Simple Cheap Homemade Egg Candler
Вставка

- Egg candlers are helpful in determining how your incubating eggs are coming along. They allow you to see inside the egg to make sure you have proper activity. This way you can get rid of infertile eggs before they spoil and potentially explode in your incubator.

LOL I totally cracked up when you said you used a already broken light fixture and 'continued to break it, till it fit in the box'. I watched your other video of how to make the incubator and after seeing your other videos and your awesome 'hopelessness' convinced me to subb. :)
Are there people that constantly go to youtube videos to click the thumbs down button? This was a great video!
Thanks! I'm glad other folks are finding it useful. Raising chickens is a lot of fun:).
You a genius. Thank you.
My pleasure. Glad to see it's of use to folks. Good luck!
Thank you man, is such a good idea, I'll make my own.
What a great idea!! Thank you!
My pleasure. Wish I had some eggs incubating to check out right now:)
Thanks! How funny, I didn't even realize a few put a thumbs down on the video. That's kinda hilarious thinking of somebody watching a simple video about an egg candler and deciding it was worthy of a dislike;).
Very easy and a great idea, thank you. Going to candle my eggs like this tomorrow
Very welcome! Have fun with the build and the egg candling!
Hey guys i made mine 3.5 inches X 9 inches long i used the receptacle without fasteners for a slimmer fit. This video helped!
Yes it is a great idea and very smart energy saving , i wish to add a small feature to it i did it on my egg candler i put it a round ruber arround the whole so the egg will sit save. thanks for your videa reall great
Yeah, the seem to work fine for candling and offer that extra measure of safety. That's why I use 'em too:). They also run a lot cooler, hence, they are less likely to overheat your egg.
Lol. Fortunately my little 23w bulb cannot get nearly hot enough to cause a fire. Plus, the nature of egg candlers is that they're only on when you're right there using them to candle the eggs. You'll never had any need/reason to leave them on unattended.
(con't) it hatched on day 25...needless to say, it put a scare in me about candling eggs....this candler rocks, however, and is super safe! I'm gonna try the rubber piece on the hole because my bantam cochins lay some tiny eggs compared to my delawares and bardrocks.. Again, thanks for the great ideas! Keep up the good work :))))
@atkkate Thanks! Isn't it crazy what they charge for some of them?! It was nice to find that it worked well enough to avoid having to buy one.
@shamrock700 Welcome! I'm glad some folks are finding the video helpful.
Sounds good to me:). If it works well, it sure is a nice simple way to do it.
wow how awesome so much cheaper than paying $40+ for a candler. Great job
Thank you very good!! grate video.
@romantique123 That would be a nice addition to hold the egg and keep the light focused on it. Thanks for the nice comments and I'm glad you enjoyed the video:)
La potencia es 23w pero es un bombillo energia baja con un brillo de 100w. Las medidas son cinco por diez por cuatro pulgadas mas o menos.
Thank you. I love your candling box.
Thank you for this share!
Welcome and thanks for watching!
How cool! Thank you:)
i dont set it on the flashlight i set it on a towel and move the flashlight around it. you're able to see more this way i think
Lol, I just used my flashlight app to candle one of my Coturnix quail eggs that are in the incubator right now;).
Love this idea. What are the demensions?
Thanks!
@ilyniners It definitely glows! Makes it nice and easy to see what's going on in there;)
AWESOME!!!!
Gracias.
NICE!!!!!!
Thanks! :)
Cuál es la potencia del bombillo y medidas de la caja?
That egg is lit up like a Christmas lightbulb
@Carlos328 Nice!
did it hatch?
Thanks!!!|
I need that
Hripsime Kocharyan Very welcome!
thanks a lot.
Muhammad Hassan Khan Very welcome!
With my building skills, I am thinking about an old lamp and a shoe box. LOL Thank you for your video!
Thanks for watching! An old lamp and a shoe box might just work;). A low heat fluorescent bulb ought to do the trick.
If you were checking budgie eggs or any other small parrot/parakeet eggs, what could you use over top of the hole where the egg sits? (You know, since budgie eggs would be way to small to sit on it.) Perhaps, a small piece of paper slipped overtop of the hole and the budgie egg ontop of that? It would still work right? hmm..
Ugh!! Stealing this one, too!!!! :oP Thanks again!!! Do you sit and ponder new inventions while at work, that you can do in your spare time? If so....keep pondering!!!! ;) I almost dropped a fertilized egg on day 23 one day. It wasnt hatching...so I went to inspect. As I was trying to candle it over my bright flashlight app (yep..I know....Stupid!!!) my daughter let go of the egg and it rolled off the light part and I caught it... :/ good news, it peeped at us right at that moment..lol..and then
Think you for this share
+Jawad Achniouine Absolutely, and thanks for watching!
If you can find one that's bright enough, not a bad idea. I'll bet to get one bright enough though, it would cost more than $4-$5 and it easier to set an egg on a stable box than the end of a flashlight;).
thanks
No problem
Id been wondering if weather conditions affects animal fertility? Just sharing my short experience from:

I wish could have known candling before...
why not just an LED flashlight?
@tlgrimmy it is your idea and again thank you for it, i just copied it and add this rubber :) because i hav duck eggs, chicken eggs and quail eggs so i can play with the size :)
Thanks! Gotta love it when you can re-purpose junk;). I gotta get some new videos up soon!
sir its or job or hobby
de nada:)
you know you can also use a metal coffee can for this as well
sir from where u r? I m from Pakistan.
Muhammad Hassan Khan Hello Muhammed. Greetings from California!
Oh, that one was just a good old store bought unfertilized egg;). The real ones did though! A good 85% of them.
sorry I mean its your job or just hobby like me? I also try to make something different for my bantams and pigeons
Just a hobby for me as well. This should work well for your pigeons and bantams too. You could just cut smaller holes for the smaller eggs. Good luck on your build!
Thanks
Thanks for the kind comments:)
you made a fire hazzard
Yes it is a great idea and very smart energy saving , i wish to add a small feature to it i did it on my egg candler i put it a round ruber arround the whole so the egg will sit save. thanks for your videa reall great
