      Funny he says that. The car is listed at a ridiculous price, and is currently listed at auction with several disclosed error codes, albeit generic codes from the auction meaning it probably has dozens of BMW specific error codes stored. It also has many other issues documented that he doesn't even mention in the video. This is reference from the auction inspection report on that car:
      Emissions P013E O2 Sensor Delayed Response - Rich to Lean Bank 1 Sensor 2
      -- Pressure Too Low in High-Pressure System (Bank 1)
      Emissions P142E Cylinder Injection Cut-Off
      Emissions P2297 O2 Sensor Out of Range During Deceleration Bank 1 Sensor 1
      Emissions P2419 EVAP System Switching Valve Control Circuit Low
      This car is far from fixed. I'm not sure why he is pretending everything was good after he cleared the codes? He didn't even mention that the car basically failed inspection and will not be covered for return to the auction for any of the above listed issues. This car may as well be as-is at the auction.

    Even on the earlier N52, changing the Vanos solenoids was pretty normal. Owners who failed to keep up with their oil changes would definitely have vanos related issues because the passages are small and prone to clogging.
    Later on BMW added screens to the oil feed and even simplified the oil control circuit only for that to lead to new issues😂

  • @robertwikander5914
    @robertwikander5914 Місяць тому +23

    Alex while I watched you remove the "M" off of that horrible BMW purchase I was thinking of a hack that I've seen guys do before. You take dental floss & heat it up like you did and then just run dental floss behind it. That pulls the glue, the "M" or whatever else you want removed. Pulls everything off and doesn't damage the paint. Just thought I'd share that with you.

    • @Dwigt_Rortugal
      @Dwigt_Rortugal Місяць тому +3

      I can confirm that this works great. The only issue I've had is with the floss breaking, so I double or triple the strand. I'm guessing that fishing line would work pretty well, too. Any residue left behind will usually come off quickly with an eraser wheel.

    As a dealer, I have gone through arbitration a few times. Usually the car is being auction off greenlight… which of course means it’s good to go and then when I go to pick it up, there’s an issue and I usually try to handle it before I even leave the lot. A lot of times the Auction house will not even take it back if you leave the lot with it so it’s important to check it out thoroughly do as much as you can on the auctions property. That way you can just hand them the keys and say NOPE

Boy o boy were they something to gawk at I'll tell ya. We had an Alpina B7 that would come in too... My first experience with a z8 was during this time. The service manager at the time had a z3 with an E36 M3 engine (zM3) and I ended up with a nice 328i X-Drive. Jet black w/Coral Red... thanks Catherine, wherever you're at. As for the dealer not telling me what service was done on the car before I purchased it. They have said the same thing that they could not tell me any past service. I have been in the car/RV business for 30 years, and what I have found it that some dealerships are a little confused about what info they can divulge. What they can not share is past customers personal info. But nothing should stop them what repairs have been done. So for some reason a few dealerships have a misunderstanding and the can share what was done just not who owned it.

The only, and he means "only" models that might be worth considering are 1999 - 2001 740i with 6 cyl engines - no v8's. Problem is those cars usually have 200-300 kms or miles on them - so the lower mileage options will be few and far between. Otherwise new BMW with full factory warranty is the only way to go.

After I did the service it never put a foot wrong. The best solution for these X6s is honestly N55 or N54 swapping them. Those are much more manageable and if you want a little extra power you can do bolt-ons and make more then the V8s. It's alot less expensive then fixing at this point. It would be cool to see someone do that.

    I've never owned a BMW, and although I like the idea of owning one, I don't think my heart could handle it. I have owned a vehicle that never stopped having issues though and now I have PTSD for any car noises, especially when taking long trips. It was a Volvo wagon. It hadn't been maintained well and had 121k on it when I bought it. It was like peeling the onion of problems. Fixed a few problems and more showed up. After spending way more money than I should have I was still having issues where it was in the shop once a month. I ended up starting Door Dash and Uber Eats deliveries and was doing it with this car, but between it being down and the bad gas mileage I decided to give up on it and sold it (in decent working order) for a newer hybrid for better gas mileage. Sold the old car for $6k and paid $6k plus taxes for the hybrid. Put $800 into repairs on the hybrid and haven't had any other issues with this car. But anytime I hear anything odd now with either of my vehicles I think it's about to fall apart.

    I am part of a dealer that buys plenty of cars from this dealer auction and I found this on the app. I must say your auction rep was very thorough with the condition report. I have had plenty of cars arrive in way worse condition than specified but I think they did a great job for you, and whoever buys this will be very happy with the condition when it arrives! Now should I pull the trigger on it???

    Hey Giesbrecht, the willow tree is going to get trunk rot near the base as the dirt is up much too high. The original hole should be deep and the top of the soil should be right around where the tree starts to flare out towards the root system.

    I like the way you get messed up cars and make them look flawless. You should name it "Sweet Cherry"

    Ya Alex my friend this is part of the reason why I've never been a BMW guy. Back when I was a senior in school my gurlfriends dad owned a small used lot and crushed cars as well we ended up getting a older 745i for 500 bucks that had engine running issues and no air conditioning. I wound of fixing it by just fixing a vacuum leak and recharging the ac. I drove the car for around 8 months it was this hideous salmon color but was a pretty fun car. One day however during school I got called to the office from class because my car was on fire. Never did find out why but it burnt to the ground basically. Luckily it was fairly cheap. Years later I became a salesmen for audi vw and benz out of the Mike raisor stores in Lafayette and learning how much better they are I nowadays I don't buy anything but these three makes for my daily. Now I do own a 56 Buick but it has a engine from a 2013 benz cls63. But hands down my 2017 audi A4 with stage 2 apr tune is my favorite daily. My A6 tdi is really nice to and I just hit 80k and have never had an issue with any of these cars.
