Some great material in there! I like the shrink wrap cable ties - I normally use a cable tie to tie the cables, but this is much neater. The Scotchguard, I already use. Had a couple of car roof racks come with similar and they never scuffed in lots of use. Great stuff for lots of protective places. And a man after my own - top boxes look awful, no use to carry any significant weight for their size putting it behind the rear wheel and affecting the front end, as well as catching the wind. Like you I use a small 10/15L tail bag for waterproofs and odds. Much as I love SWM gear, my tail bag is only a £15ish Chinese one but I reckon equally as good as the SW for what it does. I just use the straps to affix, but like your board idea! I have two CTeKs - both the 0.8 motorcycle model which I believe is all a motorcycle requires for trickle charge, with the larger ones more capable for bigger vehicles. I also have an Optimate 4 (I have three bikes, so they all get hooked up in bad weather down times!) I prefer the CTeKs - not sure why, I think they all run similar programs. Also with you on the bags. I happen to have a couple of handlebar bags - again cheapos off eBay - which are SO useful when you don't want a tank bag. You turn out such high quality video content with really sensible objective material. We may not all agree on each others feelings but you always explain your position and why you feel a certain way.
I second the bicycle accessories point! I, rather conveniently, have been a cyclist for over 25 years prior to getting my first bike. I've been using the smaller bike bags virtually since day 1, but hands down the best one for me is my no-name insulated drink holder that velcros on (comfortably secure even at 100kmh). When summer rolls round here in Japan, daily highs are regularly over 35C, so every little bit of chilled fluids helps.
That first hack is great, I did something similar with my F900 XR. Instead of using cable ties I attached some velcro around the USB plug and underneath one of the plastic panels of the motorcycle. When not in use the plug is out of sight and water ingress is hardly a concern if you find a great spot. As you might remember the 900 XR isn't equipped with a USB power socket so the cable I have is permanently attached to the bike. The cable tie solution did come to mind but water damage was more of a concern so I opted for the velcro idea instead.
Great tips RM, I will be using the protective film idea in the future. You're right about looking at cycling shops for kit, camping and outdoors shops are good too. We are often taken for mugs when the cost of things go through the roof when connected to the word motorcycle!

My dealer highly recommended it and it seems to work on anything. Windscreen, paint, chrome and carbon fiber. I like idea of your zip tie holder. I will definitely use that. Your bike is coming along nicely. Best!
I went with the trax adventure cases, trax toolbox and barkbusters on my tiger as well. I went all out on triumph original acsessories too. And I changed the tires to dunlop trailmax mission.
Another great and easy mod from one of your earlier videos - change out to valve caps that match an accent colour on the bike - makes them really easy to find (and importantly) check tyre pressures.
Good morning RM May I ask a couple of questions about the Quad lock mount please? Are you happy with the accessory bar and what are your thoughts on vibration damaging the phone camera? I've a 2020 Tiger GT Pro
The AliExpress accessory bar offers good quality for the money. The weight of my iPhone 14 Pro Max means it does wobble a bit on the mount, but this is different to, and less destructive than vibration. Touch wood, I have not had any problems with Quad Lock mounts, but I do always use their anti-vibration thing…🤞😊
Fantastic list! the foam grips also help to prevent the original grips from getting damaged after a few thousand kms. and great tip on the cyclist bag !
Good stuff. When you change your tank bag, have a look at the new Pro City WP which is totally waterproof and does away with the faff of a waterproof cover .
I'm going to look into those Grip Puppies! I'm sure I could they'll come in handy to quell the vibrations! and I'll look into those other suggestions as well!
Nice collection of ideas there. I've just got a Tiger 850 Sport, which already had a smallish top box on it, which I think that I'll keep on it. I got the Speedo Angels display protector, but went for the anti glare one, which just cuts the reflections on the display down a bit. I'll have a look at that larger bar for the windshield adjuster. Lower crash bars and an MRA touring screen are also on my shopping list! 😂
Some clever ideas there! I was going to use electrical tape to create a barrier between where the seat touches the frame rails and wears through the paint. But I think I might get some of that cloth tape instead. I'm in the process of figuring out how to put a car radar detector on the bike I'm 1/2 done, because I already worked out a way that it will audio alert into a wireless earpiece under my helmet.
@@RocketMan_Moto We should go into business making proper motorcycle radar detectors. The lot of motorcycle detectors on the market is a tiny, sorry selection, and overpriced.
