Hey there! Stupid question, but do you think it could work for multipitch climbing? I wonder wether it could hold some heavier gear (cams, nuts, QuickDraws) on the approach.

And one more question: how does it stow away? Are there any parts that don’t compress or make it bulky when being stowed in a multiday pack?

@@aaronpohl9817 Hey! It would stow away fine I’d think. I would have thought I’d would be ok in the approach, depending on how much you’re taking. But you could probably get a cheaper climbing approach bag rather than a running tbh! 🙌🙌

      Something like that maybe?!

@@TrekkingTweed thanks a lot for your rapid response! I actually have a great pack for climbing and approach, perfect pack for easy mountaineering too (BD Speed 22). What bugs me about it is that it takes a lot of space in a bigger pack and that it is a little unstable when it is not filled to the brim. It’s a classic hip belt pack. I thought a running vest could be lighter and smaller in another pack on basecamp style approaches yet better performing on the climb itself.

I bought this pack (size large for 42 inch chest) at launch and found it too snug and about an inch or so too short, making it hard to get into the back/side pockets. I found that on max effort, the vest was restricting my inhale and that's with max slack on the adjuster. For reference I usually use Gecko 12 | Adv Skin 12 | Cross Season 15. Would love to know what you think now, 3 weeks on. Or anyone else with this vest.

Cheers for the comment! That’s interesting. I’ve had the chance to play with the pack more now. It’s a lot better than the ultra direction mountain pack. I’m sure it could fit slightly better, but I’d put that down to my body size. The pack does sit further back when weighted with a 2 litre bladder in there. Found the poles attachment ok and fitting the front pouches good for the phone and food. I was interested in the adv skin! How do you find that in comparison?

@@TrekkingTweed The Adv Skin 12 is a great vest. It's at the stretchy end of the vest spectrum and I like to load water, phone and gopro in the front of my vest and this makes it bounce - understandably. All the packs I have make my back hot in the summer and that's why I tried the Veil 12. I am trying persuade the sensible part of my brain to shell out £180 to buy the Salomon S/Lab Ultra 10, which has no bladder sleeve and seems more breathable at the back.

The pack is the wrong size. You need to go down in size.

Packs been fitting nicely after that initial first run. After some adjustments and filling the pack more. When trying on the pack the size down was much too small. Perhaps I’d need an in between small and medium. To fit exactly. Would love your thoughts
