Hi Chris, I was struggling with a big draw and hooked shots as well as the odd sh*nk, this drill literally sorted me out instantly and I am striking the ball so much more consistent and have just shot my two best rounds ever! Hard to believe something so simple can have such a dramatic effect! Thanks Chris for the excellent advice! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I have same damn problem. Will try this !
Thanks very much Chris. I have been struggling with an acute inside to out golf swing for ages. Tried many drills, but this is the first that really works! I am now even able to hit outside to in (couldn't do this before).
Thank you so much. I kept thinking I was too steep and you have explained it so I could understand what I was actually doing.
This video has made me want to play golf again. I felt so discouraged because my swing was so in to out that I kept shanking every shot. I took a couple of swings using this drill and it seemed to work almost instantly. Thank you!!!
Thank you thank you thank you! I've been trying to correct my major in to out loopy swing for quite some time and this has totally fixed it.
This is awesome because this is exactly what my golf swing is doing and the research In struggling.
Thank you thank you thank you! Simple and to the point. You are the best!
this is really helpful- gets the shoulders turning before the club drops as I tend to do the opposite: drop it under before i start down and then my shoulders tilt up.
Excellent that is pin point my issue and bern like that for years. Will really work on emulating this path/feeling of the shouders.
Thanks much Chris. This really works. My son Anirudh Chandroth used to play Junior Golf in India. He even had the privilege of playing with Aditi Ashok the Olympics fourth position holder. Because of this issue, his game was severely impacted. I shared your video with him last week and told him to forget about everything else and focus on the shoulders. It was magical to find him hit 300 yards with the driver. 🍸to your lessons looking forward to more such smart advices.
Thanks for this I'm trying to swing more to the left and this idea has helped.
Having this exact same problem with my driver which leads to hooks & blocks. Great video Chris!
Chris this was a fantastic video. I am a 2 handicap and I have recently been having this problem. This was a great swing thought !
great video...worked brilliantly.
I greatly enjoyed this information. Awesome perspective!
Awesome, thanks Chris, Scott
Thanks Chris...spot on!
Thanks it is helpful, I have a inside path with a draw, but sometimes it makes a massive hook, worse the longer the iron.
Really helpful direction…eager for warm weather to follow your advice! Thx
Excellent Chris! I will try tomorrow.
This is a nice drill. Too often do we focus on position of the club face and the body as a whole and not individual parts of the body. This is a great drill.
Great information! Thank you.
great video cant wait to try it. ive been snap hooking for months
Great vid, more on this please.
Excellent video.
good drill Chris and very relevant to my golf swing [divots way out to the right!!]
Almost get the feeling my head is moving forward and up earlier than normal at impact??
Thank you
superbly explained Chris... thats me and I think that will help
Great tip. I am going to try this tomorrow at the range. I was hitting a 7 iron 155 yards, 2 years ago. Today, I hit it only 125 yards. I am always hitting the ball on the bottom of the club, but center. I know my swing has gotten progressively more inside out over time. Probably too much.
I think this will solve my problem. Hitting it 13 degrees in to out and leaving the clubface open about 12 degrees. I’m so so grateful. Thank you Chris.
Same! I can't imagine what it feels like to over the top. Never in 30 years have I been over the top. Best.
Thanks so much Chris. I knew I was getting stuck and swinging too far inside/under the plane but didn't know how to correct this problem. I was pushing quite regularly. Now I am hitting straighter and able to release the club better. Great video!
Thanks Chris
I think this tip might be a useful tip to avoid the hosel rocket which has plagued my game for years. Early days but thank you Chris.
brilliant advice. just what i needed !
+allen burdett Thanks Allen
I bloody hope this works. I come so far from the inside I either duck hook left or fade it right 70% of the time
Thanks chris. left shoulder stay down and back have helped me with my game. I now can take divot. What bout driver? Does the left shoulder go up or same like irons?
Just had a lesson with my pro and he identified an in to out swing and I kept getting the club trapped, saving with my hands and generally loosing my balance and spraying the balls to all parts as well and fats and thins. I have struggled to change my swing path so far with just trying to hit it left, but will try this drill to correct this issue.
Old vidéo but very good feel to fix this issue
Excellent as usual. Deffo one for practising. I’ve been struggling to hit a controlled fade for a long time. This looks a promising solution
Thanks Colin
Good bless you
Do you know how many shanks i have have made because of the in to out swing, tomorrow i will practice this, thank you
Chris, one of these days can you make a video talking about driver accuracy? I'm ok with distance. But I'm spraying it all over the place. Either a duck hook or a biiiiig push.
This drill is brilliant.
Thanks Darren
Chris, top golfers talk about keeping their back to the ball for as long as possible during the downswing. Is this the same thing? i.e. keeping left shoulder down and around?
I wish I would have recorded my swings. Yesterday I worked on this In my own at Golf galexy. For an hour only.... I fixed my swing.... my ball flight is extremely straight. And my plane is slightly inside my right forearm vs way inside like It was before. I’ve lost about 8mph tho because In not holding angles as much. But I’m sure once I get consistency with this “new feel” ill get my speed back. But I want control. I’ll sacrifice 8-10 yards per club to hit more greens.... shot an 80 the other day and I doubled every par 3......
Does this drill contradict your "how to rotate & bend drill"?
I found i threw the club out to much, i personally found keeping the elbows level on the downswing worked better, food for thought if this does not work for you.
I suffer from blocks and just realized I do this exact thing, way too much spine tilt. Will try it out next time I'm at the range. cheers
+Brian Fidler Thanks Brain hope the practice went well
Hi Chris Great Video Seems to be what i struggle with in my swing, excited to try it, only thing in question i didnt hear u mention is what about clearing out with your hips or opening up? Looks like a shoulder staying level or down thru impact but what to you do with your lower half?
When you turn your shoulders your hips clear automaticly
Left shoulder low as a drill? Basically to stop the right dropping too soon?
I knew I was developing this issue trying hard to fade my 3 wood but when my gap wedge started flying 15 yards longer than normal slightly left and it’s a wet cold outside things got real!
Does this shoulder move down and to the left also help with early extension? Is there any relationship between the two?
I def think it does
How bout with driver???
my path with irons are 5-10 into out but my driver is usually on 0-4 into out
does this same tip work for a driver, or just irons? I swing too much from the inside with both. How would one fix the issue with the driver?
nicholas walker same
Watch Rory or Tigers swings in slow motion. Their left shoulder is very clearly pointed up at the sky during their downswing. This might band-aid the problem, but this is clearly not what great golfers are doing
I started at 11 degrees in to out. Now I’m at around 4-6
You can still hit a fade with a into out swing As long as your club face is more open in degrees than your swing path. I have been on a track man many times and it is true.
Cannot stop coming over the top. A big help needed.
+Helen Young ...See his "how to rotate & bend" drill. Helped me.
Stop golf...
Does too much rotation causes too much in-to-out golf swing
nope
So basically drive the hips less and use more rotation
Get correct distance from ball then you can't take club back on inside without a lot of manipulation.
That fix will produce a slice.
Don't quit your day job ..
You have no idea what you’re talking about Robert. I did this and It fixed my plans and ball flight instantly
Sure....
