- She’s still just as feisty as last year 😂 this mom to the rainbos retics usually has it out to get me around egg time and it’s no different this time 🌈 everyone loved her babies last year so make sure to check in in 84 days when her eggs are hatching 🐣 meanwhile let’s hope I don’t have any mishaps while saving them 😅

@@bloomingflxwer2835 Yep basically no snake 😂, sounded good when I thought of it
My mother would never let me get a snake
@@amygreenaway333 I thought so too, but now I've got 2 (corn + boa). Sound arguments: you won't see them unless you want to, they don't nake noise, they don't stink, they don't bite your mailman :D
I love how shes striking a little more slowly. Shes basically telling him 'im not stupid, i know what youre doing'
Lucas is the man.... its obvious you're trying your best to calm her down but what mother is not gonna protect they're babies.
how you can stay so positive and upbeat when you have a snake trying to eat your face, I will never know. you are a hero! also love the education. you make a very scary animal understandable.
You get used to it, and you know they're just acting on instinct. Once the eggs are gone she'll be a sweetheart again
Love your personality and how chill when mama strikes at you lol

I love his videos they are funny and interesting
I didn't know you guys were from California, I actually was trying to apply for a job at local reptile stores and prehistoric pets was actually one of the ones I applied for. I got a hold of somebody, told them my experience with reptiles, and they seemed really interested.
I wasn't quite sure if this was the same Prehistoric Pets or if there are multiple with the same name. I live in Southern California. I worked at reptile Island for a short while. However on my very first day, I had my ear ripped into ribbons by a beautiful Blue Tegu. She was blind in one eye and there was a bunch of children yelling and trying to touch her. She was startled and I was trying to keep her from possibly injuring any of the kids. Eventually she crawled on my shoulder, bit my ear and preformed a death roll. It hurt really bad but I was way more embarrassed than anything. I became a bit more hesitant after that because my co-workers didn't tell me the behavior of the animals. I didn't know which ones I could safely handle and which ones I needed to be cautious of. They said the Tegu was a sweet heart and had never bitten anybody before. There were very deep wounds on my ear and I was surprised that it healed without stitches.
Eventually they layed some of us off. I was very upset because they said the reason why I was laid off was because they needed confident people that can handle the animals no matter what happens. But ever since that day that I was injured by that Tegu, I wanted nothing more than to get back in and handle some reptiles again. I still to this day am upset about that because all I ever wanted was to be with these beautiful animals no matter how injured I got in the process. It's an occupational hazard.
The reason why I was less confident, was because the co-workers themselves and their attitudes towards me the entire time working there. I wish they would have given me more of a chance and teach me how to become a better handler, but it seemed nobody wanted to teach anyone anything at all. They would sit and laugh at me when I made little mistakes and refused to show me the right way. Instead of helping, they would sit and watch me mess up even when I asked them for help. They excluded me from any conversation about what reptiles were coming in. Eventually they sent me to the back room to throw away dead rats and mice and they would make me stay there until closing time. When I wanted to work after closing they wouldn't let me and just told me to go home. The workers made me feel very unwelcome and when I asked them what I could have done better, all they said was get more confidence then come back to them. But how can someone learn if there is no one willing to teach. So I have been Studying reptiles and how to better care for them in a work environment. I'm watching videos like yours as well as other experienced reptile owners and learning what I can about them.
But I feel that there is no better way to learn than Hands-On experience though I know it can be dangerous at times. I just want to feel that passion and drive again. I want to be around coworkers that I can really be my true self around, I am absolutely great with people and with children. I would love to be able to handle reptiles again. I worked so hard and I would be willing to work after hours because I absolutely love being around animals.
A job like prehistoric pets sounds like something that would absolutely drive me, and fill me with that passion of being close to these wonderful animals again. I would even start at the bottom like sweeping floors or cleaning cages and move my way up. It's been my dream to work with animals since I was a little girl. Unfortunately, a lot of reptile businesses want experienced people who have done it for years and years but not willing to teach somebody until they are experienced as well. These highly trained people had to learn somewheres. What should I do?
Don’t change you’re on the money 🔥🔥🔥 perfect path 🔥
She is a BIG snake! ❤️😂 Livin’ the dream! 😂
Hello from Houston, TX!
We can play a drinking game for the number of times @Jay says "Come on, girl!"

Great job!!! Great video!!
You are very brave, buddy.
You're like Kevin James mixed with Ace Ventura XD
I completely trust you and your method on snake handling because you can really see all they do is displaying primal and natural instinct, they're not necessarily agitated or even provoked.
They're just being good mamas, and people *NEED* to remember snakes are just like people - they HAVE different personalities, they HAVE different moods and statues every day and every hour. they can be tired, friendly, flighty, hangry, grumpy, affectionate. All of it.
Plus burning energy like that is also good for em cause that means they get to sleep like a couple wet lazy mops while ya'll do all the work to make them feel comfortable how 'bout that XD
Talk 'bout a royal snake!
Affectionate?
I have always been afraid of snakes due to my brother..long story..bu I love watching you do your dream job.
She's very pretty.
The snake just wants a kiss hahahahh s
Wish I can do the last part nice snake doe

is it me or does anyone else laugh when the snake strikes
8:18 Wait WhaOh 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
I counted 43...what a wild experience tho! Lol 😆
I love that you're Christians! Our creator is amazing in his intelligent design! Also Lucas looks like Leonardo DiCaprio
I’m new to the channel.. my question is since this is such a crazy situation why don’t you just grab the entire clutch and then move and count and separate after everything has calmed down and snake is away? I feel like that would be the smartest and safest way to go about this situation instead of doing this all while the snake keeps trying to attack you
They don't bite unless someone touches them actually
That's easier said than done. Especially with a retic.
The safest way for humans would actually be quickly grab the snakes neck/head and rip the snake off but what's safest for humans isn't always right. This is actually what's best for snake. He puts the snakes first which is awesome. Watch more videos he really educates us on this channel. You will love it. No worries I asked the same thing when I first watched and I have owned snakes before.
i’m also new to the channel.. i thought the same exact thing. but my guess is that they can pick out the infertile ones and safely place the eggs one by one in the new bucket, without the snake knocking them over. i’m sure if they pick up the clutch at once, it can maybe fall apart? (i’m no expert but that’s my theory!)
My guess is because he cares less about the snake and more about the money and likes. Honestly, how this man got this far in the industry being this stupid, I’ll never know.
Just subbed , I love watching you but dam you give me nightmares 👍❤🇬🇧
I'm hooked!!!!❤
Can't wait to see the clutch from the last video
Wish I lived closer I'd become a fixture there lol
this is just amazing
I've been watching you on snapchat and today there was a video about Coconut and her cage mate that is, as of yet, unnamed. I thought it would be cute if she were named Rum or Cream so that together they'd be Coconut Rum or Coconut Cream

Too sweaty to almost nosebleed👃🩸

Oh Jay tell us about how did you begin to handle snakes, perhaps when you were a child?
He has an interesting story, and could write an autobiography. As an orphan, he visited a reptile place and got the dream of having his own. He started out small, in pet stores and grew from there.
@@christinamann3640 thanks for your words 👍
Sure, he should love his job, he is always laughing.
