1985, I was 19, taking a year off between school and university. The world was my oyster, and life was good. The entertainment industry was fire, new awesome movies seemed like every week, and the music industry was great too. I grew up in Sydney, and spent the whole summer going to the beach, going parties and chasing girls. Sometime during that year my friend and I were having a few beers one night and decided we should drive around Australia for something to do. We left the next day! Took us 17 weeks and we had a ton of fun. Man, I miss 1985.

I saw WEIRD SCIENCE its opening weekend and loved it to death. Problem is, I was 9 years old at the time and a few scenes went a bit over my head. My parents had little to no regard with what movies I watched which is why I immediately picked out Vernon Wells from his role as Wez in THE ROAD WARRIOR. Another great video!

I think we all saw inappropriate films at young ages back then and I don't think it hurt most of us one bit. Glad you shared your experience.

I don't think parents gave a crap what we did in the 80s as we long as we didn't annoy them!

It's amazing what he says about "letting scenes breathe" with moments of silence. I'm constantly saying that to people. I find modern movies have to fill every space with dialogue which spoils them. I think modern movies lack a sense of grandeur, for example in Star Wars when Luke feels like he's never going to leave the farm and there's just a few seconds of him looking wistfully at the two suns with Williams' beautiful music playing.

Yeah, the time given for an audience to think for themselves seems gone since 2016. Everyone is too busy trying to tell you what to think rather than respect each other's unique point of view.

@@aldunlop4622 We are fairly confident this Friday's Alien Resurrection will get us over 4000 and that's not too bad since we haven't been around for a year yet. The future looks bright for channel growth. Glad you are here with us to experience the growth.

@@aldunlop4622 Thanks for just being here. There's enough judgement in the world today and I don't want to add to it, especially where films are concerned. I can't stand that people shun other folks for liking or hating a movie and it's on the forefront of my mind when I do reviews. I'm just giving a perspective. I mean, I like American Ninja, The Last Dragon and movies like Battle Beyond the Stars. So, I don't think my judgement on every film is absolute in any way. Realizing that, it's easy for me to be balanced when looking at films. But there are films I absolutely hate out there, I just haven't talked about any yet. The first one will be covered sometime next year.

I saw this in 5th grade as a double feature with PeeWee"s Big Adventure. Two bangers! Thanks for the coverage, there was actually new information.

Your channel compromises almost every major film of my youth, if it included Spies Like Us and the early Lampoon films 😋

I loved this film as a 13-year-old when it first came out. Saw it again about a year ago, at honestly it has not aged well, esp AMH's unfortunate "tribute" jive-talking.

I really do enjoy watching your reviews of movies like Weird Science, and the background information you provide on the idea that put the film into production in the first place. Where do you get the deleted scenes from the movies you review?

Digging through old versions of DVD's, Blu Rays, internet and such. It's the hunt that is fun for me! :)

@@RepresentThis I think most of what was cut from John Hughes’ movies really needed to be left out of his films because it would have a negative effect on the pacing of the movie, but it’s still interesting to see how an idea for one of his films is either toned down, changed or removed. One other detail I’ve noticed for years about the party at Wyatt’s is after the Road Warrior biker gang crashes the party, there’s a middle aged woman standing in the crowd wearing the same exact outfit that Deb (Suzanne Snyder) is wearing. It’s little details like this that add to the fun of watching this fantastic comedy.
