Hi Garage Gear I purchased the 22' PowerSmart lawn mower and found it very difficult to use because of the way the Self Propelled function is wired. When using both the mowing and drive (self propelled) functions the only way to turn the self propelled off is to release the mowing lever which turns off the mower. My yard is small 100' by 60' with a lot of starts and stops. The mower was awkward to use because every time I had to turn I had to shut the mower off to turn off the self propelled. The Mowing and Drive lever should operate independently so the mowing function continues to work when the self propelled feature is turned off. Thanks for the review.
Hey Ernest this mower is no fun with they way you cannot disengage the drive system between turns. Thanks for watching
I just unboxed my 26” and may about four passes and headed for the box and the packing tape to return. Like everything about it, but Mr. Ernest is spot on. If I were mowing a football field, no prob, but yard and lots of challenges and this “feature” is a deal breaker. Great review though!
@@jdkennedy77 thanks for sharing jd!
Looks pretty cheaply made JB. Assembly was quick and easy though. Not sure how heavy it is but I think it might bounce around a bit when in use. You’re definitely right about those lithium ion batteries, even a AA one can explode. How did the blade look? Looking forward to getting some decent weather!! Have a blessed Easter my friend! Cheers!
I would agree! It weighs about 58 pounds. Blade is thin and non mulching. Nice days are lining up! Same to you my friend! Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
If this is anything similar to my Greenworks 80v equipment, that hum sound is a fan inside the charger. I think it needs to disperse heat much like a computer does.
Thanks for sharing Billy!
No thank you, do your homework, the Lithium-Ion Battery's are not maintenance free
I 💯 agree with you FL! Thanks for watching
Hey JB. I used to work for a battery manufacturer. We would occasionally do destructive testing to see how they would react to certain things. We one had one about 4x the size of that deliberately catch fire, but over a 55 gallon drum of water. Once it caught (but didn’t actually explode) we pulled the board out and it fell into the water. It burned for 45 minutes. Underwater.
That is WILD! I don’t trust these things! Thanks for sharing that!
@@GarageGear well that was a much larger battery… nothing as big as a Tesla, but that IS why you can’t put those things out! Just don’t overheat them and you’ll be fine. We had to literally shoot it with a gun to make that happen lol. But we were simulating a super bad scenario. Don’t leave the mower in the sun and then try to brush hog 8” tall fescue and you’ll be fine lol
@@BenNawrath these batteries are still a concern for me. And the fact that they can’t be put out is a bigger concern. Again, thanks for sharing bud!
Mower by Fisher Price 😂. Have a good weekend JB
Kid tested! Lol! Thanks for watching Smallblock! Have a good weekend!
Nice mower! Looks like it has a few design features that are similar to my EGo. Looking forward to seeing how it does on the lawn.
We’ll see how she does in the lawn! I have a few tests to run on it! Torture tests perhaps… thanks for watching as always bud! 👍
Don't care for all the plastic to secure the handle bars. Also, interested to know if the blade is a mulching type. Thanks for the video
Hey Jerry! Too much plastic! The blade appears to be a thin standard blade. Thanks for watching
@@GarageGear Thanks for the reply JB.
Thank you for this video pal, i was a little confused about those flaps around the rear wheels on either side! But you sorted that out for me.
Glad you found this video helpful! Thanks for watching!
Cobalt is used in all these batteries and also electric cars. You should be concerned that most of the cobalt is mined in China and also the DRC where they force over 40,000 children to work on the mines! It also destroys the land and consumes power to process. But hey, as long as the consumer feels good about their electric power…
I am equally concerned with all the points you made here Tom! We’ll see how this mower does in a few torture tests. Thanks for sharing!
When I first saw the video of the DeWALT Riding Mower catch fire, my thoughts were they are destroying the land and polluting the air. Most consumers don’t maintain what they have let alone these fire hazards waiting to happen. Not sure what it will take, I’ll keep my 14 year old Honda HRR.
@@FLSTF-us4df a lot more going on than many realize! Thanks for sharing
Looking forward to the use review, thanks man!
It’ll be a good one Shawn! Thanks for watching as always!
Damn JB. you're slipping. You didn't even check the oil first....... 🤣😂🤣
I guess if you're looking for battery powered units, that could be a decent option.
Me? Pass the 93 octane and getcha a whiff of my exhaust fumes........ 😁👍
Hahaha you know where I stand Paul! Lol! Just wait til you see the full review on this thing! You mowing yet?
@@GarageGear Lol
Yes sir. Just did my second mow on Saturday. Damn grass seems like it’s on steroids after that first mow. 🤣
@@paulmysliborski4832 damn! Spring is here my friend!
Good reminder to get those allergy pills before the season starts over here and they're out of stock.
EXACTLY! Thanks for the tip Olivier 👍👍
If I had to nit pick, Id say the headlights seem too high. But how often do you mow in the dark? I literally only have ONE time..
Same here lol! Gonna put this thing through some torture tests in the next few weeks! We’ll see how she does!👍
I hate having hay fever
💯agree! Thanks for watching

That's not for me not enough run time and they are cheaply made
Well see how she does with some torture tests in a few weeks. Thanks for watching George!
Looks very cheaply made.
That was what I thought too.
Hey ultimate! I would have to agree! We’ll see how it holds up in some torture tests. Thanks for watching

Mathematically the more lithium ion battery equipment sold the more fires there will be. Likely the worst fire you would ever experience since these batteries do not need oxygen to burn, they basically feed themselves and are the hardest fire to extinguish. As seen in a riding mower fire video they actually buried the entire mower underground to put out the fire and water does not work. My prediction for California is: you thought you had issues with wild fires wait until your ban on fuel operated equipment and vehicles comes into effect, not only will more homes be burning down the highways and recharging facilities will be on fire too! Time to release the hydrogen engine eh? At least this mower has a significant lower decibel rating than the fuel operated Powersmart mowers which is the loudest we have heard. As a matter of fact we had a B&S Quantum running next to a Powersmart (both fuel operated) and did not know the B&S was running until we shut off the Powersmart. Just by ear i think it was 10x louder. The other issue we have with the battery operated mowers is the blade adaptors appear to be all plastic and when you hit something how available is the replacement part?
Hey Wayne! These are all good points here! Just a heads up this mower is VERY LOUD! Something I will comment on in the review! You’ll actually need ear protection! Crazy! And the adapter for the blade is plastic! Only a matter of time until you find that one hard spot in the lawn and bust that! Wait til you see the full review!
No thanks
Hey monte! Not something I’m fully interested in either. We’ll see how it hold up on some torture tests.
Very helpful how do I save this copy??
Do you mean save this video?
I didn't see any grass being cut.

Glad this video helped you out Ellie!
wow 600$ seems a little $$$$
A bit steep! Thanks for watching!
Morning JB. Looking forward to seeing the video on how it cuts and that design of the handle feels while walking behind it. Have a good day!
Hey Ed! We’ll see how it does in a few weeks when the lawn gets going! Thanks for watching bud!
Dear SIR, when I press power button and moving switch I see green light and red light flashing but the machine keeps quietly. What is problem?
Not sure ! I would contact customer support!
That does not look like a comfortable mower to use, especially the wider than normal handles on that thing. Also hate all the obvious plastic on it including the cheap looking wheels......Easy Pass on this one. They also have a 26" battery mower, not sure of the differences other than size.
Hey fj! We’ll see how this mower survives the torture tests. I also have a review of that 26” mower coming up too! Lol stay tuned! 👍
Fully charged and did what you did to start it and nada any clue?
Hey Dean I’d have to see it to see exactly what the problem is. Is the battery all the way on? Did you hold the button down and then push the blade start lever down?
@@GarageGear correct did everything the instructions said to.
@@deantaewickware5784 I would look into sending it back then.
This one didn’t start either. But there is a red button flashing next to the green in button and the lights don’t comenon
@@paulaowens3788 same red light flickers and nothing at all happens
Nice looking mower. I have the Ego and Milwaukee mower. On video it looks well made and looks solid. Looking forward to your test review.
Hey SUPERTA! We’ll see how she does in some torture tests! Thanks for watching! 👍
What do you do with all this crap you unbox? Your garage must be packed with all this stuff.
Hahaha hey BCSERK! You’re not seeing what’s behind the camera! I can no longer park my wife’s Jeep in the garage! I’ll be selling a lot of this stuff off once I am done filming with it! The garage is filling up! 👍
Made in China, NOPE.
Yep that’s where a lot of this battery junk is made
