Hi! The budget stated was for both of us, not just a single person. So technically we are each other's roommates, which doubles our cost almost. 🤣 Also, if we were renting longer-term (a few months) rather than just one month at a time, we would save more on rent, but renting for only a month costs quite a bit more. When we were in Granada, seems that the Airbnb inventory was quite low, and we couldn't find anything at all in our budget. It was a lot more than we had hoped to pay, but we really wanted to spend time in Granada so we paid it. We also eat out quite a bit (and sometimes at nicer places) so that we can film food scenes to share with our viewers so that ends up raising our budget too, though we do cook in the airbnb when we can. @@PureDetour Ah that makes sense! I was lucky that I stayed for a full year, and with roommates we were able to rent an apartment instead of an airbnb which brought the rent down to around 600 a month. I'm from Spain and really want to move back. You're videos are motivating me to make it happen!
Thanks for the complete guide. Me and my wife are coming to spain next year. Actually my wife will get a doctoral scholarship from Granada University. The amount of stipend for one month is almost €1200-1500. My question is that. We can both live in this amount for a month.?? As a spouse i have more hours to work there and earn more money for our living expenses. What kind of jobs are easily available at Granada? We both belong to Pakistan. Thanks
Hi Adeel. You're going to love Granada, one of the prettiest cities we've evern seen. And congratulations to your wife on the scholarship! The amounts we posted were for us spending only one month in Granada. So, you should be able to live on less. Renting for one month is always much more expensive than a longer-term rental. Also, because we are there for a short time we wanted to eat at many of the good restaurants, etc. If you're living there longer term you can spread those meals and activities out over a longer time, making the monthly expenses smaller than ours. As for jobs, I really don't know as we didn't work and weren't looking for work because we were travelling only. Best of luck and we hope you enjoy your time there as much as we did!
1500 wasn't enough? I lived downtown Barcelona with 800 a month by having a roommate worked great for nomadic simple living life.
