I walked the Portugues the first 10 days of June last year. It was comfortable, not crowded. However, I volunteered in the pilgrim’s office the two weeks before which were REALLY busy. It seemed that May was busier than June. Maybe I just lucked out.
Thank you for doing what you do, last year you held my luggage until I finished the Portugues Camino, a service that you've provided that I am very grateful for. See you later this year or early next year.
It was great meeting you on the 19th! Hard to believe that time flew by so fast. Your office was very nice and I posted about on my other channel: "Camino for Everyone".
I made great friends and had fabulous laughs, tears, as well as solitude along the Portugues last year. I’ve done the Frances twice and chose to avoid it last year. I didn’t regret it. I chose the interior walk except for a piece along the spiritual variant. Lovely. By the way- the map I got was a folded one. Not in a tube. Is that because it came to the states?
It’s very popular for the French people doing it in small groups we did it ,but book well ahead of time it is not busy like the Camino France but fewer place to stay and longer distance between be prepared and way you go .
Thanks Ivar, the new office is exciting, the shell above the door and the tourist “tours” are something unexpected. Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺
Best of luck in your new location and thank you for all you do!
Thank you!

It may very well be, Ivar ... I just finished it from Lisbon to Santiago in 31 days, arrived yesterday.

Ivar, you caught me walking into the Pilgrims Office (olive green rain jacket, Tilley hat and bright red backpack cover) 👏👏👏

I walked the Camino Portuguese in September of 2023 and it was VERY BUSY!
I walked the Frances in 22, Portuguese in 23. I plan on the Le Puy route in 25. Is the Le Puy also experiencing large numbers I wonder.
