Marcie Jones | Long Play Series

Born in 1945, Marcie Jones is best known as the lead singer of the all-girl vocal group Marcie and The Cookies. The group grew to prominence in the 1960s and were much sought after guests both on stage and screen. In a career spanning six decades, Marcie has worked both nationally and internationally alongside artists including Normie Rowe Cliff Richard, The Monkees and The Seekers.
In this interview, Marcie discusses the early days of rock ‘n roll in Melbourne’s ballrooms; her time working with Normie Rowe, Johnny Young and Olivia Newton John on the television program, The Go!! Show, and the challenges of balancing work and life as an international touring artist.

Wow! Loved listening to you Marcie. I knew the Cookies from Cloudland days and heard a little of their travels, but didn't really know a lot about your UK experiences so found that most interesting.You should put it all on paper. It would be a great read.
