Roughly how high should your float be when casting a 18-24” leader? You mentioned if your running a long leader to be mindful of how high your float is so you don’t hit the tip top.

Lead or Leader? I could have misspoke. If I am Fishing with a 18 to 24 inch lead my bobber is right above that maybe 30 inches. I think I was referencing my leader length which is the amount of fluorocarbon I use to my bait below my main line

Colville Outfitters thanks for responding think I messed up my question I meant to say is how much distance between the top of the bobber and tip top when casting so you don’t hit it, also the amount of shot you put on your main line I understand it has to equal your float to balance it out and you want to taper from largest to smallest but is there a range to use like 5-9 shots on your main line and no more or should try use only 6 split shots for your pattern and the spacing between shots I guess would depend on the depth of hole your finishing? Thanks again love watching your videos.
