Love that Clifton Dyson record. I scored an original pressing a while back for $12 because it was listed as a reissue. The original and reissue are hard to tell apart. Some good funk on there.
Was sold that Texier about 15 years ago by a friend who passed away last year. Not only is it an amazing and beautiful record, it's a memory of my friend (who, incidentally, made some lovely electronic records of his own).
Hey Dillon, There are 2 records coming up at RSD. Both Psych Rock. Just wondered if you have heard of them (1) Gandalf. (2) Grower Of Mushrooms - Leaf Hound.
Hey Dillon, "I've been really good lately, I've behaved myself very well, I have not bought many records, but I always end up getting some stuff". LOL, that's the story of my life!
As long as you never name your dog Steely Dan I’ll stay sub’d! lol cute dog brother. Great name. I named mine Nixon. I want another so I can name him Mojo 😎 Bad Company is probably a top 10 album for me from the 70s. I have so many copies I just cant convince myself to grab the AP 45. Im sure I will lose to the itch though eventually, ha. I bet that one sounds great! Keep on spinnin em👍🏻
A golden doodle???? Sorry, that sounds funny... 😊 Last Wednesday I went to see New Model Army at Effenaar but really loved their support act Seewolf too, so I bought their EP send them a message it reminded me of the Shadows dreaming of the nineties and now I'm actually FB friends with the keyboard/guitar player who sold me the EP and he told me a vinyl full album will be out in autumn, get ready for that one!!!
This video in a nutshell: (holds up puppy) check out this sick local jazz-funk-psych-rock private press record named Townes! The guitar work is absolutely killer with this puppy! All joking aside loved this video! That bad company bit hit the spot. Such a good record!
U should definitely dive into phish. Lots of good studio albums. I find them boring live which is opposite of a lot of jam bands but think they were great live in early 80s and 90s. Great song writing. Highly recommend. What about king gizzard and lizard wizard? Have you listened to them? I would think theyre right up your alley. They took a long time to get into them. But after expanding my music listening into more genres and looking into tons of albums ive never heard, i really really like them. Love the puppy. Recently discovered Tony Joe White and love him. Between watching your and other vinyl community recommendations and youtube algorhythm recommendations based on my listening, wants list is bloated to no end so appreciate this and others ive watched so far
I know what you mean about always chasing the next one on the list, Dillon. I bid last week on something on eBay and won then realised I didn't really want it. Q: When's Townes doing his top ten canine discs of all time?
I'm often quite surprised by how popular Kiss are with a lot of American you tubers. You might be the first US one I've seen who doesn't like them! Here in the UK they never meant a thing. Of course it was hard to ignore their look , but we had plenty of that with Glam rock. Cheers
Kiss wanted to be like Slade (so hence why they also called their live album Alive), yet Slade ironically never got their due here. (Run Runaway in the MTV era was like their only US hit.) I love Kiss, but I love Slade more. I wish more of the amazing UK glam scene was embraced here.
Fair comment. At the time of glam (yes I'm old enough!), it was ridiculed by the so called serious music press, but considering whats going on today, looked back on with fondness. Glad I was there
I saw KISS in concert (Alive 1) in 1975, and it was a concert like no other at that time, and I became a fan. Their early songs were nothing great lyrically, but the same could be said for a lot of rockers. I saw them in concert two more times, and their next three albums held my interest a while longer, but following albums got worse, not better IMO. I will listen to Alive occasionally and remember the concerts, which was the best part about KISS.
Dillon - Who has rights to Groove Merchant albums? There’s a lot of great jazz/jazzfunk/blues on that obscure label. Sonny Lester owned everything but he died in 2018. Is there any way your or anyone else will ever revive some of those titles?
I’ll have to watch this again, but this time concentrating on the records rather than the puppy! You have your hands full there… seems to want to have a chew on every record you pick up and put down!
I have a John Lennon and Yoko Ono album Fantasy. It's in great shape and I was wondering if you might be interested in looking at it. It's for sale. Lmk
I ignored Kiss for many many years, I always considered them a joke, very hard to take seriously. Then one day I read some comments that pointed out how heavy the early albums were, I hadn't even realised they went back as far as 1974. I now think the first 2 albums are great, way better than I could have ever imagined. Kiss' lyrics are a big turn off for me, those early albums are not quite as cringeworthy as in later albums. Love me some epic Ace Freely solos!
make sure you train and discipine the dog. believe me no one likes an untrained dog when company comes over or when you walk him outside. work on him now while he is a puppy or you might regret it after.
Great records and a great dog make for a great life. He's got the puppy nips right now, haha. Townes is adorable.
I used to think that I wanted to own a record store, and now you go and raise the bar with your own label. Impressive. Congratulations!
Thanks man! Just doing what makes sense for me at this point! Having fun with it!
The fact you made it through the whole video with the puppy still in tow is impressive on its own 👍😁 always cool to see what you've been listening to
🤣🤣🤣 he didn’t make it easy
I didnt buy ANY records in February....except the 2 i bought from my friend ! 🙂 i can relate to that! greetings from ireland. love the channel.
Hey 2 is very low for me 🤣
The puppy matches the record collection
🤣 I’ll take that as a compliment!
Don’t let him near the Farm or Fraction??? When our family dog was a puppy he took a bite outta my momma’s OG white album jacket.
Thats the Noble Record puppy!! Loved the video as always!
Yes! Thanks so much!
Townes needs his own noble record logo 😂 cute puppy
Love that Clifton Dyson record. I scored an original pressing a while back for $12 because it was listed as a reissue. The original and reissue are hard to tell apart. Some good funk on there.
Had a Golden Doodle, best dog I ever had. Congrats and another great show.
Bad Co is one of those records where every song is a winner.
Was sold that Texier about 15 years ago by a friend who passed away last year. Not only is it an amazing and beautiful record, it's a memory of my friend (who, incidentally, made some lovely electronic records of his own).
I Love that Steven Wilson record and like Hand.Cannot.Erase just a little more. I assume you’ve heard it. Fantastic stuff.
Great looking puppy! They want to play!!!!!
In the truck with my dad and brother was zeppeling acdc and jackyl 🎉🎉
Very nice! I loved some jackyl
Hey Dillon, There are 2 records coming up at RSD. Both Psych Rock. Just wondered if you have heard of them (1) Gandalf. (2) Grower Of Mushrooms - Leaf Hound.
I plan to buy a copy of that Commercial Success album.
Great video is the Samuel Proudy album featuring Dave Greenfield? Im in the UK so will have to get it
Nice pick ups my man

rekindled my interest for HR. Maybe a channel for Townes? He could host the more modern releases we old guys gravitate to (1967-1981)
That pooch is awesome😆
🤣 he’s a mess
Townes definitely ups the WOW factor.😂. Great video as usual.
Hahah he’s a wild one 🤣
Love your dog man 1!
He’s a good one!
Every kid needs to grow up with a dog. Solid Dad move. And yes, the music is killer as always.
Thanks man! I try!

Hey I think I only said “killer guitar work” one time 🤣
Awwwwww Beautiful pup. Is he a mix?
He looks like a Portugese water dog.
It’s a golden doodle. Golden retriever and poodle mix
So cute.. I initially thought golden doodle or chocolate labradoodle!!! My Mom has a black labradoodle.
and my brother has a golden doodle. @nextplayrecords

Ever Hear This Band Buddy?
The Jackals Portland Oregon Rockabilly Band. They Played at My Wedding. I Own Their Clear Vinyl Record.
Good stuff. Cute pup. Hopefully he's not a big chewer.
Townes is adorable but make sure you close that record room door!
Love the pup……!
Yes a lot of fun!
Does your store offer a record flattening solution? I have a few gems with slight warps I would love to fix.
Thinking Back ....
When I Was Young 1970s.
We Deliberately Warped Bad Band Records in The Stove. Then Returned Them 2 The Record Store 4 New Records 🎸

yay for the doggy.
townes is cool out
Thanks 🙏
Did you get some burgers at the Cozy?
No, Chad didn’t take me there!

Man he wants those records so bad lmao
You've been video bombed!
🤣 he stole the show

I named our dog Cash. He is a black lab.
I would love to see a release that’s something other than hardrock if you like Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin stuff 🙂
I’m sure you’d do great releasing some of that stuff! You should try it!
I’ll have to watch this again, but this time concentrating on the records rather than the puppy! You have your hands full there… seems to want to have a chew on every record you pick up and put down!
Haha yeah I gotta watch him close
So cute though !
You pronounced Salina right!👍
Haha thanks! Chad set me straight
I like the fact you can licence albums for release i guess someone owns the rights to these albums ,do the artists get royalty payments or the label.
Depends on the original contract but I’ve only licensed private press stuff directly from the artist, in which case they get paid.
Townes is gonna need a couple friends soon. I suggest the names "Pancho" and "Lefty"
Ooooo you’re good 🤣 but no more dogs
what breed is the pupper? spaniel? handsome lil monster!
Golden doodle
I have a John Lennon and Yoko Ono album
Fantasy. It's in great shape and I was wondering if you might be interested in looking at it. It's for sale. Lmk
Those are usually worth about $10, if u were you I’d take it to your local record shop
...1.49..."don't be chewing on my records"...uh-oh....
Beard might protect the face, my puppy charged at my nose for months taking a nasty nibble.
Yeah for sure!
I ignored Kiss for many many years, I always considered them a joke, very hard to take seriously. Yeah I have listened to their first few. They are ok, they just don’t grab me.
make sure you train and discipine the dog. believe me no one likes an untrained dog when company comes over or when you walk him outside. work on him now while he is a puppy or you might regret it after.
My wife is a good dog trainer, I’m just the fun dad 🤣
Your puppy needs a chew toy before he eats you or your records
