Well done to you. The whole demo was a fascinating journey. You know your stuff. It's people like yourself who take the time to create outstanding unique music and share it with others that makes breathing worth it. A stunning performance, Well done. Rich.
Great Demo! I think the Rooms might be a great compliment for my Microcosm. I'm not a synth expert, by any means, but I need something interesting, to use with my Microfreak. I had the Nghtsky, but it was just too much, for me. Thanks!
Daaaamn! I was not expecting the Alvin Lucier reference, but it was appreciated and fit the context nonetheless. I forgot a few times that I was listening to a pedal demo, and just enjoyed the sounds so much. A great pedal and a great presentation.
Been meaning to check out your ROOMS demo man! That set you built had me super intrigued, and then I come to find out that all the music and sounds are equally inspiring. Best demo of the ROOMS out there! Great work 🙌
This is so amazing, I’m a big fan of both the Twin Peaks soundtrack and Death By Audio. This is really a work of art, both sonically and and visually. I will be watching this many times, I have not yet got the Rooms Reverb but it’s at the top of my “To Buy” list. I’ll be checking out your channel, you have a new subscriber. I just had to let you know what a profound impression you’ve made here…..
If I was on the fence about this pedal before this video pushed me over.with a great explanation of the controls and of course twin peaks soundtrack.KABOOM.once my pay in 4 on paypal for the loomer is done(Aug 9) this is my next buy.
2:33 That's Toketee falls in Oregon! Perhaps the most beautiful waterfall in the country, but not Snoqualmie falls in WA in case anyone was curious. Great demo nonetheless!!
Sure, great sound. But I don't see how the rudimentary PCB of this thing could possibly justify over $500 USD price USED (!!!) Once you open it up and look at its guts: it just doesn't compute! If I had $500 USD to spend, I'd wait instead till I get another $600-700 USD and order a Vector Synth. Paying insane price for a piece of analog equipment simply because it has a cult following like a movie, and because it's analog is pretty messed up. I find this is similar to how people swore by tube amps, and yet the Double Blind experiment demonstrated that the very people who thought tube amps were so cool actually preferred Solid State sound quality over tube quality, when they didn't know which amp is responsible for the sound they heard.. I honestly don't see how something like this is objectively better than something even as ludicrously old and cheap as Digitech's RP5. $50-100 later: in comes mono guitar or analog keyboard, out comes beautiful, rich, warm stereo sound with tons of various effects, making your guitar or piano sound like some alien instrument.
And THAT is why we have opinions, tastes and choices. Understanding why others do what seems nonsensical to you is the part of the fun of it, doesn't mean you have to partake of it...some want a stuffed crust pineapple and mushroom with fake cheese that costs a few bob, others want a truffle oil and pine nut sourdough stonebake. Having the choice is a privilege. Yet some don't like pizza. The world spins on.
two yrs ago.. it was that spendy? huh. its i think 3oo typically now a day, still spendy maybe. but just keep in mind, reverb is nevre analog quite unless its springs or a reblurb tank. but i like your critical thinking, i totally get it, personally. having a peice of a company's persona is overrated but if you had to go off that, maybe death by audio would be one to sucker into, but even then, all these botique companies barely just barely do innovative things and rely on redundancy. this has to do with consumers being not so innovative? or is it the tools they have access to, its maybe that, chikens/eggs/marketplace is all weird. did you get the vector synth? unsure what that is or what reverbs do you like? its actually hard to get one that sounds how you explained there at the end.
This is a modern horror master piece
Love the twin peaks segment ! 🥰👺
Oh man the twin peaks homage, "the owls are not what they seem" ... laura... this is pure art
This might be my favourite pedal demo of all time :)
I thought 'he's having fun here...' then it got to Alvin Lucier and I subscribed.
