  • Here's a 80V battery electric self propelled lawn mower, 26in wide with side discharge, mulch or bagger operation. It comes with a 6Ah litium ion battery that should be good for 50mins of run time. Lets see how to assemble it, the features and how it cuts. PowerSmart provided the products for the review.

A lot of companies are doing 80v, but the fact this is 26” wide gives it a huge advantage over the competition. This would have been on my list if it was out before I bought my self propelled EGO.

See, I do watch other videos of yours besides T Mobile gateways lolo. I have an 80v Kobalt 21-inch self-propelled ( From Lowes) and LOVE it! A metal deck and much more metal than most. Great 5-year warranty also. Battery life depends on many factors - the height of grass, temperature of the day, and even wet or damp mowing, all affect battery life. Wouldn't go back to gas. You'll really appreciate it at the end of the season when you don't have to worry about draining gas and just stand it upright to take up less storage space. Your particular model does seem to have a lot of plastic parts compared to the Kobalt. A few tips- I use Gunk mower deck spray which helps with the grass from accumulating under the deck. It won't stop every blade of grass but really helps with cleaning. Also don't leave the battery in direct sunlight or a hot environment. At the end of the season, keep the batteries approximately half charged and you'll prolong the life of those lithium batteries also. Thanks for a great video -Anthony

We got one from harbor freight, a different model, but the same deal. We also have a big 360 mower for the big swaths of grass. Thanks Nate!

Can you share what the HF equivalent is? All I can find are Atlas mowers from them. No worries either way

Hi Nate I purchased the 22" PowerSmart for my medium size lot of 100' x 60' which because of its size has a lot of stops and starts. When testing the mower on my concrete driveway I was surprised when I released the self propelled lever, drive lever, the machine kept going. To stop the wheels from turning I had to release the mowing lever which shuts the machine off. When the lawnmower is fully operational, blades and self propelled running, the only way to turn of the self propelled function is to release the mowing lever turning off the lawnmower. When fully operational the self propelled ON switch is in the drive lever with the OFF switch in the mowing lever. Strange wiring which I found awkward and difficult to use so I am returning the machine.

yes, I mention that in this review. I agree that's awkward.

Great review Nate, i had a cheaper Sun Joe 110v corded mower and i stalled the motor so much with it. It shot amperage through the brushes and actually unsoldered the commutator segments from the commutator. I cooked it. lol

Will be interesting to see how well it lasts- one good thing about the powersmart mower is it uses two separate motors- one for each blade as the Greenworks uses one motor and a gearbox between each blade- lots of complaints on the gears breaking from hitting objects with the blades and parts not available which they won't cover under warranty.

I actually watched this video from start to finish . First video that’s not about T-Mobile . Thanks for not making another T-Mobile video. 👍🏼👍🏼.
The only thing I 100% despise is waisting time watching an “unboxing” video . “Unboxing” gives that creepy vibe that all those “influencers” do when they get a free product and try and pretend it’s the best thing since sliced bread.

Being electric, how would you recommend cleaning it from grass and other debris? With the gas lawnmower I have now, I can just use the hose to wash it off.

I appreciate your info, I was just thinking of this yesterday dealing with two mowers that make me mad at times and then my neighbor comes home with what looks to be the same thing. But I've been watching you and want your 2¢! Appreciate it again!

@S C yea let go of levers and mower stops. I honestly think its a little annoying the drive wheels continue without squeezing the right lever. There is no way to stop the drive without stopping the blades once you get going. If you do a lot of backing up this probably isnt for you.

@@NaterTater I wonder if there is a way to modify the speed controller so that '0' becomes the 'lowest speed' , i.e. just rheostat it down to zero torque on the wheels.

Seems hit or miss. Some products I really like, others like this are functional but overpriced at full MSRP.
