There are so many things that are great about this plugin. The drum sounds are really good and the ability to make complex sounding beats has been made easy. I can't drum like Kevin Parker, but I think Tympo is the best plugin I've found that can help get me half way there. I just started using it, but I'm having lots of fun using it, and it's intuitive and easy to use. It's true there are plenty of beat making plugins but I think you've created something original and high quality right here. I'm looking forward to using it more.
Tympo is friggin beautiful, and the functionality and level of controls, not to mention the quality of the sounds, is blowing my mind. Thank you for this; I am right now contemplating the potential this tool brings to my arsenal, in terms of speed and productivity as well as quality. Thank you for these tutorial too, I want to max this out, and right now I can't imagine needing anything else beyond this for my percussion.
Amazing work guys. Just one thing as an Ableton user, Im pressing space but the beatmaker doesn't seem to be working like a normal sequencer. The only time I can hear the demo beats is when I drag the midi out. Have a missed a mapping step?
Hi Jacob, as discussed via direct messaging you will need to input MIDI notes from middle C and up an octave to trigger the beats. Glad you got it working! 🙌
i really love the sounds, it's so tasteful!! but I do have a questions: how do you work with them in the daw? do you send the sounds on different channels? or do you just use a midiclip and use the drums as they come out of the Tympo Plugin (Saw that on your Song breakdown)? how do you address the sidechain compression of the kick if it's only inside the plugin?
You can route a single stereo bus out of Tympo, or individual audio channels for each drum (kick/snare/hihat etc). Just select a channel from the OUTPUT drop down in the Drum Detail section. Make sure you have properly set up your multi-output routings in Kontakt. A simple UA-cam search for how to set that up will get you started for your specific DAW. Once you have the multi output set up in Kontakt you can side chain any of the drums you want. We did build the DUCK feature that sidechains the KICK to the NOISE dial just for ease.
just bought it but it seems like the sound design knobs only effect the noise but not the drums. plus when i turn the compress or fatten or room knob etc nothing changes. tighten, volume and tune works just fine. reinstalled the plugin but still the same issue..
Hmmm that should not be the case. We recommend reaching out to our technical support. Just click on Contact on our website and fill out the form. Terry will be in touch with you!
@@teletoneaudio Thsnks. So do you mean I’d need to have Electro as well as Tympo to edit the midi further, or can I drag the midi straight from Tympo into my DAW?
Hey! You just hold down the middle C key on your keyboard and the subsequent notes after it to match with the corresponding numbered measures. That said a play button ▶️ will be added to Tympo in a future update 👍
Question: Would you then play this performance into a DAW recording the key presses of the sequence or just drag the midi files into the DAW and select Tympo?
@@teletoneaudiowill you guys be making new kits as updates or sound kits. Would be dope as well to possibly add an analog emulation effect... MPC, SP 12, reel to reel, vcr, etc.
Hey! Loving learning how to use this sweet new library - It's been fun messing around with the pre-made beats. Thanks! However, I'm now trying to make my own and it's not syncing to the tempo of my DAW (Cakewalk) and I can't figure out how to change it from 4/4 to other tempo's like 6/8? Help!
Glad you are digging it! In manual mode you can play in on any time signature. With the beatmaker, however, it’s not really possible for odd time signatures. There are a couple of workarounds but it’s not very intuitive. We’d be happy to connect in this if you want to reach out to customer service. Thank you!
OK to put it in its simplest terms, you can do a 6/8 beat if you keep your DAW at 4/4, but then put your hi hats to 6 steps. If you need further explanation we can help you specifically through customer service. Thanks!
Is there a way to make the crash hit every other measure instead of every measure on the one? I tried messing with it the other day and couldn't figure it out.
Sure. Just take measure 1 (that has the crash) and copy and paste measure 1 to measure 2. You can copy and paste measures from the utility menu ⚙️. Then on measure 2 just remove the step of the crash. So now measure 2 is the same beat without the crash. Then when you are playing your track keyswitch between the two measures (or notes middle C to the D).
Right now that is not possible within the beatmaker. We are exploring the option to be able to change the time signature in the beatmaker. Technically you can still make a 3/4 beat in the sequencer, but you would just need to keep your DAW in 4/4. But that’s confusing and not ideal.
We would recommend you watch the walkthrough, or towards the end of this video. The Tympo beatmaker allows you to have MIDI automation of the Sound Design parameters that lets you perform back in real-time our time-stretching algorithm, velocity manipulation that leverages the multiple velocity layers, chaos additive that creates duplets, triplets and sixteenths in different directions from the pitchwheel, all while being able to sequence-jump between different patterns with keyswitching.
That too! :) We curated the drum samples into 30 kits from 50 vintage drums all derived from our personal collection as well as some pretty cool studios in Nashville. And then on top of the instrument and the samples you also get a ton of pre-made beats all the at least 7 variations of the beats. So yeah there’s a lot of answers to “why” we created this library.
The samples alone are worth it from my experience so far. Just my two cents! Love the processing options as well. Just a really tastefully done release!
Wake me up whenever Teletone misses 🥱
Sweet dreams!

just: wow! the drum kits i've been dreaming of!!!
Awesome! So glad :)
i wanna see what Dorian Concept would do with this
I will buy it just for the awesome presentation.

Is it possible to export the midi of the beat into the DAW after its been made?
Sure is! Check out the 1.1 update walkthrough video 👍👍
This looks incredible. Can you copy the sequences from Tympo into a DAW as midi?
Yes you can :) Just drag the MIDI from Tympo into Electro.
@@teletoneaudio Thsnks. So do you mean I’d need to have Electro as well as Tympo to edit the midi further, or can I drag the midi straight from Tympo into my DAW?
Either way works. Drag Tympo into Electro, Electro into Tympo or both of them in to your DAW.
When in beatmaker, how do you get the sequencer to play? I get sound when I click each square but I don’t see a play button/ space bar does nothing 😅
Hey! You just hold down the middle C key on your keyboard and the subsequent notes after it to match with the corresponding numbered measures.

This is insane... I must be dreaming
Thank you :)
Just bought it.
🙌
My tempo seems to be off and I have the exact settings. Is there something I'm missing?
Check your DAW/host tempo settings. Tympo automatically constrains to your DAW's tempo 👍
Question: Would you then play this performance into a DAW recording the key presses of the sequence or just drag the midi files into the DAW and select Tympo?
Yeah just record the MIDI performance of the key switching. 👍
@@teletoneaudio nice thanks

No that is not something Tympo does.

Question! How do I get the chaos function on red keys?
Hey! Chaos only works when you are using a beat with the Beatmaker, the blue keys.

As far as a syncing issue. Please make sure you quantize your very first MIDI note that you are using with the beatmaker.

How can I put it into 3/4 time or other time signatures for that matter?
Right now that is not possible within the beatmaker. We are exploring the option to be able to change the time signature in the beatmaker. Technically you can still make a 3/4 beat in the sequencer, but you would just need to keep your DAW in 4/4. But that’s confusing and not ideal.

This is covered in the walkthrough but snare is on D and ghost notes are on D# 👍

Hey guys is there a way to make beats in different time signatures e.g. 3/4? Tryna figure this out with STEPS but can't seem to. Thanks x
Technically 3/4 won’t work, but 6/8 will if it’s “felt” in “2”. Just change the subdivisions to 6, and keep your DAW in 4/4. Hope that helps!
@@teletoneaudio Oo ok. Great work btw guys. Must have been painstaking. You're low key revolutionizing beat-making.
