God bless You from Dominican Republic i'm learning English with your videos , i love it
"Plant in the mud, your crop will be crud...
Plant in the dust, your bins will bust!"
Now that's the fun stuff I come to this channel for. Thanks guys!!
So I have been on this earth for over 50 years now. In my time here I have had the opportunity not only to work on many types of equipment, but also work with many people over the years. It has been my experience that the most kind, hard working genuine people come from farming and working the land. I don't mean to take away from the non farmers, but if I could pick someone to have my back it would be good people like this. I have said this before but thank you for all your hard work! 🤟🥰
seeing that mud packed in like that reminds me of the mud we would get packed into the road wheels on our M106 mortar carriers at FT Riley, trust me you never get all of it out and will almost need a jackhammer to get it out once it dries out
Laura, where are your safety glasses? Please protect those lovely eyes. Farming is very difficult without them. I love watching you and Grant and wish you all the best!
Still amazing she does all this work and never seems to break a finger nail - now that's a professional! Love these videos
Thanks for noticing !
Met Laura and Grant at a cafe they are the real deal nicest couple you would ever meet me and my 15 year old daughter love watching you guys she has taken an interest in are farming operation and it's great to show her that a responsible daughter can have a chance to farm I just wish she would have been there to meet you guys once again it was an honor to meet you good luck to both of you keep the videos coming
I don't understand how she can do that type of work and still have perfect nails.
nails that come out of a box are always perfect
Only dose for the camera lol just teasing
Its called a Thoroughbred mate...
She Perfect in every way 💘
Lol
Or dirty hands. Bunch of youtube sycophants here.
Grant, you was asking about removing the lift assist and moving the tanks forward on the planter. Does your tractor has the lift capacity to lift the planter with the tanks fully full if you take the assist off? Maybe that is why the planter has lift assist.
Lady I have the hat of for you. We needs more lady like you. I hope you are growing things with out any chemicals.
Farmer girl with long nails! #YouGoGirl 👌🏻 Love the tractor!
When she was pointing out the faults and waving that wrench about, I swear you walked back a few steps and looked for an escape route...
Thanks for sharing
I'm not really into farming, I come from a family of deep ocean fishermen and women, oyster beds and lobster traps, and longline fishers, but something about the way you and Grant go at it just pulls me in, and the next thing I know, the video is over and I want more. Thanks for making farming interesting.
A Geo is like a puppy, they are always piddling on the floor. You know you are out of oil when they don't leak.
winner coment
Hey Laura! Nice tractor, but what about that green truck in the background!!?? Give us an in-depth description & educational video of that beauty!! Now I'm an Old Hot Rod fan from wayyy back...80's!
The more I watch, the more y'all impress me of your education and knowledge of all these equipments, thingy-meh-jigs & stuff! ✌😂💞
Always brings a smile to my face and joy in my heart watching this channel. May God bless both of your farms.
WOW, OK I Gotta Say That Her Bending The Handle On That Wrench Says A Lot About The Quality Of The Wrench, She’s Like What 120 Pounds Soaking Wet.
I always hoped to have a daughter one day but it never happened. After watching your videos I would have been so incredibly proud to have a daughter like you. Watching you two makes me feel that the younger generation is going to do just fine. It gives me a good feeling. Thank you, Laura.
The two of you just have way too much fun. Laura was really focused on her job when I believe you were taking the scrapers off. I always look forward to your videos, you get a thumbs up before I start watching, just know I am going to like it.
"So during the winter we have nothing to do." But also, "We have 4 planters we are completely pulling apart and updating." 😀 Love the constant projects that need to be done on a farm.
A lot of solid engineering went into designing and building the tank and lift wheel configuration you don’t like. You should try it before you think about re-engineering it all. You might see the wisdom after you have some experience with it. You have enough to worry about in the short run just getting the row units running. As a general rule, don’t bite off more than you can chew: You are in the business of farming. Designing planters and other major equipment is a job for John Deere (and their worthy experienced competitors). It’s admirable how farmers think they can tackle anything and they are often right. But marshal your resources including time. If you really want a planter with a different tank and wheel arrangement, it probably makes sense to sell this one and buy one that is designed more to your liking.
I'm a pretty small farmer compared to you guys. In 2007 I bought a four row 7000 plateless, from the neighbor here that deals and equipment and we rebuilt it and updated it to precision meters and a fine piece of equipment, we pull ours or the red tractor Case IH LOL but we really like it. It's been a good planner the updates have made it even better but I learned at that time how to set the gauge wheels and set the disc openers and so on ours is conventional and valuable lessons I'll never forget.
You two are a blast to watch!! 😀👍👊
And I just love the Good Morning Introduction from Laura's Smiling Face!! 😀
Love when you say things that compliments each others character. Shows the love. Thumbs-up every time!
the girls a hard worker, smart, an ofcourse pretty. an even more important...........down to earth GOD bless.
Grant ..Laura knows planter repair.. lol. She did 1 last year. Kool stuff. Best get d trakor fixed. It kool lil rig. My Sub blew an oil cooler while back. Had hard time getting parts. Started drip like dat. Started it to hook to trailor n drained oil in less dan minute. Unbelievable for sure but true. Atleast it happed at dads farm n wasn't on road. 454"s aren't cheap. Lol love uall stay well n warm. God bless uall😀😁
You need to make a mix of baby oil and water 50 50 and put it in a pump sprayer and put it on your gauge wheels and mud won’t stick as easy
It’s awsome to see young farmers work together inn the shop together!!!
The video came through only in 360, too. Amazing how I have gotten "hooked" on Laura Farms.
myself, I would leave the tank where it is, lift-wheels and all; it makes a bigger 'footprint', but that same footprint gives you a bit more room to work in when stuff has to be fixed or maintained... an engineer designed the planter that way FOR A REASON, and he (or she) probably consulted with mechanics, farmers, and fabricator throughout every step of the process... you probably COULD put the tank above the planting wheels, but that doesn't mean it's a good idea.
Laura you are such a Keeper! Grant take care of Mz. Laura...which I know you do.
Very cool breakdown of the planter, but now comes the fun stuff. Stay Warm. You both rock!
Great video! For many of us non-farmers (me included), we get smarter every time we watch one. Thanks, and please continue.
I honestly don't know how ; with your bubbly personality and smile you don' t have a million subscribers Laura. Love the videos!
Thanks Laura and family . God bless and happy to see 5th generation farmers .
Larson Farms has me saying "It's Junk!" all the time now. Was fixing something the other day and caught myself saying it. 🤣
As for your central commodity system(seed tank) you'll have to make brackets for the planter bar to mount them on...keep in mind you will transfer a LOT of weight by doing this. As for your fertilizer lines you can get an aftermarket pro pump to run from your tanks to the lines...if your lines are plumbed right. You'll also need to get a good rate controller monitor for the cab.
I will second the weight shift! Taking time to calculate is a smart recommendation. Having liquid fertilizer tanks at front can partially offset but remember they are not full all the time. Good luck
Very impressed Laura. On the intro to your planter. You sound like a farmer that knows what is going on. Not just told this is the issues. I have watched you over a year now. I see you growing in so many ways. I know that we do not know each other in real life. It is just nice to see folks yours and Grants age applying yourself and not wanting hand outs or things handed to you. You do work hard and it shows in many ways.
I don't think you can move your tanks due to how the planter folds and stacks. I think JD designed it this way for a reason. Might want to just go with it.
In Australia a new planter depth wheel available to stop the mud build up. I will stand corrected. Try rfs tillage. Pretty sure that it can be retrofitted to the max emerge.
Keep the lift assist wheels on just program your itec on your tractor and use 1 to lift planter and 2 to set it down so it operates the 3 point and scv at the same time very easy to set up
Much better than any Hollywood production!
I must say your skills around farm equipment maintenance has really come a long way Laura ... always enjoy watching you and Grant working together👍
Hi folks. I would like to have seen the planter from the side before it was unfolded. That would have shown me where the tanks could be mounted.
Have good days!
I can’t imagine trying to do all that maintenance without a warm building to do it all in!!!
I recall the amount of Grease Zirk‘s on an older used New Holland bailer, my Grandpa had me shimmy under to grease for him at his old farm! 😲
Thank you for your project update. . . . work is never over "on the farm". Machinery always needs maintenance as you know well. Remember that you "get to" is a blessing and not a curse. 😊
You should leave the tank where it is and try it out first before you go and move it to the bar you could mount it on the arms of planter that holds the wheels
One of my sisters back in the late 60s had real fingernails like yours, so interesting to watch her do farm work with them! The funniest thing was her milking a cow by hand! I totally agree on the mud, keep the planter out of it!
This video is one of the best Monster commercials i've seen so far.
Haha!
Just as I started to ask about a pressure washer, you answered my question. Love when that happens.
Geeee and I always thought farmers got the winter off.🤔🤔🤔😜🤣🤪😜🤣🤪😜🤣🤪
Where’s your safety glasses??!! You have nice young eyes that work well. Keep them that way!!
Oh my goodness! I would just look at all those “parts” and cry 😢 You just dive right in and size up the whole situation! What a cool head and amazing brain you have…Love ❤️ your honest, and wholesome approach to every obstacle you face 🥰
Much admiration, Grammy 😘
Part of mud build up is from distants between gauge wheel & disk. Gauge wheel can be adjusted by moving shims on arms. Gauge wheels should be just touching to a small gap. I have many years with this type of row unit planting sugar beets, soybeans & edible beans. Lot of maintenance but work well.
Good Job Laura and Grant.......Grant I am with you..if ain't broke don't fix it.
Laura is a real professional. Grand only have to listen what she say.
Good job folks! You two are a great pair! Love seeing ya'all! Cheers from Texas!
Luv the white Monster! U guys do great video 👍🏻
Down on the farm. Is fitting
Last weekend, I restored a 20 year old washer and dryer to full working order. For me, I find it so satisfying and fun to get old things working again. I know household appliances is not the same as something like that but I think i'd be a fun challenge to get that planter working properly again. Wish I could help out!!! Good luck and have fun!!!
Love watching you guys, I’m 67 been doing this for awhile technology’s on farm equipment is amazing, I thought a Oliver super77 was the 🐝 knees
Laura I need your pill box so I can send you something I can't find it anywhere on the UA-cam channel
Here you feel back so I can send you something in the mail I don't have it and I can't find that on UA-cam channel
Love that Laura Farms actually......farms. Cant be said for a lot of other channels.
Laura, Love your videos! You guys do excellent work. Love the vintage truck in the background. Blessings for a wonderful year. ☺️☺️
Glad to see fiscal responsibility in revitalizing used equipment. Keep up the good work.
A planter is really just a dropship for a corn army.
🌷🎅🐝 that look like fun I'm glad you know what you're doing take care be safe and have fun
You two are adorable. Always upbeat and full of energy. I would consider, very carefully, moving the seed hopper, they call those lift assist wheels for a reason🤦♀️😎😊
Love that green Chevy truck. And Jesus saves.
He will definitely be ready for the season. Greetings from Croatia.
I enjoy seeing you and Grant work together. I hope we get to see some of the refurbishing work on this planter.
After seeing Grampa's beautiful John Deere Green pickup maybe getting the red Bummer Dude pickup restored and painted Case iH red for a great pair 👍
Cool video and Grant, having a partner that helps working on the equipment plus gets you breakfast sandwiches is definitely a keeper!
Good to see you working together. I hope it carries on as farming can be a lonely occupation.
I was ordering a t-shirt and hat but I just couldn't justify $13 for shipping. hopefully you'll have a sale or special offer in the near future. Really enjoy the vlog, good job!
You really disappointed a lot of guys saying "my husband Grant." LoL
He's one lucky guy!
You’re becoming a video expert Thanks for what you do
You guys should test 1 pair of press wheels by spraying them with some hydrophobic paint on the sides and see if they will shed the dirt/mud better. Rust-Oleum sells a product (Never wet).
that looks like a lot of work, Good Winter project for sure
Really enjoy the videos of you guys farming..being part of a farming operation here in eastern North Carolina it is interesting to see you guys at work. You guys might really reconsider moving the seed bins over the tool bar. It is going to put a lot of weight on the tool bar and the hydraulic system of the tractor.. Just a thought to consider...Thanks for the viddeos--you guys are special
I don't know if you can get rid of the lift-assist with CCS. Guys with box planters do it all the time. Good luck!
Laura you’re determined facial expressions were very serious LOL you guys are awesome!
Hi Laura and Grant, We love your UA-cam videos. We only wish you could post them more frequently, but I know you are kept very busy with all you do. Have a good winter,
spring is not too far off!
Enjoyed the video Laura
un grand bonjour from switzerland !!!
One look at that planter and I would have put my head down and said what in the world have I gotten myself into…you both however just jump in and fix it. What an inspiration.
Field ready
There's a reason the manufacturer put those tanks there.
I have the ability to shift them but I wouldn't want to try it.
Big job, huge :-)
You guys have so much fun!
Is this newly acquired planter 1 of the 4 or are you now up to 5 planters. Trust you were aware of all the required maintenance for this planter when you were bidding on it. You and Grant are a Great Team working together! You feed off each other in a fun, loving way that makes us all eager to see your next videos! Your equipment knowledge is very impressive! I can hardly wait for planting season!
Wasn't sure at first if you were a hands on with those extended white nails,,but you showed me that you know which end of the wrench to use,,you two stay safe
Looks like Laura and Grant are going to be spending a good amount of time in the shop, at one farm or the other. Hoping everything goes well and you have some play time before planting starts.
I had figured Laura bent that tool with her bare hands.
That is one big shop
When I need to smile, this is one channel I can always count on to fill my need. 👏🏻🚜❤️✌🏻
Good video my friends! 😎❤️
I Would use a pull behind or all steer tank for fertilizer
We just stick the wand of the power washer in the wheel and it will actually spin the whell and clean all the mud out. It worrks all the time for us
To bad that planter has so many issues. Wish you could have gotten a demo unit with an option to buy. JD stuff has lots of aftermarket upgrades for planters, combines, etc. Thanks for the video.
A other fantastic video. Really enjoying watching them
I hope you got a sweet deal on the front end of this, because you have quite a project there.
Always a pleasure to watch you two!
Great video
Love watching you guys. For the life of me, I can't figure out how you do all that you do with those beautiful long finger nail.
