I bought this bag and used it for a 1-week journey over the holidays.
It's a beautiful bag, and really well constructed. As you'd expect from Bellroy.
However, it's not very practical when used to travel by plane. It's more uncomfortable to carry than I had expected, and I kind of wished I had a rolling suitcase or backpack instead.
If you don't mind to lug around a heavy and bulky duffel or if you're buying it primarily for travelling by car it'll be great. Or once you're at your destination it's much nicer to live out of than a clamshell rolling suitcase or backpack IMO.

Thank you for sharing your personal insights with us! We love hearing how folks use their gear. Is there a bag you wish you had taken instead? 🧐

i did imagine walking long terminals with this and how it would feel hanging off your shoulder, it is such a good-looking bag tho it would be great if they made a backpack duffle version of this

Was this the 35 or 45L version? Wondering if the 35L would be fine for carry on a plane

Any review on the 35L, mainly comparing it to the venture duffel 40L?

A few months ago I read a comment from you guys saying you would review the LTT backpack, do you have any updates on when we can expect to see that?

Would you introduce the bellroy classic duffel 35L?

Thanks for the review! Are you going to review Bellroy Venture Duffel (40L) too?

Haven't finished the video yet but I noticed you said it's 45L. Would that make this the Weekender Plus? I have the regular Weekender and it's 30L, unless they discontinued the smaller size.
Edit: After watching the rest, I feel like they redesigned the old Weekender line and it's lost all the things I liked about it. It used to have a much slimmer profile, I think even in the 45L but definitely in the 30L, and it was the only duffel I've ever used that had adequate tech organization/protection with the laptop compartment in the front pocket, which I think is gone now. I also don't see the interior side pockets that used to be perfect for water bottles or shoes. Glad I nabbed the older models when I did.

This review is for the Classic Weekender, which is a new bag in the Bellroy lineup. The old Weekender line still exists.

@@mixxer94 Glad to hear it. Thank you!

The classic one reviewed here also costs quite a bit less than the weekender and weekender plus. Which would explain a lot of the missing features.

@@LezOLee I'd imagine the materials are cheaper too. I think the handles are a seatbelt-like nylon rather than leather in the old Weekender. It seems like they're trying to offer something in the middle of the spectrum between the old Weekender and the Venture duffel, and in that capacity I'm glad they're offering people more options. I got nervous when I assumed they had replaced a bag I loved with a seemingly subpar version.

Thought a lot about this one. Good thing I didn’t choose it. Went with the 40L black hole

What did you like better about the Black Hole? 🧐

@@PackHacker2 They're very different as one is a lot classier and not so heavily branded.. but the wide opening on the 40l with the straps to make it feel like a backpack was the win for me.
