Juliette, you continue to amaze us. You acted like you had done it for years. I walk in mornings on a local Greenway in NC. Recently I was walking and just had my head down focusing on not being so hot. I saw my foot land about 1 foot in front of a 3-4 foot copperhead's head as he was crawling across the path. Of course I did a quick dance and got a few feet away. I looked back and he was continuing across the path as if I had never even been there. I watch a little closer now, but because of your site and Chandler and some others, I understand a little more about the snakes.

Jay is an awesome guy who is using his gifts to educate all of us. I'm happy that he is showing us that we don't have to be scared of these beautiful creatures that we have in the world but to respect them and let them live in their habitat without bothering them.

Hi Jay Juliette did such an excellent job. I didn't realize that the rattlesnake was so heavy. The Gaboon viper is so beautiful, and has such a nice pattern to the scales. That is my favorite snake. 🐊🦎🐍🐢♥️Cindy

I'm 35 and I remember going to Prehistoric Pets when I was about 10 years old. 25 years ago!
I remember reading in the Guiness Book of World Records back in the late 70s as a kid that the largest Gaboon Viper ever found had bit itself in the back one night and died when zoo keepers came in the next day. A beautiful but deadly snake.

I was just watching Tyler Nolan’s video of getting bitten by a king cobra! He was hospitalized for 8 weeks and lost half his finger, but luckily still alive. I was wondering when I would see a video on your channel with venomous snakes! They are all such interesting creatures. Keep up the great work Jay and Juliet! 🐍

Beautiful color snakes
I live is South Africa on the East coast and have seen a snake handler "bag" a Gaboon Viper/adder... and I think what he did was much more saver then what you did at 10:12 with your hand holding the bag open so close to its head. Ok but what this snake handler did was, he grabbed his bag by the corner away from the opening and turned the bag inside out over his hand and arm, then picked up the snake by the tail with the bag in the same hand, picked up the snake he worked the bag down over his hand turning it "outside in" over the snake from the tail till it covered the head. Still holding onto the tail all the time using his hook to work the snake so that it coiled up pulling its own head into the bag opening. he also used his hook to pull the sting that closed the bag.
I'm guessing being on his knees isn't a great idea either.

Terrified of snakes, but I absolutely love the Gaboon Viper. That, and a King Cobra I really really like. It’s a crazy fear because an alligator doesn’t bother me at all, but snakes and bloody lizards, omg, I can’t ever imagine wanting to see one without an inch of glass between us.

Jay, I love ya man your so much fun and do a great job. Your daughter is your right arm and she has the same love for these animals as you do. It takes a lot of courage, I will and love with dedication and she has like I said the same qualities as you can so I’m sure you’re proud of your daughter I think she’s awesome.

Tyler has some huge eastern rattlers too. Beautiful snakes though. Gaboon is probably my favorite venomous snake. Wish there was some place or person near me I could mentor under. Good job Juliette. Handled it like a pro 😉
Tyler also had a phat ass Gaboon, but it passed or was euthenized (I forget), had some weird growth around mouth couldn't be healed...).
@@beyondquestion think your thinking about his rhino. He still has the gaboon. the gaboon did have some bacterial issue in the mouth. Thats when he had the video with Justin giving it meds.
@@DubCity618 Right, but, isn't that the one that eventually succumbed? I thought it did, I'm have to check again cuz it's been a minute. I'm still subscribed, but I haven't seen that far back in a minute. I just remember them trying and trying to correct that, growth, and it never really healing, affecting it's eating habits and such, least that's what I remember. Take in consideration, seems I have the memory of a fruit fly and attention span of popcorn so...^^

That Eastern Diamondback is HUGE. Getting tagged by one of those at that size without anti-venom nearby is going to make your last day a REALLY bad one.
On second thought, that Viper is giving me a bad day just looking at it. That is NOT something I'd EVER want to see in the wild.
I've always been curious as to why snake hooks aren't longer? Oh, I get it that it's easier to control the animal if you are also grabbing the tail. But I would imagine that there would be an alternative and longer hook for when one wishes to more safely avoid being bitten?
You underestimate how strong these snakes can be. They are pure muscle, having the snake hook too long would make it hard to control and you would be relying solely on your hand/wrist muscle to hold it up, rather than your arm.
@@FloppyJoee, I've handled BIG pythons - yes, I do realize a heavy snake would make a long hook impractical. Guess I'm thinking of smaller but venomous snakes. Course, that rattler IS enormous (not sure how heavy).
