I just found your channel. At 60 im setting up my first tank for neocaridina shrimp. I find them fascinating and relaxing to watch. And setting up my first tank with guppies in 52 years. Never too late to enjoy the small things in life. :)
I’m not 61, but can confirm: I got into the hobby last January and am now at 5 tanks, 2 planted vase/jars, and I’m cutting glass and building my own aquarium now. It’s an addiction in the best possible way
Hey there 👋😊 Been keeping neo shrimp for about 7months now and oh boy is it a blast!!! Watching them all twitterpated is the best! Swim swim swim 💙 Seeing the babies grow in Mama's eggs, catching them molting, and seeing the tiny babies, theres just so much magic in everything they do. In awe of the little guys n gals. Spoiling them is a privelage for sure 💙🩵💚🥰
Great video Richard. I've never bred guppies but I had a few male endlers once. I've had my shrimp colony for about 10 weeks and I'm obsessed with it. 2 females and 4 males has become a huge mass of shrimplets of different sizes. I can't get enough of watching them!
New shrimp keeper here. Have the fish but now have a shrimp tank. Watching your videos has helped a lot. Trying my best to make it all work. Appreciate the help you give out.
About 6 months ago, I converted my saltwater aquarium into a planted tank and just started planting out the sump to house shrimp using what I have learnt by watching your channel. Your videos are easy to follow and easy to understand so thanks mate.
Reason I enjoy keeping shrimp is creating a mini ecosystem within my home and being able to watch them breed and thrive 👌🏼 Greats video as per usual 🙌🏼
I love keeping shrimp because they are so funny and adorable. It is really cute watching them leap frog over a snail or slow fish. My kids and I love them!
I love keeping shrimp because they give me something to live for. A few weeks ago I was really depressed, but someone inspired me to learn something new in an old passion. I've always kept fish, but learning about shrimp has given me something to think about and look forward to.
I have shrimps because they are so cute and very active when they swim around.I absolutely love berried shrimps watching the progress of egg to a little shrimplet.I enjoy my shrimp hobby as I am home all the time due to heart disease and cardiovascular disease
I love guppies! Right now I have 2 male guppies and 2 goldback shrimp. I love watching them. The guppies will swim up to the glass and follow my finger when I drag it across the glass. The shrimp are always fun to watch because they are so busy mining the algae off the rocks. Their little "hands" are always moving and searching for food. The guppies and shrimp are great for destressing me after a trying day.
Ive just bought myself a tropical fish tank last month for my birthday with a beautiful betta and red shrimp. Watched loads of your videos on shrimps to make sure I did everything right to keep them all happy. Today I spotted 2 very large females full of eggs. Thanks for all the excellent advice in your video.
@@FishKeepingAnswers I'll get back to you on how things go. I'm really excited to see what happens, it's got lots of live plants and hiding places so fingers crossed they survive and thrive.
I love keeping shrimp because: 1. More peaceful & Less maintenance than fish 2. Breed easily 3. A simple shrimp colony beats any tank community setup, just fun to watch
I am wanting to keep shrimp again, my first group of neo lasted a year until my heater failed ths ast winter. Just got chilled to quickly before I notied.😊
Hi Richard, I fixed a crack in the bottom pannel of a tank I was given yesterday. Figers crossed I saved it. That would become my second shrimp tank... ❤❤❤
I actually keep guppies and shrimps together. .... But I do provide a lot of hiding places ... For the shrimps ❤ small babies can get eaten ... But the once who get a bit bigger ... are mostly safe
Can we have thoughts on stopping guppy procreation😅?!? I'm cycling an outdoor tub for my pair of Blue Moscow guppies because within 2 months they've had at least 75++ fry. They're packed in the tank! Too many guppies is my problem! 🤣✌️

I have been a fish keeper for years. Learning how to care for shrimp has maintained my interest in the hobby.
I love to keep shrimp because they are so cute and i love watching them eat their veggies. I currently only have 4 but i hope to get more soon.
There were a lot of helpful tips here that I will be applying to my next batch.
Thank you 🙏🏻
At first I read biatch. Something must be wrong with me.

@@FishKeepingAnswers I will.

Fairly new to Shrimp keeping... I have a tank of Malawa Shrimp that are doing quite well, but I am struggling to grow a colony of Cherry Shrimp 🙏🏽
Best thing you can do is download a copy of my book The Neocaridina Shrimp Handbook
neocaridina-shrimp-handbook.com
Best bit of keeping shrimp is the breeding I think
İ like shrimps there is no spesific reason, but if you ask about onethen i would say there variety XD Just Love them
Can you use that gel for for guppy babies
Clearly I prematurely asked that question 😂
Hey richard should i move my shrimp to tank filled with guppies

@@sagarsingh-kt6jt ok thanks for the reply
I keep shrimp in with guppies, mollies, corys and bristlenose, shrimp just keep multiplying.. 😅 it is in a good sized tank though to be fair

Great idea. I have made that video, but could do an updated one 🤔
Temp seems to be a big factor in growth rate, my guppies at 26c grow a lot faster than my other tanks at 23c.
Good point 👍🏻
I enjoy keeping shrimps over fish.
Chapters>time animations
Huh?
@@FishKeepingAnswers No need to invest time heavily in count down timers to the next topic, people do however love chapters in videos.
I feed boiled chicken liver to my guppies, and they grow very fast
Great tip. Thank you 🙏🏻
Shrimp are better than people. People suck.
