Wow, man! Beautifully done! My personal favorite song of all time. This drum piece has just so much "Neil" in it, doesn't it? Every single choice in its construction drips with his personality.
Amazing drum cover of one of my all-time favorite Rush tunes! I studied dynamics as an engineer but the real dynamics is watching great drumming like this. Kudos!
There are drummers and there are good drummers but there are also good drummers that have the focus and ability to nail down Neil’s drumming such as you did in this complex song with changing signatures tempo and dinamics wel done sir !
You have no idea how helpful these spot-on covers are for people trying to learn Rush songs on the drums. Would have never known all those ghost note triplets happened between the snare and cymbals. Most covers get the basic rhythms down, but yours are always perfect down to the toughest fills. Amazing!
Nearly 40 years of listening to this song and I never realized almost the entire song could be played with just a snare, base drum, hi-hat, ride, and a couple crash cymbals. There’s one single trip around the toms that doesn’t occur till all the way after the 4 minute mark. I wonder if it was a conscious effort by Neil to stay off the toms as much as possible on this song.
Wowza! I love drumming. But seriously geez! That was perfect! Excellent control. And who covers that? Awesome!!!! I miss him and every song is a tome of pure knowledge! Super studies! That was incredible
Love the end how it speeds up with rolls on the snare and all these crashes on the cymbals. Going bananas. I don’t play so maybe thats a poor explanation but its such an explosive end.. and using cymbals as opposed to drums/toms fits the synth music.
Dude, you should do instructional videos. Or hit me up if you are willing to give tips over FaceTime on how to practice specific Peart fills. I’m willing to pay for your time.
@@el.aye.bee.4477 this was when Rush was awful and were in a void-less direction and used all the keyboards and synths and Neil gave up all his percussion and used electronic drums
@@Bellwitch504 Cool. Nice opinion even though I totally disagree. It was the era and I think Neil wanted to condense a little bit because having a lot of auxiliary percussion means a longer set up time. You really could’ve kept your opinion to yourself and just enjoyed the drumming/performance. I don’t know why you felt the need to comment stuff like this.

Fabulous playing. One of the very best songs of the 80’s.
Beat for beat as usual. Uncanny. When Alex & Geddy call...answer.
I don’t think any Rush fan or musician would hesitate to answer if Geddy and Alex called. Lmao.
Wow! Absolutely perfect. That's my favorite Rush song.
Man, I love this song and drumming along to it,
This is basically subdivisions pt. 2
Yes! It's musically the midpoint between Subdivisions and Lock & Key.
Dreams flow across the heartland
Feeding on the fires
Dreams transport desires
Drive you when you're down...

Great job. One of my favorite Rush songs. I’ve been sharing your video to help people understand the brilliance of Neil’s musicality.
"every single person who'd be elsewhere if they could" -Brilliant lyrics! Brilliant drum cover! Perfect.

Takes me back to 1985. I too was obsessed with Rush when I was young. I'm a guitarist but Peart has always made me want to play drums!
An absolute joy to watch and listen to.Thank you for sharing your incredible talent.
Thanks Sterling. Incredible performance as per usual.

I'm wondering if one of those likes is from Geddy
Geddy's bass lines in this song are superb.
@@brucesmith9144Geddy's bass lines are superb in any song

Wowza! I love drumming. But seriously geez! That was perfect! Excellent control. And who covers that? Awesome!!!! I miss him and every song is a tome of pure knowledge! Super studies! That was incredible
Good job making that look easy!

Love this track. You really nailed it.

I wonder if Geddy and Alex watch these videos?... just saying. This is just like watching him
0:47 Please reduce frame in the video, I cant see the the full set
Amazingly meticulous

Could it be you're better than the great Neil peart himself
You put zero muscle into hitting the drums. I suggest doing some push ups, build up your strength.
Ok this track also sucks
Ok, yeah, whatever.
