A mildly dissonant style employed to create a disquieting atmosphere, this work was mildly enjoyable, but I may not partake of any more of this Berger. At least now I won't be getting his name confused with the plain Wilhelm Berger whose great Second Symphony I've just heard, or with Wilhelm Peterson-Berger, whose Third Symphony I've recently enjoyed. Now, I have only to untangle Karl Birger-Blomdahl from this motley (stylistically speaking) group of similarly-named composers.
