With the advent of cement-mortar linings beginning in the early 1920’s, tuberculation in iron pipe hasn’t been an issue. Still, this hasn’t prevented alternative material pipe makers from perpetuating the myth of tuberculation in Ductile Iron pipe as a marketing scare tactic. The fact is modern cement linings have eliminated the issue of widespread pipe tuberculation.
