I owned one house with a crawl space that you actually had to crawl across the plastic to work on anything. I vowed I'd never have another one like that and I haven't.
Nice dodge of the rusty water! Those calls are always fun when the customer fails to inform you that they poured a gallon of bleach down the line before they finally broke down and called.😂😂😂
That was a stoppage for sure. I wonder if the HVAC industry has specific pipe material for these condensate plumbing needs. I see many many PVC clogs that you wouldn't really consider plugging up where they do. Drain pans are huge dirt/dust collectors so its a given that mud and muck is going to go with the water and then dry up at some point. Makes you wonder if 90 elbows would be replaced with sweeps to lessen the chances of clogs.
What do you think about a clean out tee instead of a 90* where the pvc came dn from attic? Then you take off red cap and clean it out with a little less getting wet 🤷
I seen a guy use a tee fitting with the end capped but a hole drilled in the cap to feed in the line and the center had a clear vinyl hose. He said he had enough of wet downs in his life!🤣
Ted, snaking a drain while proving the theorem that water seeks it's own level. As the late Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said, you fight with what you have and not with what you wish you had. In his earlier years, my guess is Ted took in a few McGyver shows. 😎
If I had been a home owner observing there, I think I would have wanted replacing the one 90 degree PVC pipe bend with 2x 135 degree PVC connections, no?
I’m not sure why but it made me really happy seeing you get drenched. You could actually hear the water coming right before it let loose! I know you’re against it but I always use nitrogen from the top to blow out clogged drains and I’ve never blown a fitting apart. Once I’m sure it’s clear, I flush all the water out of the pan through the drain with a transfer pump so all that water really flushes the pipe out really well.
I would’ve tried CO2 before and all this other work. 300 psi burst will probably have cleared it. That’s all that they have for flushing line sets are used at also for putting CO2 through a line. The rubber part of it seals very well. If that doesn’t do it then yeah you’re up to something else.
Question: Natural gas pipe is often installed with a "drip leg" when it makes a 90 degree bend. Do you have any experience with trying that same technique with condensate pvc?
Yeah, I’m sorry about that. I have a new software, and I am struggling just to get videos out. You can see from many many of my other videos. I always lower the volume when the vacuum is running and even flash it across the screen with text to tell you the volume is lowered so you don’t think something went wrong with your own sound. Again, sorry and I hope to have the situation corrected by the next video.
@@TedCookHVAC I'm watching ALL your old videos and I've noticed the words on the screen are you not able to put the words on the screen with the new software
The money shot! 💰💦😎👍
But not the one he wanted it expected!😂
Another great video!!
Thank You for watching !! I really appreciate the support !!
Ted's livin' off the land! Good job!
The old money shot! Good job Ted! 👍👍
Thanks for taking one for the team. I can't stand those home-improvement videos where they're standing up in a basement sweating brand-new pipes!
"Good Lord!"
Haha, excellent work Ted
Great job as usual. I used long radius electrical fittings for drains like that. You can run a fish tape all the way back to the unit.
You still got those cat like reflexes!!!
Water management, the joys of a mid afternoon shower.
I love the look on your face at 9:38. hahahaha
Ted , that's why I keep a small bottle of hair conditioner in my tool bag ...My Veto Pro Pac bag that is !!! ... Thx ole Buddy good vid

I laughed so damn hard! You got the heck out of there!!!

Does that part of SC have radon gas issues? Is there another reason for the sealing of the dirt?
Well Ted, that was a big Gush of water, i hope you didn't have far to travel to change your shirt and jeans 👍 Au
Those encapsulated crawlspaces are nice to crawl in though. I promote them!!!!
Ted, Hello from Illinois!
lol when the vac cant suck it out i use a special hose noozle and back flush with hose for 3-5 sec then put the vac back repeat until clears
That was good to me😂... always learn from your videos, thanks
@9:35 the money shot 😂

The 1" clear plastic tubing works great for repairs of 3/4 pvc.
If you can always use 45s instead of 90s if possible. The velocity decreases so much it can't carry any of the debris with 90s it will clog over time.
Lol laughed my ass off only cause I’ve been there myself and didn’t move as fast as you did brother.
Love your videos. Thx.
The money shot!
Nice work Theodore. Must admit I chuckled when it let go. We’ve all been through that one at least a few times.👍👍🇨🇦
This is the most epic video on your channel. Good laughs
Way to dodge there Ted. Almost got you! Luckily, you have those catlike reflexes.
Nice job uncle ted
That had some pressure
They never seem to include an independant drain for those Dehumidifiers. Another good video Ted.😎
Title of this video should have been “The Cowboy takes a Shower “ !

Industry should make 90 degree elbows like for electrical. Those short sharp 90 degree PVC elbows are too restrictive for gravity drains.
Reflexes like a cat 😅
Steve Lav would be saying, You Got a Leaka Momma.

bow chick a wow wow

Now it just needs a cup of Yellow Death poured through it to help it STAY running.
Ted you ask for it lol

Ok, at least it wasn't one of those kind of showers (plumbers know about those). 😂

Psheww… good lord!! LOLOL
With how this summer has been, might not have been so bad to cool off
Uncle Ted got a shower!!!!!!!!! 🤣🤣😂😂🏊♀🏊♀🛀🛀🛀🛀🛀

You moved pretty quick … glad it didn’t get you to bad.
6” to your left was all you needed for a viral money shot! I still got a laugh at how that worked out. Nice job! 😁
Would a clogged drain be covered by the warranty?
Ted have you gotten away from "yellow death"?
Question: Natural gas pipe is often installed with a "drip leg" when it makes a 90 degree bend. Do you have any experience with trying that same technique with condensate pvc?
why do we use 3/4" drains and not something a little larger to prevent clogging?
$$
You need drain solvent. It clears drains really easy
Why they put a 90 degree elbow on the drain line is beyond me. Seems that a sweep elbow or any that isn't a 90 degree bend.....but what do I know?
Not good that's nasty ass water all over you Ted but as ever you are the man of the situation.
Free shower Lol
2 videos in one week
When you find 90 like that, wouldn't a conduit sweep fix that problem
Dang
you should get a leatherman free p2 and keep in your pocket would have came in handy save a trip to the truck
Big leaker mama
unscheduled showers are great! yea not. 🤣🤣🤣
Borescope?
Charge a extra 200 for the wet shoulder
You need to carry a swoosh/gallo gun
Ted they make a thing called the drain Kat. I wouldn't be blowing on the pipe with your mouth. Bro you can catch all types of crap doing that.
Hi
And now you legionnaire’s disease!
THUMBS DOWN YOU NEED TO GIVE PEOPLE A WARNING THAT YOU'RE GOING TO USE THE VACUUM AT FULL VOLUME
Yeah, I’m sorry about that. I have a new software, and I am struggling just to get videos out. You can see from many many of my other videos.
