It does not have all the things that reviewers hate or results in expensive repairs at 70k miles: No CVT; No Idle-Stop; No Electric Parking Brake; No Cylinder Deactivation; No Turbo.

It has elaborate suspension and direct injection. That's it. I did see a video about the suspension being a doozy to work on. Imo more 'premium' than Mazda 3.

Acura should've put this transmission in the new integra, idk what they were thinking 🤦🏽‍♂️ Putting that sorry ass cvt and shitty tiny turbocharge 4 banger with issues, Might as well make hybrid or electric or offer the K20 engine like they use to 😭😭

Really fun car to drive I have first year model 2013
It’s zippy agile has great visibility cost to run is cheap.
I test drove the new Integra. Integra feels like a boat relative to ILX. ILX has less power but because mo cvt is so much more fun to ring out.

This is my 3rd Acura. Had a Legend, a MDX and now this one. My 1st 2 were completely different. My Legend was a very smooth ride 309K miles, the MDX sport(top of the line) LOVED this car!!! Alice was the perfect family car.and when alone I could still drive her like I stole her! Lol. 16 yrs and again, 300k. i went back to work (stay at home mom) after son went to college. And not great with the mpg.. I got the ILX and it's different but I do love the mpg! Stella is a sporty little thing for me and she looks good. I have taken to the mtn. roads and she does fine, of course nothing like the all wheel drive of the MDX, but I am solo now. It has great trunk space, but I do miss being able to haul almost anything in the MDX! She was a tank and loved the stereo system. This one is a good back to sedan car for me @ 33.7 mpg and I have the black with brown leather interior. She's pretty and at 55 yrs old, we shall see if I go for a different one sooner than 300K!

I bought a 2019 a couple of years ago as an upgrade from my venerable Kia Forte and I love it. With a 40 mile commute reliability and fuel efficiency are paramount. The K series engine and dual clutch transmission are more than enough for me. I can make quick passes hitting the accelerator in D. Once in awhile I drop into S and hit the paddles, throwing me back into the seat and putting a smile on my face. The suspension and handling are great-I don't know how Acura does it but for both they've found a sweet spot between smooth and sporty. I really like the interior. The seats are comfy and the aluminum trim makes the car sporty on the inside instead of the pedestrian wood accents found in other makes. As for the tech it is a little outdated and takes some time to learn but still way more advanced than the previous cars I've owned.
The ILX is just an all around great car. My first purchase in the luxury segment and it checked off all my boxes. After an eight minute test drive I bought it on the spot.

I have owned a 95 Integra GS-R and 3 Civics and my 2021 Acura ILX Premium A-Spec is not a Civic, it may be based on it but it is not. Civic wishes. The DCT is very nice. It gives me the best of both worlds, just let it handle the shifts on my 90 min commute to and from work every day and then have some fun on the weekends hitting the paddle shifters in sport mode. Love this car. Luxury Civic is the EX-L.

@@DS..69 The ILX is also sitting on a platform that is now 2 generations old. The only thing that it has over the Integra is the dual clutch. The ILX will eventually be headed out of production, there is no point of Acura having 2 entry level luxury cars.

As an Acura tech, these are just the worst. Horribly outdated, the suspension sucks, the seating position sucks, it sounds like stepping on a weasel, and I've never seen more 20 year old girls flatten their tires faster in my life.

@@kevs2good133 Yep pretty much. I had a customer who brought his MDX in for service, he bought his daughter a 2022 ILX A Spec right before the Integra came out (big mistake, Integra is a WAY superior car) and no joke, she was in for a blowout with 210 miles on the odometer the very next week, her tire/wheel coverage hadn't even kicked in yet.

@@AsAngelsFall221 "Integra is a Way superior car" Way superior with a CVT? I don't think so. Way superior with a tiny oil diluting 1.5L turbo engine that will burn it self up before it ever hits 300K. Doesn't sound superior to me.
