Shanks delivered today so between tomorrow night and Friday night after work I'll be giving these a go ready for fishing on Sunday . Definitely impressive
@@jtahoe5672 hi. The entire fly is very short so it makes sense for me to have the hook up front. And with the hook there you can use regular slotted tungsten beads in any size you like without the struggle of getting it on a shank... That's why I tie it that way... But hey - feel free to adapt the fly to your needs, maybe improve it and bring in your ideas! This is just one way of doing it.. That's what makes fly tying such a great hobby! Simon
@@Mountainfly1 I see your point, no pun intended. As a viewer, sometimes getting the scale right in your mind is difficult. Anyway, thanks for sharing. I'll be tying a few of these up.

@@IainJohnston-h7b Hi. Find me on Instagram and send me a picture! Cheers
Nice fly; looks fun to tie up. Same question as markschafer 2843: Why not a rear hook in place of the shank?

Just wondering why not a rear hook instead of the shank is it to close?
