Do you need to use the special tool to get the ball joint loose or can you just hammer out the ball joint from the bottom if you have a spacer inserted to give it room to move?

would have been nice if he used a torque wrench and listed the specs. because over tightening can cause bolt breakage
You are absolutely right, in practice it is imperative to use a torque wrench and observe the appropriate tightening torques.
torque wrench is for pussies

Excellent and helpful in every way! (and a great looking guy too)
Would this be the same on a 2011 Elantra Limited?
Thank you for your feedback! Generally, the replacement process is similar, still there might be some constructive differences. A special tool should always be at hand during the replacement process. Best regards, Autodoc!
How simple! But Nissan Almera is more difficult than Hyundai
Thank you for your feedback!
Very nice video. I have a 2007 kia optima 2.4. Should this process be similar as well as the removal tool shown? Will the 17 mm bolt apply as well? Thanks.
