. And if you're not, from one zipperhead to another, just know it will get better and better and better.

I had my first surgery in Feb 2014, 2 in Jan 2016, my 3 Aug 2023, and they had to remove a plate it rusted. Now I have a leak and will need a 4 surgery. I run . group chiari & hydro ink trying it Gods was. Small group, private. It's not an easy surgery or recovery.

Prayers for you all. Im 67 had my first brain surgery at 33 I had 4 Brain surgeries.
I will say please take care of yourself don't push it give your body the time it ņeeds to heal remember your brain and body heal better when you are asleep. The first weeks out of surgery sleep as much as possible.

I hope youre healing! Saw you on your live last night. I had my c1 arch removed, a dura patch, etc. Im hoping it resolved my spinal cyst. I had an 18mm herniation. I definitely understand wanting the relief. Its hard to struggle for years! Its been night and day for me! Every time i have a headache i get paranoid maybe the surgery is reversing so I have to just remind myself of my latest MRIs. Lol Small world. I dont know many who evern know what Chiari is!
Very true. Since having this surgery I’ve found that there are more out there than I realized, but know that’s it’s still uncommon.

I had a friend with peacocks and he said the like to roost off the ground. Maybe put something up to roost on.
We were finally able to build a roost and put it in their pen. They love it! We posted a video about it as well. 😊

We have had a similar surgery recently. Make sure to take time to heal! The meds can make you feel crazy and sometimes need to be adjusted. There is a neuro fatigue most people have and it can be very hard to sleep due to the meds until some are weaned off. Thankfully, you sound like you have a wonderful family support system, and prayers for you and the whole family!!

You might want to consider getting or making a rectangular feed trough. That way there shouldn't be so much fighting at feeding time.
I have Chiari and EDS (Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome) but opted to decline the decompression surgery. My bff had the surgery and it was a failure and ended up worse off than before. I hope that your surgery was successful and that you get some relief from this horrible disorder. ❤❤❤

Hello Kimberly, I was on your live last night getting to know you both. I first saw you when Jack Dyer Family Farm introduced you at the meet up live he was doing a weeks or so ago. Do you follow Outdoors with the Morgan? Both their daughter had this surgery. And both surgeries went very well. You may want to check that video out. I personally have had headaches all my life and maybe I should have gotten tested for this who knows this might be why. But living with headaches are ridiculous and a constant pain that is always there. It’s crazy when I’ve talked to some and they say they never get headaches..I couldn’t imagine. Id recommended more feeding spots for your goats they seem to all be on 1 bowl and bring aggressive with each other
Thanks for watching! We have several feed pans in that area with them. They just all run between them. Sometimes they spread out evenly among them and others they all gang up together at just a few of them and rotate to the other pans. We are working an a longer trough system so they won’t be in a full circle on the pans when eating.

Good luck with your posterior fossa decompression surgery. I have Chiari Malformation as well as 1 of my daughters. My surgery was almost 11 years ago. As you recover, remember ice packs on the back of your head and neck will be your best friend. Praying for you and your family. Hugs from Wisconsin
