I really appreciate how they took the time to flesh out the story properly while still making it feel distinctly like a Metroid game. They go to great lengths to show Samus's resolve, and her pain. Makes the moments of triumph actually mean something. The tragedy of the other bounty hunters is also well told. Well, mostly just Rundus, but it's still solid storytelling, and Rundus's soundtrack is one of the best ones in the trilogy. Really conveys the vibe they were going for. Feels like putting down a rabid dog, and tragic for it. I'm not gonna say the story is a masterpiece, but wow, was it told with great skill. It's way better than people give it credit for, that's for sure.
I love how there was such emphasis on Samus being corrupted by phazon, not just in cutscenes or aesthetically in her suit, but contextual gameplay like phazon overloads, venting phazon from the suit and Samus' deteriorating state in the reflection of her visor. That's what you call environmental storytelling.

I was so sad when the stupid frog was not an x. Other m shouldn't even be part of metroids story. In no other game was ridley shown to have morphological change. It was the barak obama change we never wanted. Just like all democrat theories.
2 hours of cutscenes??? Holy hell I didn't feel like there were THAT many. Can't believe 2 hours of my gameplay are cutscenes. I guess it's remarkable how well they're weaved into the game, so much so their length didn't feel so long

I had played this game when I was pretty young a long time ago when it first came out. At the time, it was very eerie and mysterious to me and I could not really understand a lot of it but I very much remember the atmosphere I got from it while playing it. I was glad that I found this and was able to soak up some nostalgia, watching all these cutscenes and hearing the old soundtracks and sound effects. Now that I am older and more well-read I also see the prevailing themes in the story as well, revealing that this really was a great game. Thanks, Elliot. I liked the video. I wish the wii still existed. Motion controls and 3d were a fad. In the height of gaming i lived it and breathed it. When the wii came out and all the hot girls and the math teacher talked about it every day, it was a sight to see. Gaming was truly mainstream at that point, but the problem was it was also enflaming shovelware and girlgames. I was gunna say animal crossing but it was made on the gamecube i think... Ok and my sims was similar and girls loved playing sim city or whatever. I got my sims on wii. Call of duty waw on wii is very simalr from 100 feet away. But mp3c is sci-fi Remember at the time there was a show called stargate. The difference is a first person shooter is incredibly more immersive than a tv show or movie. Tv and movies can envolk feelings, but games envolk REAL feelings. And tv and movies can really make me uncomfortable. Games truly are special. Its just sad the only time to be alive for all media was 2000-2008. Everything good happened then. Too many cools things about Prime 3 to mention.... I especially appreciate how the developers included interaction with the wii motion plus controls, turning stuff, pulling stuff, grapple, etc. The ship upgrades were a real neat and thoughtful addition as well. I always love rewatching the part on Bryyo where you acquire ship missiles.
Yeah I think it is my favorite because of the story, but also because of the upgrade path. Upgrading and using the ship instead of regaining abilities you always lose was a very nice change.
They made it stand out and push every boundary of metroid into a truly unique and one time experience in your life. Like kid icarus uprising, you have to play it to enjoy it. Even lostkingdoms 2. Truly unique experiences never again found. Banjotooie, on the best world building. All of these have extreme dark story lines at certain parts. Envolking feelings you can't find elsewhere... Feelings of dread... Metroid dread... Project dread... Metroid prime 1...
I dunno about some of those things for Prime 2. It would be really easy to break the game if you could just pump as much of a beam into bosses as you'd like. Admittedly, it would be more "Metroid" but it would be pretty unbalanced, I think. I do like the idea of them adding Meta Kraid and other new bosses.

I love the whole Prime series, not sure which is my favorite. Yeah there definitely needs to be a sequel to Prime 3, but as of now all we have is Federation Force :/ If you want a sequel to Fusion there's a development team called Reforged Games who's making a game called "Metroid Infusion." It's been in development for over a year now. It's Metroid Fusion with changes to the story and level design and in first person 3D, like the Prime games. I used to work for the team but I no longer do, you can find them on Facebook, where they're most active.

Love their aim btw, they miss each other although they're standing still and 10 meters away. XD
+David Silva Levy Actually the Wii U Trilogy version only has a slight boost of quality of anything. Why so many other videos are such low quality is due to the fact that the capture card they used for recording it was very dated and recorded in low quality. If you use a good quality capture card such as an Elgato, the quality is good as the quality of the game is in most cases. And yeah the editing was horrendous to do. I did do it over the course of a few weeks so it wasn't so bad. But like I said in the description it took twenty or so hours.
Man they really went a more cutscene driven approach to story this time around. Sounds like this is the route the new game is gonna go as well. Still really liked it, though.

When I found this game at Vintage Stock for $10 and saw that opening cutscene I actually said " I thought I killed her in the last game"!
I've never played Other M, but I feel like this commander guy made a bigger impact than Adam.
No duh. And be glad you didn't. Other m is the longest worst experience in my gaming life. I beat the whole thing and recovered comander faggom malkovitches helmet. They sucked the taint of m3 so hard thry made the worst game imaginable. They made so manny loose ends they never had closure of 3/4's of them. It was a hodgepodge of a shitstorm. Its like the movie twister but its pieces of shit flung at you for 20 hours. It literally never got better. It just hot worse. Its playable, but thats the only good thing about it. Everything else, ESPECIALLY THE CONTROLS - A SIDEWAYS WIIMOTE!!!! were ment to brake you. I cant say im a nintendon't fan anymore. They suck ass.
And they haven't even made any good games since. All of nintendon't. Kid icarus uprising is the last good nintendon't game. And it was a 1-off.
Kid icarus was likened to metroid in many many ways. And i loved we finally got a decent flying section in a game. Kid icarus uprising is pretty much the only good flying game i recommend. Becides banjotooue ofcourse. Banjo tooie has everything. First person shooter, puzzle, platform, open world, world building, level connections as story building... even more than what metroid can ever offer!!!
Banjo tooie is the best game ever. Next would be mp3c then lostkingdoms 2. Then sins of a solar enpire rebellion. Thry are the single best games on thair consol. I say a must play.
Every one of them has massive flaws to some players. But guess what? Who cares!!! The thory of gaming has been around since before man. Dogs play games. Monkeys play games. Hell, even fish play games!!! And some say fish don't even have brains!!!!!! 🐠🐟🐡🎣🦈🦦

Because Metroid is the most non-nintendo fan friendly series by Nintendo... It would totally pass and be a huge hit on other platforms, unlike all these Mario and Zelda stuff, that might not be bad, but nobody except Nintendo fans wouldn't be interested in them (probably except Breath of the Wild, but I don't know, it's also pretty different from usual Nintendo stuff...)

I love the whole Prime series, not sure which is my favorite. Yeah there definitely needs to be a sequel to Prime 3, but as of now all we have is Federation Force :/ If you want a sequel to Fusion there's a development team called Reforged Games who's making a game called "Metroid Infusion." It's been in development for over a year now. It's Metroid Fusion with changes to the story and level design and in first person 3D, like the Prime games. I used to work for the team but I no longer do, you can find them on Facebook, where they're most active.

RStaR RaptoR You're incorrect. Nintendo approached Retro Studios to make a game for the Wii U. They offered them two choices, either make another Prime game, or another DK Returns game. Retro Studios chose the latter, and perhaps for the better.

Great idea to record the wiiu, the quality is way better than others. Also, you must have too much patience to record and edit two hours of video o_o
+David Silva Levy Actually the Wii U Trilogy version only has a slight boost of quality of anything. Why so many other videos are such low quality is due to the fact that the capture card they used for recording it was very dated and recorded in low quality. If you use a good quality capture card such as an Elgato, the quality is good as the quality of the game is in most cases. And yeah the editing was horrendous to do. I did do it over the course of a few weeks so it wasn't so bad. But like I said in the description it took twenty or so hours.

Man they really went a more cutscene driven approach to story this time around. Sounds like this is the route the new game is gonna go as well. Still really liked it, though.

I kinda hate Nintendo's approach to cutscenes, which is mostly absence of any, they tell that they distract players from the game, but all this does is make the games feel dead... And Metroid Prime 3 kinda fixes it, which is very ironic because Metroid is actually the game that should feel dead, cause it's kind of it's own thing, but they done it right so I can't complain
