Just added retrograde bass to the collection & cancelling all appointments this afternoon! Legit though every time you release something new it almost instantly becomes our new favorite virtual instrument!!
You guys did it again! There's no ugly sound in this library. For a long time I been looking for bass sounds that approach that seventies italian crime jazz cop thiller funk palm muted sound and there it is!
This is enchantingly beautiful as always! One suggestion: As they comprise the classic trilogy of drums, bass, and keys in many modern genres of music, I think you should make Tympo, Retrograde Bass, and Vespertone a bundle/combo and introduce it with a special discount as well!
Man this exactly what I need! Whenever I try to write, as a drummer, the thing I’m missing is a good bass line with something that actually sounds like a bass. I even bought a bass guitar, and good lord am I terrible at that. This’ll be so much better!
this library sounds amazing - if you haven't already you guys should make a "Moon Safari" preset. Air had that nice flat-wound gibson bass throughout that album, and the previous EP (Premieres Symptomes)
Fantastic! I'm often looking for a good 60's sounding sampled bass : ) My 5th Teletone library & every one's a winner (baby!). Many thanks for the great sounds & good luck with the move!
Even hearing the Tube mic signal just on its own, it's immediately clear why tube saturation on bass is so damn good. The harmonics in that tone are going to make that bass translate across any mix, on any listening medium. Delicious.
was on the fence because i've been buying a lot of plugins lately but the quality you put into this is undeniable and a must have honestly. love your work and thank you for providing gems for very fair pricing
BRO as soon as i saw the email titled "Introducing Retrogade Bass" i INSTANTLY KNEW it was gonna be that palm mute sound, you brilliant son of a bitch. Our tastes are aligned completely. So grateful for you work.
Welp there goes my money, Teletone has become my fav plugin dudes in conjunction with soundtoys/omnisphere/samples/arturia synth collection your plugins are the bit of magic missing, feel like next gen plug ins.
👏 Amazing instrument! Your best yet in my opinion. Any chance of a track walkthrough of the RB trailer music?? I can hear tympo and golden age piano in there, would love to see a full production breakdown of this.
This is not my year, Somehow I first missed the loyalty discount time frame, and then I don't know what I did during BF, but I didn't get Retrograde Bass… Anyhow: It's so sweet sounding. And I'm astonished over how many things you've thought of, and got right. Teletone just keeps being awesome. I will have to catch RB sometime when I've got some extra money. Bravo, Teletone! Hope the move to another city worked fine, happy holidays!
You don’t know how long I’ve been wanting VSTs with instruments that have an actual vintage sound and feel to them. Yeah there are lofi effects that can be applied but they aren’t always able to achieve what I had desired. Between this, Tympo, Vespertone, and both the Golden Age and Postcard pianos, I’m gonna be making some great purchases. Those VSTs would be dope for Hip Hop, especially for those of us who want the sampled sound but would rather compose from scratch. Of course I would use them for more than just Hip Hop. Keep up the good work. I plan on being a supporter for sure. P.S. Are you going to come up with any brass VSTs with a mix of saxophones, trumpets (including muted), trombone, French/English horns, etc? It would be dope if you were to make that and allow whatever configurations that can capture the sounds of the eras of the ‘40s all the way to the ‘70s or ‘80s. I’d be willing to scoop that up easily as long as they sound realistic.
Really appreciate you taking the time to let us know! It really means a lot. We love not only creating each and every instrument, but continuing to grow the sonic world of sounds that you can create with all of them combined. That being said it would be really cool to add to the palette of sounds a brass library! Thank you again.
You guys are amazing! This is going to make me ditch the Scarbee Rickenbaker Bass by Konkat! I’m going to be adding this to my collection real soon! Also, have you thought of doing an acoustic / electric guitar vst? I currently use elementary sounds Wremena one but it would be awesome if you guys did your own thing too. Wremena One is great, but i need something more for every genre. I feel like Wremena one is very heavy made for lofi music
Love your plugins, I have everything but this one, which I'll be buying! Just one thing, the videos of you talking seem super low quality, even when at 1440p. The vintage look works great on your trailers etc, but the interviews maybe you're still using a lot of grain and pushing the blacks up, and UA-cam then compresses it and it looks very low quality. This is coming from a videographer who is endlessly struggling with UA-cam hideous compression! In my experience it's the grain that causes UA-cam to make things look really bad, which is a shame. Anyway, just thought I'd share that for the future, as its a little distracting when watching these longer videos :)
Thanks! We are not using grain on these videos. Most likely what you are seeing is just because we are using just an older Canon 5d. Appreciate the feedback though. Maybe one of these days we will get a new set up!
I bought this and absolutely love it. You mention string sounds but are there any slide samples or any way to slide across notes? Thanks for the great instrument!
There are sliding string sounds on the lower octave that you can engage that has fret sliding sounds, but no tonal slides. There the hammer ons though that can be turned on and off.
I’ll be getting this for sure! I like the drums too, very groovy. Can someone tell me where the drums sounds are from? Are those from Tympo, or something else, Cheers!
hello sir , i just have one question, what instrument did you use in the track "Domino" in your album "Siren sound" the sort if synth pad in stereo when the first drop comes in ? i just wanna know if i cand find it in ondine. have a nice day and thanks for the Amazing work 😉
Unfortunately I am unable to find that song's project file! All the Siren Sound demos were made with Ondine so that sound almost certainly was made with Ondine, which particular sound I don't know! Sorry about that.
I just bought and installed this great sounding bass instrument. Running the latest version of Studio One Pro 6. Every time I try to load a sound, I get spinning beach ball and have to force quit as Studio One stops responding. What am I doing wrong?
While we do have a fret slide sound effect on the lowest octave keys you can trigger, as well as hammer ons for every third and fifth I believe, we do not have portamento or big long slides between notes. At 11:12 we talk a little on this.
Thanks for your reply.@@teletoneaudio That's a shame, a brilliant product, is there scope for this to be added in future updates please? Other plugins use glide, pitch and transpose modulators to replicate the effect. Thanks in advance.
Cool, maybe we will experiment down the road but currently no plans for this. As mentioned around the 11:12 bit we just have never really found those functions to be very useful, at least for the specific vibe Retrograde Bass is aiming for. But we will never say never!
We have a key that you can press that simulates a fret slide sound effect. But in terms of a glissando or slur no it does not do that. There are hammer ons though.
@@teletoneaudio yes i saw the key for the slide noise effect. Good idea! It’s pity for the glissando, it’s the only thing that miss to make me buying it ! Even if I can consider that was not obvious to add it as the topic is more the muted bass play style that is it the most related to the slide technique, could be a really nice add. Anyway, good job !
We have a slide fx sound that can be triggered with an octave below the playable range but no slide legato articulation. We do have hammer on articulations though.
This is why we have chapter markers if you do not care to know the why and what behind the instrument's interface. Start at the 20:00 marker to hear at least 15 minutes of playing.
Great to see someone who is SO clearly invested in, and loves what they’re making. It’s almost shocking in 2023.
He’s so good I get bummed when he releases something bc I know I’ll wrestle with myself over weather to spend the money lol
We love what we get to make and it's folks like you that make it worth it!!
its not shocking

I'd love a really good Indie Guitar Instrument from Teletone to go with this! Would go so well with TA's family of instruments.

just when I struggled to find a good retro bass sound. ❤❤❤❤

It's a discontinued Yamaha KX8 👍
