- Follow along as I take a first look at the Bellroy Chimera 6L sling. This is definitely a very interesting sling which adds onto the original Chimera product line, as the backpack was first released 2 years ago.
I've definitely got some thoughts about this already, but I' ll reserve those for after I've spent some quality time putting this through it's paces.

I hope bellroy makes the same version with non-collab. I would keep the main pocket the same as the regular venture sling and keep the same shoulder strap. I love the better key holder and third “secret” pocket.

I have the Bellroy Venture ready 6l, almost the same layout as this one except for the back pocket, that is the one thing I really miss for my venture sling
Definitely a nice feature to have!
I’d say the additional back pocket feature for a very hefty price isn’t really worth it. You may check out other slings like Alpaka Go/Flight/Bravo sling mini V2, which all 3 models I believe have that back pocket you’re looking for.
Saw the price on on drop day and immediately glossed over - but watching your unboxing/loadout I now see that this has pretty much every feature I think I want in this sized sling. Now I regret not taking a closer look (still probably wouldn't have splurged) Loving your videos. Keep 'em coming.
Thanks for the response and kind words. I do very much appreciate it. I’d guess that in the next 6 months you’ll be able to find this for close to 25% off the retail price. I’ve seen a lot for sale already so keep an eye on the secondary market if this is something that interests you.
I mean to those who actually bought this sling (me included): Yes, I strongly agree it’s hefty and overpriced for a mere sling.
But since I was looking for a durable sling that will serve me well in the long term (ie. looking at 5-10 years), I would say might as well get a high quality material one like the Chimera sling, which is also multi-functional + overly engineered product for secured wearables yet stylish & full comfort.

Unboxing ASMR .. Love it! I did just receive this today, and coincidentally ran into this video just now.. It's a great bag, and that strap is easily adjustable to fit a big 6'2" guy…. and yes, it's a man-bag. So what!

Hello, thanks for the review. May I ask what carabiner model from Heroclip is that at 7:48?
These are commonly called ‘Heroclips’. Recently Gear Aid purchased the Heroclip brand and the newer ones are no longer branded as such, but will instead say the new ‘Gear Aid’.
This one is the medium size and works great for bags and slings alike, though some folks might prefer the small version for a bag of this size.

@@ECsEDC Sweet thanks so much! Seemed like a perfect fit too, only other sling I could fit that Zoji 600ml inside of was the GR136 Metrorunner. I’m hoping it fits an extra 360ml Zoji bottle, I use the small one as a coffee bottle.
Am I the only one who assumes everyone carrying a sling is armed?
I missed the drop and no way I’m paying import tax having it shipped from the other retailers…..it would cost me $450 CAD 😂
Nice bag just have one concern……is the padding on the bag from the original venture sling present on this sling?
I had a Venture sling a couple years ago and can’t quite recall the amount of padding that has but this does not have padding in the way I’d associate padding. No foam anywhere that I can tell. There are multiple layers of fabric that provide a buffer on pretty much all sides, but not padding like you’d associate with something like the CAP2.

Hope the regular venture line gets that back pocket other than that this is a super over engineered bag that kinda seems stiffer and makes it less useful than the regular version unless I’m mistaken. Looks pretty tho

Might be deep but it's too thin you end up stacking things on top of things and you got to dig through a ton of things😮
I haven't experienced that as a problem yet, but I'm sure that it certainly could happen depending on what you carry with you.
