How to Make Cloth Steamer Pot for Rice Rolls (Fawm Kauv, Banh Cuon and Cheung Fun)

What you need:
100% Unbleached Natural Cotton
.75 inch width of elastic band
A pot of your choice that has a large and deep lid.
**Note**
Before using, wash the cloth. You want to make sure the cloth is wet before steaming.

I made one of these about four years ago, but I really wanna find the long bamboo stick to peel and flip the steamed noodles because removing them was such a pain that I never tried again 😔

Hi Keny, I'm pretty sure it's the same cloth. Only certain types of cloth can be used to hold the batter to steam.

No. It has to be 100% unbleached cotton for food safety only. Craft stores or fabric stores will carry it. =)

Will the grade 90 unbleached cheesecloth on Amazon work or does the woven need to be finer, if how fine is the one you got from Joan?

Hi Danny! Cheesecloth will not work wel.. you need something more fine. It needs to be like the fabric on quilted blankets. If you go to joann and ask for 100% cotton unbleached/bleached muslin fabric you should be able to get it. =)

That cloth definitely does not look unbleached. It's pure white. I really don't think it matters.

Unbleached fabric has a slight tab tint to it. You will see the difference when you compare unbleached and bleach fabric.. Also buying unbleached fabric is safer when being used for food.
