It's really not a good game. You can easily beat it in under two hours and it was forty bucks. Projared finished it in an hour and a half and he spent about 15 minutes against a boss being dumb. Luckily Steam let's you return any game that you play for less than two hours. So essentillay, you could play the whole game for free if you really wanted to put yourself through that. Also, Bubsy doesn't talk much purely because there's a slider for it. If you put the slider all the way up to the setting 'Bubsy' it's awful.

When cats fall, they spread themselves out, due to their light weight and large body (compared to dogs who have large bodies and heavy weights compared to cats), they fall like Bubsy does, although they can't actually glide like that. Due to this weird falling ability, a cat usually has less of a chance of injury the *higher* up they fall. I think they tried to make Bubsy too much like Bugs Bunny in his design and his sassy attitude. Even his name is similar. You don't see Bugs Bunny trying to be a video game mascot like Mario. It just wouldnt work. They may have had more success if they made Bubsy a cartoon show.
I just watched it on UA-cam, as soon as you said it existed. The result? A raging headache, almost puking into my Pepsi (when it turned out "What could possibly go wrong?" was the main running gag), and the loss of a thousand brain cells. And twenty-three wasted minutes. The part where the game takes you back to the beginning is like symbolism for how none of your actions matter and the way you die from one hit reflects how fragile the human body and mind is. The cluttered art style and how the screen is full of shit is social commentary for how suffocating it can feel to live in a modern society where you're constantly bombarded by media, news, tweets and other visual stimulus that makes you feel insignificant and confused. Bubsy 3D is like a visual representation of manic depression. Bubsy is smiling and cheerful throughout, while trying to jump his way out of a bland and depressing world.

I think the difference stands because Bubsy looks like a real bobcat (except for being bipedal and using a t-shirt), you can tell Knuckles and Sonic are not normal because they have unrealistic forms and colours for their species. I think that's Jon's point of view, if something has an ability irrelevant to their real life counterpart, also make the caracter look irrelevant to the real life counterpart

Also, if you wanna get technical about it, cats do have a slight gliding ability in real life. When cats fall, they spread themselves out, due to their light weight and large body (compared to dogs who have large bodies and heavy weights compared to cats), they fall like Bubsy does, although they can't actually glide like that.
Due to this weird falling ability, a cat usually has less of a chance of injury the *higher* up they fall.

Good source, it's strange to think the higher they are, the safer it is, but it makes some sort of sense, they spread their body so wide to slow the fall.

Actually if an object has a velocity with as reference to let's say a hedgehog, the hedgehog has the same velocity in the opposite sense with as reference that object. So theoretically a hedgehog won't move fast referring to Earth, but can move at 120 km/h referring to a car on the highway. That is, until it gets run over by said car.

I think they tried to make Bubsy too much like Bugs Bunny in his design and his sassy attitude. Even his name is similar. You don't see Bugs Bunny trying to be a video game mascot like Mario. It just wouldnt work. They may have had more success if they made Bubsy a cartoon show.

The part where the game takes you back to the beginning is like symbolism for how none of your actions matter and the way you die from one hit reflects how fragile the human body and mind is. The cluttered art style and how the screen is full of shit is social commentary for how suffocating it can feel to live in a modern society where you're constantly bombarded by media, news, tweets and other visual stimulus that makes you feel insignificant and confused. Bubsy 3D is like a visual representation of manic depression. Bubsy is smiling and cheerful throughout, while trying to jump his way out of a bland and depressing world.
