    Acura really had something special with this beautiful car. I love my 17 ILX All they had to do was update the interior and possibly give us more horsepower. This is a flawless car otherwise. Acura frustrates me

      But the thing is you have a K series. If you want more horsepower you can get it for dirt cheap with bolt ons or go full Rambo and upgrade your cam and lifters.

    For some people, the 2.4 N/A engine and 8 speed DCT alone makes the ILX better than the Integra. Also, the Integra is the first (and only for now) Acura to use the 1.5 turbo. Others use the 2.0 turbo or a V6 in some form.

    With the new Integra looking how it does, I'm starting to really see the ILX as just as much of a successor to the DC2 and DC5. Its a bit of a shame they never brought this over to the Asian and European markets sold as a Honda Integra or Accord Euro.

      Good point! I had a 95 Integra LS and 07 TL-S. My ‘22 ILX to me is a mix of the two because of the weight/trans/paddle shifters/K24. People forget it’s the same engine trans in a base TLX of the same years. It’s fun to drive.

    Pretty sure the Integra is the better vehicle, having been based on a much better Civic. But I do appreciate how Acura did a better job differentiating the ILX from the Civic than with the Integra now. Shame the new Integra didn't have a more Acura-like interior, as well as an 8A/T or 8DCT.

    • @Anonymous______________
      @Anonymous______________ Рік тому +2

      You do realize the ILX is based on the Honda Civic, right? It has a higher displacement naturally aspirated k series engine that has a proven track record of reliability. Whereas the Integra is a 1.5L turbocharged b series engine with unproven levels of reliability. Essentially you are paying more for less with the Integra. It is better to leave one's mouth shut and leave, than open it and remove all doubt.

    • @2strokeFORever

      @@Anonymous______________you do realize he said the integra is based on a better civic platform. Of course the ilx is civic based it was just based on the 12-15 civic. No one even mentioned the engines which btw is a turbo L series not B series. Quit trying so hard

    The ILX looks well proportioned than the new Integra. Also for something from 2019, the ILX aged quite well exterior wise. The black color also makes the car more sinister.

    Great that you called out the 1.5 L turbo oil dilution issue in the Civic / Integra (and especially the CRV), that alone makes the ILX the long-term winner in my book esp. if buying used. The K-series engine is bulletproof and will easily do 200k miles with regular maintenance.

    • @AH-bm4ts
      @AH-bm4ts 4 місяці тому

      the issue is supposedly because of the 10,000 mile oil change intervals but people doing 5,000 mile oil changes aren't having much of an issue with this?

    • @damilolaakanni

      Honda is ditching that engine in the Civic for 2025 (the 180hp version) and replacing it with a hybrid that gets 20hp more (a little less than the Si). I think that's a good decision from Honda.

    Fun fact: Before the ILX, Acura sold a compact sedan called the CSX which was just an 8th gen Civic with an Acura badge and more features. However they're very rare, it seems they didn't sell so many of them. It would be cool to track one down to review.

    I bought a 2022 Acura ILX w/ Aspec Premium & Technology in Platinum White Pearl w/ black leather and microsuede inserts. The red was a bit bright for my taste. I bought this car in March of 2021 and got it for a steal. Dealer MSRP, with only $500 extra for the Platinum White Pearl paint, mudguards, and 20% tint all around was $35,955. I got the car OTD, with tax and destination and dealer fees for $30,700. I love the car, got a great deal, 0.9% for 48 months through Acura Financial Services. I definitely agree that Acura made a mistake dumping a CVT into the new 2023 Integra. They should have carried over the 8-DCT from the ILX and paired it with the 1.5T engine. Plus, the K24 engine in the ILX will outlive that 1.5T. Too small displacement, too much PSi boost=disaster. Same thing with the CR-V 1.5T with even more boost. I was servicing my 22 ILX a month ago down here in Orlando at an Acura dealership and at first they couldn’t get them in, but now all the salesman are saying they can’t get rid of them. You should see how many they have.

    @thomascannone4254 Рік тому +4

    As a lover of things simple, this car easily shows how simplicity wins everytime. The K24 engine is known to outlive an apocalypse while the 8spd DCT is known to outlive a plague during the same time, Acura dropped the ball with the CVT & 1.6T engine but, an argument can be made to just get the manual. I never thought id see myself owning one, but after researching these little cars and how reliable they are, it seems more enticing to own one.

      @@FrankOsman I guess it goes for that too, they're identical therefore they have the same faults. I shoulda wrote it in the original comment but these 1.5T's suffer from excessive oil consumption after 35-60k miles and in rarer cases; the turbo blowing due to oil starvation, which could damage the engine as well. they're shoving way too much boost into a tiny engine with rods thinner than the ones found in the 30 year old d16

      @@Womendontexist this is why I pretty religiously change my oil every 3,000 miles. I’ve put 12,000 miles on my Integra in the last 3 months, so I’ll see if it starts burning oil in not too long. I’ve driven the car quite hard.
